Im new to Knipex . I must have spent $400 in the last 2 months on pliers I love every last one of them. The alligators I haven't tried yet. The twin grips are awesome the raptors are great. The plier wrenches are incredible as are the water pump Cobra pliers..
Some Neverdull from WalMart will clean the rust off of your Cobras. I smear some on, wait a while. Then take them to the wire wheel. Then wipe on more Neverdull.
420's are great pliers I actually prefer them for mechanic work in the shop. And Douglas pliers are good too. I just prefer the knipex for plumbing most of the time.
My first Knipex pliers were 12" Cobras; soon after I bought a set of 3 Knipex Alligator pliers, 8"-10" & 12". -When using them I realized that the Alligator has better grip than the Cobra despite the fact that the jaws are almost identical in their design. -Although the Cobra have a mechanism with more than 20 adjustments and the Alligator are a less advanced design with only 9, I like the Alligator better and they are the ones I almost always use and the Cobra I almost never use because I don't feel them just as good at performing as the Alligator. -I have and have had this type of pliers in several brands and the Knipex Alligator and Cobra seem to me the best of all in manufacturing quality; ergonomics; performance and durability.

Right on. I haven't used the raptors yet. I hear they're really good for super tight nuts and bolts though. What's your experience with the raptors?
I love this tool, for plumbing is a must!
