Happy Holidays everyone and hope you enjoyed watching Soul! 🎄😁 Here's the link for how *Soul Proves The Pixar Theory!* ► th-cam.com/video/E4NMmC13gMA/w-d-xo.html
I don't know if anyone noticed this but at the start of the movie the name of joe's classroom is B213 maybe a trick instead of A113 since they thought everyone would look their. So they played a little trick.
My 5 year old and 3 year old love the cat and 22, they’ve asked to watch it multiple times. The message goes right over their heads though but they still have fun watching
When they were trying pizza there was the broccoli pizza in the background from inside out. And Curly, the drummer, is played by real life drummer from the roots, Questlove. Curly even uses the drum sticks that Questlove created and uses in real life. And ironically Curly is bald, but when you see Joe's memory of him teaching Curly as a kid, he has Questlove's signature afro.
Woah. Just realized something. So, YES, I did sit through the entire credits and heard Terry's final line. When I was reviewing the movie on Instagram immediately after finishing it, I said that, of all people, Ferris Bueller summarizes the message of this movie the best: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." THAT'S PROBABLY WHY PIXAR DECIDED TO REFERENCE THAT VERY MOVIE IN THE POST-CREDITS GAG!!!!!
Just before Joe falls down the manhole, he walks by a hardware store with nails all over the ground. On the upper right is a sign that says: SALE 9in Nails. This is a reference to the music, which is scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Also Known as Nine Inch Nails.
My favorite part though is when they credit the cast. "Counselor Jerry," is thrown around there about six times which I found hilarious! I expected a "Curly hair Jerry, straight hair jerry," or something along those lines xD
There’s a Easter egg well I think when the girl that he teaches is telling him why she’s quitting at the fort is exactly like I’m UP when Russel is trying to speak to the old man
I imagine of the "easter eggs" involving objects are likely just reusing assets to save time lmao. Why spend important time developing new 3d models to fill the background of an environment, when you can simply throw in old assets to fill the space.
You missed one thing: When 22 eats pizza for the first time, he/she splits into few figures of herself/himself, all in different colours. Clear reference to Emotions from Inside out.
When it goes through Dr Bjorn Bjorgensen’s life, you can see the Walt and Mickey statue, although it is shaped as Dr Bjorgensen and a child (since he was a family therapist.)
Call me crazy, but when 22 changed their voice.. doesn’t the first voice sound close to Mr. Fredricksen from Up?? Great job on this video! This movie was indeed a masterpiece!
I believe the pizza rat is also dead the rat from Riley’s dream in inside out. The one that says “come live with me Riley...”*dead* Also, when 22 is demonstrating how she can change her voice, she changes her voice and appearance to look and sound like Carl Fredrickson and young Dory.
The soul that says "I dunno" at the the beginning of the movie when Joe asked why they weren't running is the same exact "I dunno" line delivery found in Inside Out during the credit sequences. The sequence where we go into the head of the emo girl working at the pizza shop. Her emotions ask what they were all mad about and then they all responded "I dunno."
Another Easter egg I found was in the credits. At 1:39:33 on Disney+, the credits show that it was created and produced at Pixar Studios in Emeryville, California, but below that there is some subtext “...And in homes at least six feet away from each other throughout the Bay Area” this is obviously a nod to COVID-19 and i thought it was pretty cool! Edit: fixed the timestamp because I typed it a minute off :)
Wasn’t the voice, “I can sound like this if I wanted to.” The grandpa from up? ThTs literally the ONLY Easter egg I found when watching the movie haha but I could be wrong.
One of the accountants probably figured that it wasn't the cat's time yet, so the cat's soul was prevented from entering the Great Beyond. When Joe wakes up in the subway station, we see the cat happily returning to its owner, showing that the cat's soul was correctly returned to its body.
This is a fantastically done video! Chapeau for this extremely detailed work! I always look out for easter eggs - especially the Pizza Planet Truck - but I didn't even spot this one in the scene.
