    So happy to see this!! I've got my PX5s for nine years now and I still don't want to be without it!! Use it mainly in the studio! For me this one has still much more character than the recent Yamaha or Roland piano's! Still feel really connected to this instrument emotianally! So I'll keep mine anyway! Even the Ct-s1 sounds and plays amazing, although no weighted keys. But it's my "Play anywher" piano! Yes... In case you didn't notice... I'm a big Casio fan!

    Really inspiring listening to you play and discuss this instrument on the strength of its merits from a perspective of an actual player. Thanks for doing this, you made me think this might be what I have been looking for.

    Very nice review! I like that this review feels truly genuine and authentic coming from a long-term piano player like you and talking in a very informative and informal manner about the instrument and how it will benefit you in your daily life. I also must say your have outstanding piano playing skills, which I very much admire!
    I came here from the Casio Facebook page and glad I saw this. Best of luck in your career!
    Thanks,
    Alex Tcherniak

    Very cool video. I'm in love with my Privia PX-3 but I have my eye on this as a possible upgrade.

      I used a Px3 for a couple of years. Recently sold it and bought the Px-5. Haven't regretted my decision for a second.Huge improvement in the onboard sounds and in ability to edit sounds. Many new sounds available for download. Plus a very active support community.

      Lee Rouse Hi, Lee. I'm trying to decide between PX3 and PX-5s.
      I use 99% of the time virtual instruments, so I'm not concerned about the quality of the onboard sounds.
      What I care most is the overall build and keyboard (keys) quality. I can't try the PX-3, but today I played on the PX-5 and the CDP-130.
      CDP-130 is out of my choices because it doesn't have bend wheel nor act as a controller.
      So I keep between PX-3 and PX-5s. The first one is half the price of the second here in brazil.
      Should I buy the PX-3 and I'll keep having a good hammer action and controller capability?
      Thanks!!!

      @soureel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. Playing mostly virtual instruments- The one thing which would sway me towards the PX5 is that setups are MUCH easier to create and save on the PX5 than on the PX3. So if you want to store song setups in the keyboard, the PX5 would be your choice. Build-wise and keyboard touch-wise, they're pretty much the same. If you're just using the keyboard as a dummy midi controller and managing all your song setups through something like Cantabile, the PX3 would probably suffice. Good luck!

    Mr Weingart , the way you play I like . If you hear the music on the movie "Turkish Froot" from Rogier van Otterlo with Toots Thielemans , you will here that kind of Fender Roads what you play. You do it great !

      Did you really replace a CP5? I thought it was a great keydoard it's very pricey. How does the PX-5S compare to the cp 5 piano voices?

    Hey Steve enjoy your playing.I am trying to decide between the Privia 5S and Privia 560.Can you tell me which is going to be more suited for playing virtual instruments from a Mac with Logic in the studio?Is there any difference in the feel and action between the two?

    What kind of stage amplification do you recommend for the best sounding grand sound at a moderate price? Keyboard amps tend to peak out at high volumes and seem to leave me flat. I've always used mixers and my last amp setup was a Behringer XENYX X1204USB with 2 Behringer Eurolive B212D Powered PA Speakers. It sounded very good with my Triton and MOX6 but I blew a number of crossovers and a woofer.

    Thanks!!

    monster keyboard, and Steve you're right...I too am picky about the sound, feel and touch of a great keyboard.

  • @LouisJosephson
    @LouisJosephson 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    A few questions about this keyboard:
    1. is it weighted? because on some websites it says it is, but on others it says it is just touch-sensisitive.
    2. Compatible with MainStage3+?
    3 (general question) Is it worth the 999 dollars?

    Wow...Mr.Weingart is 3 years older than myself(I'm 46) and he's never heard of a pro line of Casio's until he was introduced to the Privia PX-5S?Really??
    Casio has been making pro synths since the mid 1980's and this guy was an adult then and he's been a keyboardist since he was 3...man,something just does not compute.
    To be fair though,Casio does not have a long history of pro-level keyboards and in fact(after the 80's)there was a solid decade of consumer grade-only,keyboards.
    Only in the last 15 or so years,did Casio even touch on the pro market once again,with their MZ-2000(which was more or less an entry level keyboard that was aimed toward the pro-level.)

      Casio Music Gear I want to take this casio but, im interest in key action.... in Serbia i have not chance to try it before I buy... so can you give me some details about action, or pictures, video of inside to look... Im classical pianists.

    • @zoellapetite
      @zoellapetite 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ivan Predojevic I'm afraid I haven't owned enough digital pianos to compare them or played many quality grands. I do know, a lot of people have praised the action. This guy for example says he prefers it to those common red stage pianos watch?v=5h8bx8cHNao
      It uses a tri-sensor on the keys and is a graded hammer action with fairly grippy keys though the one thing I dislike about it is that they make a fair bit of noise if you hit them hard, both when you press them down and you release them. I hope Casio makes then quieter if they make a sequel model. I've heard other Casio keyboards are very quiet like the WK series.

    • @Ivan-cz4vh
      @Ivan-cz4vh 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      zoellapetite ok. i have korg rh3 piano action right now and its good for me in this moment, its harder on lower notes and lighter on high. So its similar to grand piano. I just wondering hows action and I want to see video of this casios piano action...because i cant try it here in dead end Serbia.
