Thanks Ms Peggy it’s so great to see temps ☀️like that I would be happy with 14c 🤣 the damp and cold of 8c and lower is no fun. But a winter coat and hat and I’m off to,the garden I have more daffs to plant 👍. Have a super day and keep that wonderful smile 😊 going 🥰
So nice to see all the green and flowers you still have Ali. It was cold, 100 km winds and all day rain here today. My garden is definitely done. Have a great week
It is a real struggle for some of the things to grow with the weather but they are worth trying to keep going 🌱. I saw that on the weather channel 🙏 stay safe
I am addicted to them 🤣 but luckily they were all on sale on marketplace. Thank you I do love my garden and I think sharing as a TH-cam community is the best thing ever 👍👍
Life in the garden is closing down for the winter. Here in the UK 🇬🇧 the cold 🥶 of winter is here, only 6c in North shropshire today. Your garden always looks good. I didn't envy you the winds you had. Take care and stay well. Colin 🇬🇧.
It is definitely slowing down Colin and to be honest I’m ok with that we all need a break sometimes. Rain has taken over from wind but it’s had a few breaks to allow small jobs. Have a super week with Beau 👍👍
It is a beautiful red when the leaves are about to die 🤦♀️ a shame it’s not that bright all year. Yes I do too Elizabeth I think the key is keep it damp, so many people complain about the tape. Wind has died down for now 🙏, have a super week thanks for popping by 👍
It is a lovely space and we are quite happy to sometimes just sit and stare at the garden 🤭, one friend said it’s like living in a park. But like all land it has its challenges and as we get older maintenance is not always fun 🤦♀️
I don’t like wind but I’m very glad it was in the daytime so we could keep an eye on things. On the coast it was much worse 😢, now it’s just typical rain ☔️
I’m quite happy with them Heidi I’m not sure what I will do with them come spring 🤣 but I’ll think of something. Wind storm has passed thank goodness and now just grey and cold for a week 🤷♀️. Have a wonderful week ahead and stay safe 🥰
Best of luck with the Elephant Garlic Ali. Seedlings in the vegipod are looking ok, definitely holding their own. Brassicas are looking good as are the Spinach and Pak Choi. Best of luck with the Nantes Carrots. You still have so much going on in the garden. Have a great weekend Ali 🥰
Thanks Jimmy I see a lot of fleece in my future 🤣🤣 but hopefully not a lot of rat action this winter in the fleece hotel. Have a fab week ahead Jimmy 👍👍
Oh I totally agree with you p, winter is my least favourite season so wet and cold. But I have seeds to sort so I guess that’s one thing to entertain 🤭🤭
That was a brutal bit of weather at the end. 😖. Your garden still looks colourful, even in Nov. I think the jolly red frames help with that 😁. Have a great week Ali. Mags 🌺🌻🌼🌸
It’s back to the standard wind and rain this week Mags but it is November 🤷♀️. Yes I tried other colours but the red cheers things up a bit more. Hope your having a fab day and it’s still nice outside 👍
Wow that was a nasty storm! Yes everything is soggy and rotten now, those coir blocks look interesting might see if I can get hold of some. Thanks for the vlog 😊
Winds are common here in November but luckily few and far between but now it’s torrential rain ☔️ for a few days 🤦♀️ always something keeping us on our toes. Be sure to buy a food grade variety as apparently some of it can have a salt content not good for plants 😢
Oh wow Ali Your garden has such beautiful Fall color. And it always looks so nice. That wind was not playing around. Glad ypu are ok my friend. Happy gardening 😊
WOW you have really chilled down. I'm still grateful for nice weather. Compost spread today...hired the hauling out....best decision I've made this month!!! Love how your garden flows now, with the revamps.
It’s nice when it flows isn’t it. I’m getting so excited for next year 😂 already. It is about 10c average but rain is constant ☔️, so jobs in between or inside. Your beds look amazing and so tidy 👍
hello Ali, lovely video as always I like your updates. Re-the veggie pods. Maybe you should send this video to Customer Services and see whether or not they will consider it for future structures. As you said it’s true it’s almost as if people just have an idea, think of the fact they might make money, but they don’t continue to explore it to make it the best it can before putting it out there for people to buy.