The subway train that Joe and 22 board has the number 2319, the number that everyone in Monster's Inc yells when a human contaminant gets into the factory.
Another Easter egg: When Joe and 22 are getting acquainted and they eat the pizza that passes through them. You can see on the shelf behind them the broccoli pizza from Inside Out.
theres actually a 3rd A113 ref in the movie. when Terry hits a key on the piano, its the A1 key, and the piano is detuned to 113 Hz. Very clever! Theres another easter egg in the credits where one of the little souls spins around really quickly just like Eva did in WALL-E.
in the credits you can see 2 new souls playing by one jumping on the other like the pixar logo and 3 new souls bumping into each other like in the short For The Birds
At one point they pass a hardware store with a sign advertising a sale on nine-inch nails. This is a reference to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails doing the soundtrack for the film.
I haven’t written a full in-depth review for a movie in a long time but Soul left me with a lot to say. Let me just get something out of the way first. I was really excited for this movie and went in with high expectations! I love Pixar pretty much all their movies other than a few. I also generally like animation movies because I mostly grew up with them and it’s been cool over the years seeing animation for these movies get better and better! I’m also a big fan of this movie’s director Pete Doctor! The man knows how to make beautiful and compelling movies and stories that are often really emotional! From Up to Inside Out and Monsters Inc. He knows the work and you could argue he perfected it. So I went in into this movie with a lot of high expectations, one of them being that I predicted that Soul may be my favourite movie from the entire year! Cause when I heard about the premise of the movie I was super intrigued and I felt like I resonated with it. I’m happy to say that this is a movie a lot of people will resonate with and connect with and even I resonated with it at some of its messages. Soul for me felt like one of Pixar’s most ambitious films yet. It’s wildly different then what you would expect from a family animated movie. I would argue that this movie is aimed at adults or students who are looking for explanations or purposes In their life. That’s how mature it is, and I think if young kids would watch this movie they wouldn’t like it and it would be far from them being able to understand this story and the messages it presents. This movie is really complex, deep, intimate, personal and unfortunately too complicated for its own good. I personally might have a disadvantage with understanding the story of this movie because I find myself often getting confused and not understanding what the filmmakers and writers of movies want to convey to me. So that might be an issue with me and not the movie’s but, I was pretty confused with the story and everything that is presented. Nonetheless, let me go back on how bold this movie is though because I honestly wasn’t expecting this from Pixar. This movie has a lot of layers it explores, it’s fast-paced at just ninety minutes and wildly different from anything else in its field. So it’s important to give credit where credits due. I didn’t even get started on how breathtaking and incredible the animation for this movie is. I could say so much more on the level of detail Pixar and their entire team put into with there animation for this movie. The movie was also unexpected at times when it gave me vibes from the movie Freaky Friday and how the events from this movie were similar to that movie at parts. It also had great music that it presented, astonishing world-building and well-realized characters that you end up caring for. Overall Soul was one of the most unique movies Pixar has to offer. With a dense and compacted plot and messages that will leave audiences pondering long after its over, humour that works for most of the time, clever dialogue, characters with a lot of personalities and just gorgeous animation makes Soul one of the best movies of the year. Unfortunately for me though I felt like I couldn’t appreciate and grasp all the messages, morals and the overall story that the movie had to offer. That’s alright though because I still had an amazing time with Soul!
I was just wondering does having the film stream digitally help your process of finding these Easter eggs? Like you could pause and rewind it compared to having to watch it in one sitting in the movie theater (or waiting till there’s a digital copy of it).
Yes of course definitely helps to find more than usual at a theatrical release! Although I've been doing this for years so you get used to constantly looking for references and details in the background. But yes I watched the film twice before making the video.
in the first few minutes of the movie, while Joe was teaching, the girl who is good at the trombone sucks up 5 colored candies. I instantly thought of inside out.
the sign on the wall, about sewing mending the soul could also be a nod to Merida and the Queen and how she has to mend the tapestry her mother made, by sewing it back together to turn her mother back into a human. Just something I thought I would throw out in case you missed the connection. Thanks for the Video! I always enjoy hearing you explain things.
