The yutyrannus in The Land Before Time *are* fully feathered, just with very simplified lines because of the low budget, simpler lines makes it easier for animators to draw them faster and consistently, though of course at the cost of quality and aesthetic. At 1:32 you can clearly see that the feathering ends at the ankles and wrists, with some fluff marks and a darker shade on the scaly parts.
None of the skin looks simplified, though. If it was, it would be the same color as the feathers, but they are not. The design goes out of its way to make a distinction between the feathers and skin. It is NOT fully feathered. It doesn't look like feathers at all! They could've easily not made them look so skin-like. Don't give me that low budget excuse. They easily could've made the feather stuff immobile while still looking like fluff. The head doesn't even have the end-feathers point like the legs and wrists! Those "feather ends" look like they were added at the last minute. IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE IT EASIER TO ANIMATE! They seriously easily could've not drawn the bone/skin lines recognizable of scaly animals and make some parts a little fluffy but immobile and it would be just as good if not better, or better yet, ditch that pseudo-skin c*ap and just make the whole body a uniform color with only fluff on a few parts and it would actually look like it's fully feathered and not look like they wanted to have a small amount of feathering, but then found out yutyrannus was fully feathered and shoved in a miniscule late addition.
@@william3100 It is very clear that the body is following a more neutral colors with the blue patches being like a mane, making it entirely blue would make it as much of an eyesore as Ruby. Your idea only looks nice if animated on twos or ones, the higher framerate contributes to the fuzzy feeling, this movie has several chunks animated on THREES, that's insanely low rate. In fact, there IS another feathered dinosaur in the movie, he's named Wild Arms, they tried to make the feathers more pronounced and he looks absolutely terrible because of it, the wings are the worst offenders but even if they fixed that you will wish he had gotten the same design direction as the Yutyrannus.
@maldambao6126 neutral colors are fine, actively designing the blue parts in a way as if they are the feathers, and the rest isn't, is a problem. They could've just made the stuff blue but not add the bottom fluff outlines that make them look like feathers on a scaly body. How would making it entirely blue be any eyesore? It would make it stand out more as a design, and you can add variance to the blue. If not blue, they could've given it another uniform color, just anything to make the body feathers look like actual feathers! Also, did you even read my comment? I didn't mean add feather marks on the body and animate them to add to the fuzzy feeling. I meant just draw in fuzzy outlines so that it doesn't look like scaly skin. It doesn't have to move. It just has to look like fuzz. The fuzz doesn't have to be big, either. At least Wild Arms looks like a predominantly feathered animal(his design doesn't actually look that bad to begin with, at least compared to the yutyrannus's). If you can't even tell that your character is predominantly feathered, then you officially fundamentally failed at designing what you were intending to draw. If I, Dino Guy, and most people couldn't tell the yutyrannus, characters were mostly feathered, then I think they have a far bigger problem than Wild Arms.
One of my favorite Dinos ever! I adore the way it looks and how important it is to science. 4:32 I had the same sadness in my eyes when I learned this information.
We could’ve had a BABY CRYOLOPHOSAURUS!? That’s one of my favorite Dinos! At least it would’ve been awesome to see ALL THREE. But I love bumpy. She’s an awesome ankylo. But it sucks that we couldn’t have any other scenes. Maybe because predatory instinct? Idk.
If they had one in Camp Cretaceous how much you wanna bet Ben would’ve named her Feather. (The baby Cerato would’ve been amazing but we all still love Bumpy)
Yutyrannus to me always seems to have consistently good to decent looking designs, even the kind about the ones with Kinda „Out-there“ designs I kinda liked, like the Jp builder version
If they did choose any of the carnivore dinosaur ideas for Bumpy rather than an Ankylosaurus, I wonder how it would have worked when it grew up. Would it have been the first instance of a large carnivore being tamed to some small extant? That would have been pretty cool. Part of me kind of wishes they still implemented something like this later in the show.
Yutyrannus is my favorite dinosaur of all time, easily PT's Yutyrannus is easily my favorite of the depictions shown here, especially in its calls and the more feathers variation of it
When describing the Yutyrannus as having longer arms, I was immediately thinking of what Clint said in his What's the SMALLEST Tyrannosaurid? video about the Tyrannosaur clade; "longer arms, but still short. It's like saying the 'biggest Chihuhua,' but still small."
