Guessing the POS didn't want to pay a lawyer, didn't want to lose his house or pay alimony and would get his wife's life insurance instead.

this is a deeply disturbed person. there are a certain percentage of people in the world that can be this heartless. it is the law of numbers. of course a normal person would have divorced his wife and had his mistress. no big deal. But this was his answer?
As a father of a little girl, I can't even imagine what would make a person do this. I hope he drops the soap every day in prison for the rest of his miserable life. "Daddy no".... that got me.
I understand your disposition. I watched this one video on prison myths and apparently dropping the soap doesn’t get one that well known unpleasant experience. But I’m certain the man suffers more mentally and emotionally, you’d be surprised what time alone can do, one has no choice but to reflect again and again on past mistakes.
This is such a tragic story. My wife and I watched a documentary on him and we’re shaking to the core as we have young daughters. The other weird and crazy thing is it happened not 5 miles from my house.

Unfortunately, this child-murdering POS is in protective custody because the prison authorities know well that he wouldn't survive a day in general population.
You guys should do one on Joseph Fritzl. He kept his daughter locked up in his house basement and sexually assaulted her for over 20 years, resulting in 7 kids. That whole story is completely messed up.

My first baby was born just over a month ago. I didn't know what love was until I met him. Just hearing him cry makes my knees weak and I shake. With that being said, I truly cannot understand how this man looked his children in their beautiful, innocent faces, probably for an extended moment and then take their lives in such a personal way. Such a massive tragedy through and through. May the girls and their mother forever rest in peace.
Someone peoples brains aren’t hardwired to feel empathy. For example psychopaths & narcissists. It’s really scary 😢 keep yourself & your loved ones safe!!
The female police that did the polygraph and interrogated Chris Watts was amazing. She picked him apart like Muhammad Ali did with his opponents 😅

I remember this one. when he said how his daughter said daddy no, I don't want to while crying, that broke me in way that no one in their right mind will hurt their child. it is somewhat a lot worse than anything I ever known.

I still can never get over how monsters like this actually think they’ll get away with just throwing away their wife and children… as if no one is going to care and they’ll be able to sail away into the sunset with their new lover no problem…
Pretty sure he thought people would assume they met some random serial killer. Pretty sure he intended to dig Shanann's body back up and try to cut it up and fit it in the oil tanks too so they would never be found but Shanann's friends rang him at work. Didn't believe his lies about a playdate and threatened to break down the door and call the police both of which he begged them not to do so he had to go home.

Lauren Walker I think that the reason he brutally killed his wife and daughters is because he didn't want to pay for a divorce or lose custody of the children. But you're right. He should've just told her the truth and left. At least things wouldn't have ended so tragically for the poor wife and daughters.

I've seen the police footage, from the moment Shannan's neighbours met the officer until Chris' conviction. It's unbelievable what he has done, especially to his daughters and unborn child.
Didn't his neighbors even mention that he was speaking more frantically?

@Dan Dman You are right. He wasn't perfect nor his actions justified but constant henpecking and nagging can stir up dark, murderous demons in a psychologically-fragile introvert who often do not have other outlets to let out his pent-up frustrations.
The pressures of achievement and stability in modern society places undue stress in modern marriages. A reason I advice men to stay single.
Marriage has outlived its course and in present reality, not relevant for both genders.

The fact his little girl asked if she was going to die and then her last words being "No Daddy!" Man that hurt me to the very fiber of my being. To picture those little angles in their last moments ..😔.
As a human being my heat is broken and just thinking about them hurts.
As a father..the rage and hatred I feel towards this animal is beyond words. I hope his daughters last words haunt his every waking moment and that he suffers every day as he rots in jail.
I watched the documentary about this on Netflix but it still breaks my heart to know that the two young girls were killed by their father who they loved and trusted.

When I saw the video of his daughter, Bella, singing about her daddy being her hero it broke my heart for her and made me so angry. How horrifying that her hero that was supposed to protect her took her precious life. Rest in paradise, baby girl.

That 45 minute drive!!?? My Husband was a Police Officer, he was murdered 5yrs ago. Believe he helps and guides over all those murdered, especially The Little Ones as their life's are so brutal snuffed out. It's the only thing that brings me a small measure of comfort. He watches over them, till they are once again reunited with their Love Ones here on earth❤

The interrogation of Chris Watts is an interesting watch if anyone has the time for it. And also the neighbours solved the case pretty much immediately.

Not the neighbours, her friend, who wasn't a neighbour, got the police looking into it more which led to the neighbour looking at cctv. The neighbour didn't just do it, yeah it's great they had the cctv, it's great they looked but they weren't looking at it before she came looking. They definitely didn't solve the case. How would they have known where the bodies were or that he was lying?