Thank you Stell I’m glad you enjoy 😊 I will try to send them a video of my ideas, I do send feedback to anyone and everyone I buy things from good or bad. I’m definitely no shrinking violet here my voice will be heard 🤣🤣. Have a fab day Stella keep warm ♥️
Thank you for the mention Ali, I think your chard is bigger than when I put mine out but I can see mine is growing very slowly. So many vegepods now 😂 Your plants are looking great. Wow that storm, made me 🥶just watching. Take care 😊
I hope it does ok in the cold I know it’s tolerant but we can get minuses in winter, oh well fleece it is 🤣. It’s due to be stormy again today and tomorrow but fingers crossed no damage 🤞. Have a super day Bethan 👍
I forgot all about garlic this year. Your nasturtium still look good considering the time of year. So glad you didnt experience too much damage in the storm. 😊
Hello 🇨🇦 Very good, the wind at the end was load in head phone's at the end😂😮❤😊 going to bed sat night 🌙 see you latter , lots of veg coming on 💪I can see you have been busy! Well done excellent updating and reporting✅️ Steve in overcast but fairly mild for the time of year Dorset south England UK 🇬🇧
Gerald said you could have warned me it was so loud 🤦♀️ my bad. Thanks for stopping by I know how busy you are 👍. Have an awesome week Steve hope it a calm quiet and productive one 🙏
🤭 trust me there are times I wish I had a 20’ high fence and never had to leave. It’s pouring here but wind has died down 👍. Have an amazing week and hug to Tony 🥰🥰
Oh that made me jump at the end!! 😂 Aw but sorry your tarp got ripped off. Loads going on in your growing spaces. I want to know what ran across the yard but wasn't a bad thing 😂😂
Argh - even the thought of fungus gnats makes me shrink back in horror - I’ve been battling them on my houseplants for nearly four years now. Whenever I think they’ve gone and I’m free, they appear again. Looks like you’ve got loads of healthy baby plants on the go, you’ve got me itching to have my growing spaces up and running.
I have tried all the tricks, sticky traps, hydrogen peroxide, diatomaceous earth. I’m oh so hopeful the cold kills them off in the pods 🤞🤞. The problem with them is their rapid life cycle so your constantly battling egg laying 🤬. On a nicer note I’m happy with the seedlings and the beets I’ve read should be ok outside as long as fleeced 🙏. Have a fab week Sameena hope it’s at least sunny some of the time 👍
Winds have luckily died down but the rains have not 🤦♀️ so I’m sorting seed, sifting compost and just generally catching up on small things. Have a fab week Chris hope it’s a calm one 👍
Luckily it was short lived and now it’s just your typical grey and rainy weather 🤦♀️. Oh well what’s a girl to do 🤣 but hid in the greenhouse. Have an amazing week Jade and Nav 🥰 Ps. I hope the post gets there soon I mailed on the 22 or 23rd 🤬 bloody mail systems
Hey Ali 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 Are you going to put the roof back on where you have put the gravel and veggie pods? Plenty of wiggle finger going on 😊 Nantes carrots are my go to at the moment, I've had great success with them. Give the fungus gnats a tiny spray of fly spray to keep the numbers down, just a light spray should do it 😊 Omg😮 that wind was mighty strong, stay safe my friend...☺️🐮🐮🐮
We will put the roof back on after winter snows as the weight can cause it to collapse 🤦♀️. Occasionally I get free seed and they can be carrots but other than Nantes and Top Weight I don’t really have a go to that works better than others. I just became very disillusioned by carrots in the store when I had to throw them out after a week 🤬. Oh ok I’ll grab my fly spray 👍. Have a fab week ahead and wiggle wiggle 👈👈 😻
Hi Ali. Your outside cage with the veggie pods in looks great with the new gravel. It's also a lot brighter without the canopy. The tree you potted, you said you've put bulbs in. Get a onion bag(net) and draw tie it around the tree. It will save the bulbs from the squirrels. All in all, your veggie pods are great. You could get Gerald to put hooks in the sides of the 2er veggie pod cover to tie down the middle. Can you buy another carport cover? Windy or what? That's the thing about late growing season, everything gets too tall and falls over lol. I still love your sedum though. Oh wow, carrots 🥕 well done. Elaine 🌱
Elaine you are so knowledgeable that’s a great idea thank you I’ll look about for a bag. I’m going to look at that idea too and I think mini bungee cords to use on the corners instead of ties. Yes the covers are easy to get thank goodness 👍. Nick said to do the Chelsea chop on them early on so I’ll try that next spring. Hopefully the carrots 🥕 do well over winter 🤣 I’m going to have to fleece them soon. Have an awesome week ahead hope it’s dry 👍👍
@myrustygarden Thanks Ali. The bungee idea is good too. Chelsea chop lol. Keep those squirrels away 🐿🐿 That's good that you can get another canopy. It would have made a great brassica and fruit cage 😉 you could have grown loads more laugh. 🥕🥕🍁🍂🐿🥦
Hey Ali...I see the freezing cold weather has reached your garden. Wow, that tarp didn't stand a chance in that wind, glad everyoneis Ok. Fabulous update, enjoy your weekend.❤
Yes, the wind was brutal this week! So glad it calmed down for the weekend and now it’s just raining 🌧️ with occasional breaks of just grey 😅😅. Have a wind week Ms Ursula thank you for your support always 🥰🥰
It really is a great way to get your seeds going and you can use it for so many things! I like it for my seeds inside because it’s less attractive to fungus gnats 👍👍