Great video as always! Love the Yuti! Say btw, would you be interested at all in discussing Dinosaur Sanctuary? It's a Manga about a struggling Dinosaur zoo, and it actually goes pretty in-depth about the science of these animals as well as theoretical husbandry for them.
Ever since seeing this guy was put in the roster of dinosaurs for Jurassic world evolution 2, I've started liking the dinosaur, as my new favorite dinosaur
I would love to see Yutyrannus pop up in more movies and shows in the future, especially for it being the largest feathered animal (as we currently know) and an intriguing relative of T. rex.
Back when i was younger and JPB was still around i ended up getting my 6-7 yo self hurt and ended up convincing my mother to get me the in game purchase of yutyrannus because i wouldnt stop making a fuss, those were the days lol
I remember the day the yutyrannus came out in jp builder. I asked my mom for money to buy it and was fascinated that it was a new dino . For A long time i pronounced at as "y-utyrannus"
If there's any silver lining to the lack of baby yutyrannus, At least we got a Frontier design for it in JWE 2 instead of being stuck with whatever Universal would've come up with
Can you please do a many interpretations video of the giant short faced bear next?? Seeing as you said you wanted to do cold esq weather animals for December? And Arctodus was around during the last ice age
I love Bumpy as well, but they missed out on making Ben be so friggin badass with a darn carnivore as a pet. Not to mention, a FEATHERED carnivore pet. That's such a missed opportunity, dude. I wish Yuty was in the film universe of jurassic.
The Many Interpretations of Diplocaulus could be nice...Slight bias cause they're featured in Genshin Impact. If anyone's wondering I'm talking about the Floral/Diving/Magma Rapidfighting Fish
Man Bumpy as a Yutyrannus would’ve been so much cooler imo, I love Bumpy as she is already of course but a carnivorous dinosaur being kinda like the group’s pet would’ve honestly been a lot more interesting, especially when she becomes an adult Also the Toro, Scorpius Rex and Atrociraptor fights would been even more awesome lol
Fossils and archeology revival Mod is getting remade in 1.16 or 1.18 and yutyrannus is one of the dinosaurs being added to it, personal I think it looks great
About camp Cretaceous, we should knowledge that the question is whether or not the amount of feathers would overheat the animal in like a tropical island, especially for a grown one
Just think how events would been like in CC. Ben on his own with baby yuty. Then the fight with Ben vs toro. Yuty saving the kids from Blue in the raptor paddock. Now in chaos theory, yuty fighting the atrociraptors. As having an egg.
As much as I wish we had baby yutyrannus in Cc. If we did, the yutyrannus in Jwe2 would be from Cc, which means it probably wouldn't have been as good as what we got in Jwe2 (would have still been good, just jwe2's yutyrannus is so incredible)
We got robbed with Bumpy, do I love her? Yes I absolutely do... I love her to death and her relationship and development with Ben but... I 100% agree we COULD'VE had something so much more. SO much more. Just because most of the carnivorous dinosaurs are seen as the 'bad guys' or the like. Give us an adorable fluffy baby that grows up and loves people! Just please...
Prehistoric kingdom has scrapped the 50 species list We might see some of them , some are even confirmed to be in the game or are currently in the game , for example carno , bary , allo , stego bear and deer etc , while some are scrapped like yangchuanosaurus and nothronychus For youtyrannus we know it wont come in the early access and isnt in the current ideas for post ea animals , although theyre subject to change and they probably wont be the only post ea animals and there will be more , but the more likely probability would be yuty as a dlc animal ...
Frontier. Get to work, *make a Baby pack.* Just take all the dinosaurs and make them into younglings. And you have easily the best game off of my opinion. Go full detailed.
the raw emotion at the “we could’ve had a yutyrannus”, beautiful performance, you can tell it came from the heart
It's the pause in dialogue and sigh that says everything
“baby pachycephalosaurus”
* shows dracorex *
I see what you did there.
And the fact that in jp/jw universe clone pachy line as separate species lol 😂
@@DreamDthecursekingyou’re here?
Yutyrannus in Cc: “It should’ve been me, not him! IT’S NOT FAIR!!!”
Paleo noob: who would dare start the idea of tyrannosaurus having feathers?!