If it was truly called the hall of everything it wouldn't have EVERYTHING thing in it because it would have space, time, past, life, and it would have every posible thing because that counts as something.. AHHHH!! TOO MUCH MATH!!!!
The dog that barks at Joe as he's about to fall down the manhole resembles the dog from The Secret Life of Pets. I don't believe TSLOP is a Disney/Pixar movie, but the dog looks a lot like the one in that movie.
There’s another reference in the subway where a train pulls up, it’s train number 2319 and there’s also a logo that looks similar to the Monster’s Inc logo on the train
The Jerry's and Terry resemble the MacOS Finder icon. It's widely suspected that the finder icon is influenced by the work of the cubist artist Pablo Picasso. Cubism essentially is about representing lots of different viewpoints of a subject all at once so rather than taking a strict photographic approach to showing a face, the cubist believe that you can get a truer, more complete representation of that person by showing their face from all sorts of different angles, showing different moods or different points in time too.
In "Soul", you may have noticed that there is grass in some of the scenes. Those are likely a nod to Monsters University because that movie also had grass in it. Coincidence? I think not.
I also think 22 could be a reference to “catch 22” - a dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions. Kinda like how it was for Joe’s journey in the film because he’s dead and was trying to find a way to go back to earth afterwards.
Do you think 22 could be a reference to Onward the 22nd Pixar movie? Maybe 22 is Onward’s dad since you know he knows he can come back to life because he’s seen it happen before?
Unlike all the other Easter eggs, the “mend the soul” Easter egg was the most obvious one, and it was still somehow missed on this video. In the movie Brave, there is a phrase repeated: “Fate be changed, look inside. Mend the bond torn by pride.” This quote prompts Merida to realize that she must SEW (mend) the tapestry she tore, which was practically the main theme of the story. So the “mend the soul” reference in Soul was actually a Brave Easter egg.
My list fight me! 23.Cars 2. 22.Cars 3. 21.Brave. 20.Bugs life. 19.Monsters U. 18.Finding Dory. 17.The Good Dinosaur 16.Toy story 4. 15.Toy story 3. 14.Incredibles 2 13.Onward. 12.Toy Story 11.Cars 10.Inside out 9.Finding Nemo 8.Toy Story 2 7.Incredibles 6.Soul 5.Wall E. 4.Ratatouille. 3.Monsters Inc. 2.Coco. 1.Up.
7:32 compare this voice to the guy handing out awards at the Wilderness Explorers Ceremony at the end of Up. I think this is Pete Docter, not Ratzenberger.
When most of your comments begin with "may be" and "could be," they're likely not Easter eggs and only reused digital models. Several of these were a reach. But I do appreciate the highlights of several things I overlooked.
6:30 I feel like this was a reference to the "Haunted Mansion" one of Disney's live action films also inspired by the famous ride at various Disney Theme Parks, where there's a psychic with only a head caled "Madam Lionet".
Terri / Jerri design is probably a reference to the classic Mac OS logo of the face on the monitor. They normally have Apple / Steve Jobs referenced in their movies.
Fun fact: in 22’s hall of the mentor name tags, you can see John Kirby, he worked there Nintendo and helped them with a case that involved copyright for donkey Kong. When he passed, Nintendo made a game about him, And that’s how Kirby was made
When Joe (in cat form) told 22 to stop saying "Okay" reminds me of how Leon told Mathilda "And stop saying " okay" all the time. Okay?". Or is it just me? 😂
When 22 shows off two other voices, I noticed my first time through that the old man voice was probably Carl Fredrickson, and the little girl voice may have been Baby Dory
That guy on the road to the great beyond with bangs and said like what ever or something looks A LOT like the “perfect boyfriend” from Inside Out who says that they’ll die for Riley.
Here are some references but they're non-pixars 1. Joe Gardner acts like electro when he mentions about the spark especially how his soul is completely ghost-like. 2. 22 looks like Casper due to her bald head.
