    Great video. I first saw this house in June 1976, while wild camping on Denbigh Moors. Then it was pretty much intact and we were able to access all but the very top attic floor. That staircase was unstable. We returned the following August and noted that the pub had undergone something of a renovation. 1920s style pine sheeting was removed from the bar ceiling and the beams exposed again. Also, gas lighting fed by propane bottles was being installed. The last time I visited the pub in 2015, the lights were still there but not in use. The young waitress said that they thought that the fittings were Victorian. I was able to say that they dated only from 1976.

    Wonderful to see this old house. I was born close by in 1960 and always remember the view of it on the horizon. Its sooo sad to see the once great house now derelict to that degree. My late husbands family were gamekeepers who worked that estate and he remembers tales of the whole staff team from Bodnant moving up there for the Grouse season. I need to revisit before it disappears forever.

    I remember back in the late sixties early 70s my dad used to take us on the road over the moors and the house was almost intact back then, dad used to say you could see the isle of man from there on a clear day. Hope the Sportsmans Arms reopens it was a great spot to stop for a pint. PS as a Taid myself I need one of those T-shirts.

    • @WillHuw
      @WillHuw  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely. All Taids should wear such a shirt :)

    There was another haunted house in Kinmel Bay Rhyl where my mother's family lived in 1939. They endured knockings going up the staircase every night apart from other weird goings on! and were forced out after 6 months of fright!

    Gwych Will. Probably you know that Huw Williams, the last occupant of Gwylfa Hiraethog was the father of Gwyn Hafod Elwy and Gwyn the Laundry as he was known to us at the NWH. Diolch.