Great video Ali, love the towers. My garlic is in or it was, it was dug up by something 🤦🏻♀️have now replanted it. Broad beans are in the greenhouse and are starting to pop through the soil. I don’t have Calendula but still got Marigolds flowering. Onions are in but not up yet. Have never tried cococoir 🤔. Take care stay warm ❤
I was just saying to Tracey I wasn’t going to do garlic 🤣🤣 never say never. My original beautiful broad beans were eaten by caterpillars 🐛 so I’ve resown in the hope that the cold will save them. I don’t know if coir is going to save the world 🤭 but it seems to help with airating the soil. Almost all the flowers have been removed to allow mulching and bulbs but the bees 🐝 were not feeding on them as the flower heads were mushy now. Hope Jon is well and keeping his spirits up 🥰🥰
Other than the one tarp,we were quite lucky Shawn 👍. More wind and rain this week but not quite as intense thankfully. Have a super day hope you are well 🙏
I am not doing garlic thus year ali be the first time. Hope I don't regret it 😂 Spinach seedlings look happy enough. The revamped cage looks brilliant 👏 I am going to renew most of my seeds this year especially leeks as I am blaming the seed for poor crops 😂 Batten down the hatches and stay safe 🙏 ❤
See I said I wouldn’t do garlic either and voila I’ve bought more 🤦♀️. I am thinking everything is on slow mo now they look healthy but aren’t doing much 🤷♀️ oh well that’s winter. I have a load of compost to sieve for the carrot bed too so that should keep me busy 🤣. Have a fantastic week say hi to Carl and stay warm 🥰
@myrustygarden thanks Ali, we popped up the ploy today. Nothing much happening but my cauliflower romanesco AKA the funny looking one 😄 is doing canny. X Have a great week ahead ❤️
On my thats some wind you have there Broad beans are not paying ball this year Had to sow twice never had to do that before. You stay safe and warm dearest Ali.
The wind has calmed down a wee bit but not totally gone. It’s now a week of cold and rain 🤷♀️ November it is 🤭🤭. Yes the broad beans I sowed before were caterpillar dinner so I’ve done 2 more sets and I will likely have to do more in early spring. I hope you are both well and having a lovely time planning for your next growing season which I hope you will share. Even from behind the camera (never once saw Ronald Shaw 🤭🤭 on camera but the top of his head in potato reveals). Stay safe keep warm ♥️♥️
Last year one storm picked up a 20’ canopy my truck is normally in and walked it across the yard 😱. It’s the gusts that get things literally moving. Have a fab week Sandra 🥰
You say everything is a wet mess, but it looks mighty fine to me 🙂 and no designers mostly don't have a clue, but usually version 2 of a release sorts it after real feedback. Looks like fall has arrived for you with that wind
It’s raining all, this week 🤦♀️ I probably cursed myself with that comment last time 🤣. Well they definitely get my feedback on a regular basis when I find something I am not impressed with, at so,w point they will probably block my emails. Have a fab week at the land Mike 👍👍
It’s so lovely to see a full garden even at this time of year! I’m jealous of your asparagus, it was one of the things we were so sad to leave behind at our old house - we’d only had one year of harvests from it and then left and have to start again with a three-year wait 🙈. We’ve not had a frost yet here but looks like we are due one in the next couple of weeks. Do you find the carrot bed being so raised saves you from any carrot root fly (if you have that pest there?)
Oh no it’s a shame you didn’t dig some up it transplants well 🤭🤭 I’ve moved mine twice. I always tell people moving what have you got to lose trying to dig things up and move them once you move you’ve already technically lost them. So far I have been very lucky no carrot root fly and last year I grew in a ground bed. Raised beds were an indulgence and I was lucky enough to get on fb marketplace lower priced. I’m really bad though for having to get all the gadgets 🤣🤣 so additional covers costs a few dollars. No real frost this week just torrential rain forecast for days 🤦♀️. Have an amazing week Emma and Mr H 👍👍
You are growing so much despite the impending weather ☁️ I've given up. It's pointless for us to try. Although I really should get some garlic in but I've been so busy For some reason your videos don't show up on my page despite the fact that I have the notification bell on. Strange 🤗
I wasn’t going to do garlic but I fell prey to everyone else doing it 🤣. It is super cold and wet here so a lot has been done that has a chance of freezing over winter 🤦♀️. Oh I have the same problem with people I follow I think TH-cam has a few glitches but I’m happy your still here 💕
I worked in customer service for nearly 30 years and not often were we ever asked if a “new and improved” system actually helped anyone 🤦♀️. Oh well we adapt so I have a plan 👍👍
I've stopped doing garlic as it doesn't usually get very big here & Mrs Zigs won't peel the smaller bulbs 😬Not had a hard frost here yet. What latitude are you on? We're 51.21 N Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊😊🪴🪴
I say every year I’m not doing garlic again but alas never say never I’m growing it 🤦♀️. Lots of rain here but snow on the mountains and it looks fabulous. We are 49.100376 it says when I look us up. Weekend has and is wet but hey it’s Canada 🇨🇦🤣🤣 we do a lot of wet ☔️☔️
@@myrustygarden Blimey, that's the same latitude as Jersey, the most Southerly part of the UK where we grow our early veg 😬 The fog is clearing here 😁😁

@@myrustygardenJon is ok, bit of an off day today, happens every now and then. Hoping to plant out my broad beans during the week 🤞
That's some serious wind, hope you didn't loose any of your stuff!
