390 has whats called a SMS quick hitch, was a standard fitment on ALO/quicke/Trima, Sigma 4 and Hauer loaders in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s we even got here in Australia. Should be 1050mm between centres
Id suggest trying Winston Loane Tyres( fermanagh)he carries a selection of 2nd hand stuff and would be one of the first places i would think off it might be worth a phone call
Will try to help out here as much as i can. Matbro headstock looks like its from a Sanderson. The headstock on the Massey loader looks like its a Quicke of some sort, possibly a 3 but i cant say for sure from what i can see. Gribben tractors at Portadown deals in second hand tyres, massive selection so try him first, 12.4 in 24 inch could be hard enough to get but hes probably your best bet that i know of, he also deals in buckets, attachments and headstocks so talk to him. Investigate the orbital first and find where the oil is coming from, it may only be a slack pipe or a cracked fitting, an orbital has to be timed correctly when building it or it turns into an oil motor and the steering wheel starts to spin itself when you start the engine. The 390 rev counter as far as i know works of the alternator. Its possible to fit an alternator with no rev counter output on it, again check this out first, as far as i know the rev counter does not have a separate fuse, its also possible for the rev counter to fail but that's rare, its probably more to do with there is no signal getting to it. Definitely agree with you on the fresh chicken eggs, hard to bate.
Could be the brake master cylinders that are leaking..if it's the orbital unit don't waste your time trying to repair it ..replacement is the only cure
Massey ferguson 815 loader is a quicke and the quick attach should be a quicke number 3. The alternator drives the rev counter and if its charging the counter should work, if its not working remove the dash cluster clean the main electrical plug
My old 895xl had an oil pool in a similar place and it was the brake master cylinder. Looks like a Tanco brackets. Loader doesn’t look like a Quicke loader. My bale spike has Tanco brackets and they fit the Euro 3 headstock on the loader, just a bit tighter than the Quicke 3 brackets
Are you sure it's steering? I would think the brake master cylinder is up there. Could be as simple as a rubber pipe perished or master cylinder leaking. Pretty sure the headstock is early euro bracket or quickie. Try Gribben in Portadown for both tyres and the headstock.
I did the brakes last year this seems to be coming from further up I can feel wet around the orbital with my fingers. I’ll give them in portadown a ego thanks 🙂
@@bkeenan32 I’m ideally trying to make an adapter so I can use all the bits we already have for the 390. But cheers I might be after a few other matbro bits

Tanco headstock on 390
The general consensus is that it's a tanco headstock but I do believe it's a Quicke loader.
Good hunting.
@@gerardcallan5655 I had thought it was the old euro head stock 🤷♂️ but didn’t know the Tanco one until I looked
could do with seeing the brackets on the bucket and i'd know straight away as our 390 loader had faucheux brackets as did most as far as i know
I would say probably an old style quicke loader quick attach. Massey loaders were made by Quickie at that time.

It looks like a euro headstock gribbens in Portadown are great for second hand tyresthey sell tractors and loaders too
Your Matbro has a sanderson headstock
The Rev counter runs of the alternator I think most likely a broken wire
Do you know if there’s a fuse on the line?

@@PatrickRoche-r5c cheers I’ll give that a check it is charging so I’ll have to dive into wires is there any fuses on that circuit?
As far as the case goes you could call tractorpart in England they specialise in case and international stuff you can pick their brains on the subject

@@andrewwilliams6251 I’ve done the brakes seems this is coming from higher up I can feel wet around wet on the orbital
It's not a tanco headstock. Tanco brackets are way shorter but same design.
That headstock is designed for that loader which is a steelfab loader.
The eggs from your own hens are always good, i reckon eggs have different tastes depending on the area and climate aswell
It's an old style quicke, with quick attach
Looks like a trima headstock

Looks like a euro head stock u can buy the euro brackets for front of the loader and could adapt it to the macro
@@jamescarmody1710 that’s what I’m hoping to do just wasn’t sure on what headstock the Massey was
2 that come to mind is euro3 or tanco brackets 👍
Tanco I'd say. Holes directly under one another.
it wouldn't be a 390 if it didn't have issues. i hated them and don't miss having them. love a 4000 series massey which replaced them though
@@gc19901 I never understood the fan fare for these 390’s this one can be a real pain
It’s the older type euro headstock
Tanco headstock
To echo the other comments, I rekon that is a tanco headstock.
Think that’s the old Euro headstock
Quickie euro 3 brackets not euro 8
Rev counter off the alternator?

Matbro headstock for sale in co Monaghan. He breaks a few bits and always has bits and pieces.

@TheClassicFarmer he has more than he ever advertised. Broke balers for years too and would still have some parts. Outside of Ballybay.