Yutyrannus: I did
Tyrannosaurus is very different from Yutyrannus. The idea of being on tyrannosaurs is what Yutyrannus did
I said that simply because since scientist found yutyrannus with a feather coating they eventually decided that maybe T Rex had feathers
The yutyrannus in The Land Before Time *are* fully feathered, just with very simplified lines because of the low budget, simpler lines makes it easier for animators to draw them faster and consistently, though of course at the cost of quality and aesthetic. Since we're doing cold animals, maybe nanuqsaurus next.
I would like to see Leaellynasaura for that same reason.
Gonna be maybe two interpretations maximum.
Everytime I see the notification for a Dino Guy vid, I get more hype than when I watch the superbowl.
0:40 Me making an Analog Horror about Yutyrannus that takes place in 1999: WOOPS…
„The Tails on the feather“ LOL, love your Videos
yoooo yutyrannus! awesome dinosaur i love that hes doing less-know dinosaurs!
One of my favorite Dinos ever! I adore the way it looks and how important it is to science. 4:32 I had the same sadness in my eyes when I learned this information.
I would have loved to have Ceratosaurus as bumpy, would have made a great opportunity to utilize the species a lot more

I can confidently say that Mario Lanzas is my favorite paleo artist. You’ll have to live with it

Dude was me when he found out we could've had a BABY YUTYRANNUS IN THE SHOW.
We could’ve had a yutyrannus in the show
Finaly, my favorite dinosaur! You just earned a subscriber.
Yutyrannus is my favorite dinosaur of all time, easily
PT's Yutyrannus is easily my favorite of the depictions shown here, especially in its calls and the more feathers variation of it
Nice to see The Many Interpretations of Dinosaurs back and Yutyrannus is the large feathered tyrannosaur since the discovery in 2012.
Yutyrannus would make a great choice, for a claustrophobic character to be chased by!
There was also Yutyrannus in Ethan Pettus's novel Primitive War.
Yutyrannus it's one of my favorite Tyrannosaurs next to Tyrannosaurus Rex tarbosaurus Appalachiosaurus Albertosaurus and gorgosaurus

I am interested. I have yet to pull the trigger due to cost-related reasons. But it most definitely is on my list!
@DinoGuy8 I got each volume for under 10$ I'm pretty sure from Barnes & Noble, might be a good place to check! ^_^
If we remove a finger on each hands of the JWA Yuty, there you go, Nanuqsaurus!
Guanlong is amazing. It’s a goated dinosaur and it started the tyrannosaur legacy
1:27 Yutyrannus with visible sideburns is peak design lol
Great vid!👍
Video idea:
April fools special on interpretations of bigfoot
You can use the T.-Rex feathered Skin for Prehistoric Kingdom and choose the smallest individuals :D
The next interpretation can it be about daeodon or helicoprion as I think they are both interesting prehistoric creatures but also fascinating
every now and then I see paleoart of Yutys with Tiger stripes and honestly the JWE2 designs doing something similar to that goes so hard.
Amazing vid as always!
You should also cover the interpretations of Nanuqsaurus for the holiday season
They sound like such a cool dinosaur, especially as small as they are
@@andrewmalinowski6673 Well, Nanuqsaurus wasn't exactly small.
"I myself love bumpy" made me laugh so hard hahhaha
If you look closely at the Yutyrannus from The Land Before Time, it actually is fully coated in feathers
It's just more noticable on the top
Ever since seeing this guy was put in the roster of dinosaurs for Jurassic world evolution 2, I've started liking the dinosaur, as my new favorite dinosaur
I would love to see Yutyrannus pop up in more movies and shows in the future, especially for it being the largest feathered animal (as we currently know) and an intriguing relative of T. rex.
I did actually edit the horns onto a Yutyrannus from JWTG, and it surprisingly fixed the design a lot
Nanuqsaurus would definitely fit the theme, A pretty underrated polar tyrannosaur. Cryolophosaurus for much the same reason, Being from Antarctica.
There was a game I remember playing that had Yutyrannus. It was called Tyrannosaurs Evolution (I think) which was a mobile game
NICE, a snow dinosaur just before christmas!
You should do a Many Interpretations of Troodon.
Back when i was younger and JPB was still around i ended up getting my 6-7 yo self hurt and ended up convincing my mother to get me the in game purchase of yutyrannus because i wouldnt stop making a fuss, those were the days lol
Imagine getting an Yutyrannus in new Seasons of Chaos Theory!
I remember the day the yutyrannus came out in jp builder. I asked my mom for money to buy it and was fascinated that it was a new dino . For A long time i pronounced at as "y-utyrannus"
You should start including some figures in these videos! For example the BOTM yuty is GREAT!