These are really cool! I picked up on a fair few of these. Wasn't sure if anyone else noticed the stickers on the door that Joe runs past before falling in the hole: They were the colour and shape of Wall-E and Eve! Also when they mention the 'Move It' car, it looks like Judy Hopps from Zootropolis (even if it isn't a Pixar film!)
Happy Holidays everyone and hope you enjoyed watching Soul! 🎄😁

LOL, once you start looking you won't be able to stop!
I’m so glad these videos exist because I could never spot a handful of these, never mind all of them!
So complete!!! 😍❤😍❤ Thank you!!!
I can rarely spot barely any Easter Eggs, so thanks for making these videos.
Maybe 22 is Onward’s dad since you know he knows he can come back to life because he’s seen it happen before?
... You do know she's a girl, right?
This was so in depth omg! I loved it!
The seamstress Joe kisses in his mom’s shop looks a lot like Edna from The Incredibles.
Totally right! Same hairdo and similar glasses :)
5:52 I cracked up at this bit 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Unlike all the other Easter eggs, the “mend the soul” Easter egg was the most obvious one, and it was still somehow missed on this video. In the movie Brave, there is a phrase repeated:
“Fate be changed, look inside. Mend the bond torn by pride.” This quote prompts Merida to realize that she must SEW (mend) the tapestry she tore, which was practically the main theme
of the story. So the “mend the soul” reference in Soul was actually a Brave Easter egg.
My list fight me!

7:32 compare this voice to the guy handing out awards at the Wilderness Explorers Ceremony at the end of Up. I think this is Pete Docter, not Ratzenberger.
If Soul Easter eggs showed up in Onward, I’m convinced it’s meant to foreshadow Soul as their next project, as has been done for decades in Pixar now
When most of your comments begin with "may be" and "could be," they're likely not Easter eggs and only reused digital models. Several of these were a reach. But I do appreciate the highlights of several things I overlooked.
The move it truck is actually from the pixar sparkshort Out
6:30 I feel like this was a reference to the "Haunted Mansion" one of Disney's live action films also inspired by the famous ride at various Disney Theme Parks, where there's a psychic with only a head caled "Madam Lionet".
Holy smokes I didn't notice half of these... the lamp seemed so obvious I'm actually surprised to have missed it!
Good Video My Friend!
So the album being in onward from an artist on earth would support that onward takes place on earth
Great video- lots of great catches!!!
Thank you very much!
I think 22 should've been named *2319*
I don't get it. Why?
Monsters inc!
2319 was actually in the movie!! It was the number of the Subway that Joe and the cat took!
@@griffingiboney891 oh cool I didn't know. I think they named it 22 firstly cause it's a short name and second because soul is pixar's 22 film
In this movie Joe breathes! This may be a reference to Carl from Pixar's Up because he also seems to breathe now and then.
So amazing 💙
Terri / Jerri design is probably a reference to the classic Mac OS logo of the face on the monitor. They normally have Apple / Steve Jobs referenced in their movies.
Note the trolley had Powell and Hyde which is an actual trolley in SF 3:28
Fun fact: in 22’s hall of the mentor name tags, you can see John Kirby, he worked there Nintendo and helped them with a case that involved copyright for donkey Kong. When he passed, Nintendo made a game about him, And that’s how Kirby was made
When Joe (in cat form) told 22 to stop saying "Okay" reminds me of how Leon told Mathilda "And stop saying " okay" all the time. Okay?". Or is it just me? 😂
In the Hall of Everything there's a red and white rocket that takes off. That rocket is from Pizza Planet!
Great video.
Thanks!
Here are some references but they're non-pixars
1. Joe Gardner acts like electro when he mentions about the spark especially how his soul is completely ghost-like.
2. 22 looks like Casper due to her bald head.
That's actually so impressive 😀
This is great bc I knew there were easter eggs but not sure how to spot them lol. Thanks for this very fun.
Finally, Wall-E getting a cameo in Soul.