The neighbor who video recorded everything knew something out of the ordinary was going on with him.
My heart goes out to those poor little girls every time I hear this story. I can’t imagine the horror they felt in their final moments.

For a man who had so many riches like a loving wife who was willing to try to preserve their marriage to 2 beautiful little girls who worshipped the ground he walked on and a son on the way and a big beautiful home to now languishing in a 6 by 8 foot cell all alone for the rest of his life all because of some cheap thrill with a loose unkempt woman, talk about digging your grave. Imagine committing a crime so heinous that you're not safe even in prison so to preserve your worthless life you have to be segregated from other inmates who want to rip your throat out. From living the American dream to being the most reviled and hated monstrosity on earth.

Took the girls to the tower? The oil tanks, specifically - one for each. One of tank's opening was too small for the older girl; so Chris did even worse to her to make her fit.
The first responders and workers who had to drain the tanks needed counseling after seeing those poor little girls.
Shannan was buried first in that shallow grave before Chris killed the girls up to the oil tanks. The sheet was partially exposed in the dirt which made her easier to find.
What did he do to the older girl to make her fit in the tank?

I think that because he is the most hated prisoner he is also probably the most protected prisoner too so they can't do much but shout at him.

There was a guy in Chicago, Drew Peterson, who was the prince suspect in the murders of two of his ex wives, and he was still able to get another lover before ultimately being charged and convicted.
It’s because those women have a history of trauma from childhood or from their partners. It’s a common cycle for abused people to get drawn to abusers
Many crazy murderers in prison do, both male and female. There are even more crazy people outside of prison who lack something that makes us understand how horrible these crimes were. Instead they see someone who "would do anything for love".

There were actually two people in interrogation with Chris after he took the polygraph test. You have the woman who read that test, the other one was a cop who intentionally didn't wear his issued coat into the room. They knew he did it, but what they needed was the location of the bodies. It physically made the polygraph reader uncomfortable to sit there and listen to the cop telling Chris all these things to get him to open up.

What a horrible horrible human being. He killed his family like it was a task on a to do list. I cannot even fathom what went through his head.
I usually don’t get upset over true crime like this. I’m used to it, I feel horrible for the victims, but I’m fine emotionally reading or listening to the cases. But something about how much his wife loved him, how his kids adored him, how the last words his little girl said were “no daddy”…. Heartbreaking. This man is a monster and I hope all three of them Rest In Peace. Gone too soon.

He didn’t deserve any of them. It’s so sickening how someone could destroy all of that in the most disgusting, horrific way possible.
The footage from the police body camera the day they went to the house to question him is absolutely insane. He's walking around his house going "Gosh, geeze, I dunno where they are... hmmm..." but when you know what he did while watching it makes him look even more deranged.
By far one of the greatest interrogators and tactics i ever witnessed.

This really rocked the community, followed by the nation. At the time that this happened, we were living caddy-corner from the Watts family. I still get chills whenever it's brought up, especially in circles that knew the family.
There really are no words to express the feelings against Chris, and those like him,concerning,this level of Unfathomable cruelty and the absolute depravity of any resemblance of humanity.
I watched the interrogation video of him on here, the fbi did there job well getting a confession. The fact you can do that to your family is sickening.

God. I watched the police body cam footage. It was terrible. You could see how nervous and fidgety he was. At one point the cop tests him and says something into his radio and he looks up from his phone so quick it was sad. Also the neighbor straight up said he was acting strange. That man is a heartless pos. SMH rip to those sweet girls and their mother.
I just listened to a true crime podcast about this. It’s an episode on Red Collar. Goes into a deep spiral about their financial situation.

His neighbor is the unsung hero in the story…He called the police and immediately told them that he’s not acting right and something isn’t right.
There is a TH-cam video that shows all of this on video (not the murders) including the police interrogations and the video of him returning home , acting ignorant etc CCTV footage and all that . It is gripping and totally sad

I'm not a tough man, I would say, but I have only ever cried 3 times in my life in it's entirety. The 4th time was definitely watching this documentary and having literal tears at the end. Watching it with my girlfriend, she was shocked but it just hit too close to home. I want nothing but utter torment for that despicable, disgrace for a human being

I’d watched and read just about everything about this case before Netflix released the documentary (including the almost 2000page discovery 😩) and was able to keep it together while watching it……. Until the veryyyy last 3min or so, where they end with Shananns voice talking about how we’re never promised tomorrow, and with a written statistic about family annihilators.
I broke & sobbed. It’s sad to know the majority of people who’ve ever heard about this case have cried for his wife & kids more than he ever has.