I would've loved yutyrannus so much more because yutyrannus is my favorite dinosauf
Oh shoot yutyrannus the goat
So in the future it's probably a "the MANY interpretations of glytodon & Doedicurus"
If there's any silver lining to the lack of baby yutyrannus, At least we got a Frontier design for it in JWE 2 instead of being stuck with whatever Universal would've come up with
My absolute favorite dinosaur
Can you please do a many interpretations video of the giant short faced bear next??
Seeing as you said you wanted to do cold esq weather animals for December? And Arctodus was around during the last ice age
4:43 ARE YOU TELING ME WE COULDVE HAD A JUVENILE YUTI SQUARE UP WITH TORO? COME ON!!!
You didn't seem to played Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family app is where I was introduced to Yutyrannus.
Ceratosaurus as the baby friend would’ve been great
tails on the feather is something coomon in feathered dinosaurs
my fav dinosaur lets go !!!!!!
I love Bumpy as well, but they missed out on making Ben be so friggin badass with a darn carnivore as a pet. Not to mention, a FEATHERED carnivore pet. That's such a missed opportunity, dude. I wish Yuty was in the film universe of jurassic.

Yutyrannus interpretation also what's next Velociraptor interpretation
My favorite dinosaur! So far, the JWE2 is my favorite interpretation. We'll see what Prehistoric Kingdom does...
What do you think about clever girls the upcoming dinosaur game
6:11
looks like a crazy bootleg version of Allomon from Digimon
10:51 How can I find the stats of every Animal in the game like there?
Man Bumpy as a Yutyrannus would’ve been so much cooler imo, I love Bumpy as she is already of course but a carnivorous dinosaur being kinda like the group’s pet would’ve honestly been a lot more interesting, especially when she becomes an adult
Also the Toro, Scorpius Rex and Atrociraptor fights would been even more awesome lol
I did not see that coming…
Fossils and archeology revival Mod is getting remade in 1.16 or 1.18 and yutyrannus is one of the dinosaurs being added to it, personal I think it looks great
I saw that! Very excited for the release of That port!
Can you do the mini interpretations of megalosaurus?
About camp Cretaceous, we should knowledge that the question is whether or not the amount of feathers would overheat the animal in like a tropical island, especially for a grown one
I agree, but the show (and the JW movies in general) already stray pretty far from makes sense scientifically.
@ true but I can totally believe they would hand wave at losing a lot of feathers as it gets older, the fact is going to be in a tropical environment
Just think how events would been like in CC.
Ben on his own with baby yuty. Then the fight with Ben vs toro.
Yuty saving the kids from Blue in the raptor paddock.
Now in chaos theory, yuty fighting the atrociraptors. As having an egg.
Mmm yes the feathered tyrant my beloved, 🪶🦖
Do the megaloceros like sense it deer
Yeah, but maybe closer to Christmas
I have new ideas for many interpretations videos
Glyptodon and Deodicurus the giant relative of the armadillo
Maybe brontotheriums
As much as I wish we had baby yutyrannus in Cc. If we did, the yutyrannus in Jwe2 would be from Cc, which means it probably wouldn't have been as good as what we got in Jwe2 (would have still been good, just jwe2's yutyrannus is so incredible)
I think stomp is a cool name for one of the edmontosaurus
Something about jpb max yutarannus just pops.

Frontier. Get to work, *make a Baby pack.* Just take all the dinosaurs and make them into younglings. And you have easily the best game off of my opinion. Go full detailed.
11:07 Unfortunately.... I don't think Yutyrannus will come to the game until like Post-Early Access, although we'll have to see.
13:02 What they’ve done to their Rex is atrocious
hi dino guy :D
Can you do alioramus and qianzhousaurus and please tell these people that alio is a juvenile and it can get way bigger
My favorite dinosaur
Hey didn’t you do the interpretation on the velociraptor before?
Not quite yet. I plan on doing it very soon!
@ fresh
Make the torvosaurus or saurophaganax pls
What if The Thing took the form of the Yutyrannus?
Jwa heard *tyrannus* and went oh t.rex
I hope you talk nanuqsaurus you know T. Rex‘s polar bear cousin
Yet again asking you to cover figures in these videos (the BoTM / Cyberzoic Yutyrannus deserves more attention)
