It's weird to see. From when I started college in 2003 and even after Dogwood and Renaissance came it was still a busy, popular place when I finally left Mississippi forever in 2011.
Yeah, they had something for everyone. Lock your vehicle, then go into a cavern where you can't see it. 2 hours of carefree consumerism later, go out to your window busted and your radio, cat converter, etc missing. On a good day, for the uber cool gangsters, say goodbye to your wheels as well.
It's not a dead mall right now but I a do agree there area sizable amount of vacancies. Would think it would be doing better it being really the only mall in Jackson MS.
@Kyril J. I am from that area born & raised, I know it very well . When Northpark Mall was built there was honestly really nothing 7 miles north of County Line Road . I remember before both Metrocenter & Northpark was built , both properties were cow pastures. What both areas have turned into is the very prime reason I flew out of there . That Jackson area is my hometown & it sickens me greatly what has happened to it .
Food court, tile and just the aura seems way better than the Mall of Louisiana even with the vacancy

That's a flat shame . The crime rate there has alot to do with it . It's a fact .
this is the only video I can find on youtube about northpark that isnt a news report about shootings
Its going the way MetroCenter went. Sad to see.
Other than Christmas season...it is pretty much a ghost town.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Pretty soon it’ll be all cap and weave stores.
Metrocenter replaced Jackson Mall, not Northpark. Anyway, I see Northpark has been re-modeled. It’s beautiful but I see stores are closing.
I grew up with them all visiting cousins. Hello from Dallas Texas
I hate that malls now are just clothes, I wish I could have been able to experience it in the 80s when they had something for everyone

@Kyril J . It's in Ridgeland Mississippi on the Madison County side .
@@benjaminmatthews6052 Whatever it's close enough.
What a shame, that place has really went down. I do not like that remodel they did it looks to cold in there.
I don’t think gun shots will get your video taken down. There are videos all over TH-cam