Other than the one tarp,we were quite lucky Shawn 👍. More wind and rain this week but not quite as intense thankfully. Have a super day hope you are well 🙏
I am not doing garlic thus year ali be the first time. Hope I don't regret it 😂
Spinach seedlings look happy enough.
The revamped cage looks brilliant 👏
I am going to renew most of my seeds this year especially leeks as I am blaming the seed for poor crops 😂
Batten down the hatches and stay safe 🙏 ❤
See I said I wouldn’t do garlic either and voila I’ve bought more 🤦♀️. I am thinking everything is on slow mo now they look healthy but aren’t doing much 🤷♀️ oh well that’s winter. I have a load of compost to sieve for the carrot bed too so that should keep me busy 🤣. Have a fantastic week say hi to Carl and stay warm 🥰
@myrustygarden thanks Ali, we popped up the ploy today. Nothing much happening but my cauliflower romanesco AKA the funny looking one 😄 is doing canny. X
Have a great week ahead ❤️
On my thats some wind you have there
Broad beans are not paying ball this year
Had to sow twice never had to do that before.
@myrustygarden I did put up couple shorts the other week
@billvalsallotments5915 oh I wonder if my shorts 🤭🤣 are not populating on my iPad I’ll go look for them ♥️♥️😘
Hi Ali, that was quite a storm at the end, Nantes carrots coming up.
Hi Ady all good now it’s calmed down and just wet ☔️ oh well it’s just typical winter weather. Have a super week 👍👍
Hi Ali will be interesting to see how you get on with the Onion challenge.
Thanks John 👍, I hope you are well and keeping safe 🥰
Ow wow lucky the storm only took a tarp
Last year one storm picked up a 20’ canopy my truck is normally in and walked it across the yard 😱. It’s the gusts that get things literally moving. Have a fab week Sandra 🥰
Fierce storm there😮. Do you think the carrots will survive winter? If so you will have a great early crop there 😊. Have a lovely weekend, I❤
I hope so 🫣 first year/winter growing in vegepods. Storm ⛈️was short but brutal but we are all good 👍
You say everything is a wet mess, but it looks mighty fine to me 🙂 and no designers mostly don't have a clue, but usually version 2 of a release sorts it after real feedback.
Hi Ali good luck with the garlic this year. 😁👌👍😊
Fingers crossed cous because it’s absolutely biblical rain here at the moment 🤦♀️
@ Inwish we had done that now. I’d read that transplanting them set that back two years but as you say, it would have been worth a go!!
It’s aliiiiivvvvvveeee 😂
Bwaaa hhhaaaa ha, they need a laugh 🤣 sound on TH-cam 👍
"Not dead, not dead is good!" 😂😂😂
Fun catch phrase 🤭🤭
You are growing so much despite the impending weather ☁️
I've given up. It's pointless for us to try. Although I really should get some garlic in but I've been so busy
For some reason your videos don't show up on my page despite the fact that I have the notification bell on. Strange 🤗
I wasn’t going to do garlic but I fell prey to everyone else doing it 🤣. It is super cold and wet here so a lot has been done that has a chance of freezing over winter 🤦♀️. Oh I have the same problem with people I follow I think TH-cam has a few glitches but I’m happy your still here 💕
@myrustygarden fair enough 😉
Have a great evening
Ali I agree with you about designers , most don’t use the product they design …….idiots 😂👍👍🇬🇧
I worked in customer service for nearly 30 years and not often were we ever asked if a “new and improved” system actually helped anyone 🤦♀️. Oh well we adapt so I have a plan 👍👍
i feel like it's cold every day. i don't think i've much blood. lol..................brian
That’s funny Brian Gerald says that about me 😅, I have no bloody in my veins as I’m always cold 🤷♀️. Hope you’re well and staying busy 👍👍
@@myrustygarden Blimey, that's the same latitude as Jersey, the most Southerly part of the UK where we grow our early veg 😬 The fog is clearing here 😁😁
Thank you Laura 🥰
