My heart skipped a beat when you rolled it, I have one and know what thats like. I usually stand very close by when I do something crazy so I can catch it, its just so much weight to come down on the body. 3 rolls so far and I've only broken handles which you thankfully get extras of.
Basically I like to push my truck harder than other people will push theirs so that they know it'll take it
Is the Mammoth worth the $1,500.00 is it unstoppable on a trail? And is the quality really there? I’m really close to purchasing one but I want to make sure that it is really as bad ass as it look. Every video I see is almost like a professional/commercial for advertising. I just want the real about the truck. Will it out trail a Summit or a Wraith?

Hi! I am from germany. Nice Video! I have seen these traktors with trailer plus a T72 on it as a young man in the 1970ties in my hometown(Schwerin/East Germany) . They are very loud and the air was full of unburned Diesel- and engineoil-smoke ... Most of the engine's of these ol' crawlers(from the early '60ties?) where in very bad condition... And the young divers... 18.. 20years old, i think... only bad trained... They crashed/rolled over traffic signes, fances, parked cars and other things... With these traktors or other trucks (Ural, Sil, Kras...) Shit happens! The germans began the war, They pay the bill...

@@burdon84 I think black is about the most universally excellent colour for our hobby. Green is my fave colour for everyday things, but your truck is awesome and sinister, yet cool and authentic. I'm doing a "budget" 8x8 that'll be pretty good, for a lot less $$$£££, however the Mammoth is a *dream* build, and I'd love to own one. Not so keen on painting stuff though which is why a satin or matt black finish appeals! 👍🍺🇬🇧

Quick question ... I noticed in one build log that the dashboard had a sticker for guages... I don't see that at all in my kit. Did your kit come with gauge decals? Thanks in advance!!!
It came with the decal, it should be there somewhere mate, maybe triple check everything.
If you still can't find it, contact the shop you got it from and I'm sure they can get you a replacement

Out of interest. What percentage have you set for the steering end points? We are building a mammoth that the mo. Got the chassis rolling today. Set it to what we usually do with all rigs and set it to 95% how has yours held up? Any breakages? Cheers

Super bad ass, hack that bumper upfront, take a half inch from each side. That was the only thing (from the video perspective) holding up that bad boy..

There's an operational bumper that's been cut, but I prefer to keep it real and scale lol these bumpers are what the real truck ran, so I'll run it.
i like that you didnt race it like a buggy! Also the steering is slow
I like to drive scale lol the steering is capable of being very fast due to the 46kg servos
AussieRC i meant it positive that the steering is slow :) it takes some time to steer from hard left to hard right on a truck like that, and people build super-scalers and steer like toy cars :)

Thinking of buying the mammoth can it perform crawling wise? I love the look but I'd also like it to perform
For what it is, it's crazy where it'll go. But remember firstly and foremost, it's a scale truck. It's not meant to go where your average scx10 style truck will go.
Throughout my videos of this truck you'll see it go some pretty unreal places for a truck of its size and weight, not to mention the fact its a full hardbody truck lol

@@JoeOvercoat bought the Beast ii. Its a big build as usual couldn't run it stock. Also bought a cross MC8. Will build these then tge beast and trailer over the coming 6 months. Wi stick it all on my channel 👍

It's a pretty massive truck already mate. If it was 1/10 you'd be lucky to fit it in the back of most people's car haha

Can you tell me what transmitter you use or sound card? my fly sky GT-5 does not seem to work with the RC CROSS SOUND CARD as the trigger wont activate the engine running sound.. many thanks again.

I am running out of ideas as to why the throttle trigger does not activate the engine running sound.....I am ata a total loss unless you can advise on your set up. Every other aspect of the model is running fine. Can get Horn And start up via a three position switch but nothing else. I followed the CROSS RC schematics but no go.

Wpl are terrible mate, you might think the bc8 is expensive, but the amount you get for money makes it pretty damn cheap... They are worlds apart from something like a wpl.

This truck is like no other mate! A must have!
I’m about to purchase this kit. What all would I need to complete the build. Also are still running the stock motor if not what is the upgrade that you are running/recommend?
I run the factory motor in mine mate, it's very smooth, plenty of torque and very efficient. You'll need a servo, I suggest the yeah racing 20kg metal gear waterproof servo as its only 27usd on rcmart and performs really well. For an esc I'd go with the hobbywing 1080wp esc, again great value for money with lots of settings to really help configure your truck. You'll need a battery of course but that's a given haha
Sorry... was thinking the wrong truck haha servos should be jx46 kg, esc the same, factory motor is brilliant

@@inyourearhole225 yes three servos needed, the gear changer can be a 6k servo that's pretty cheap. I honestly can't remember how long it took, I'm pretty sure paint and body work was much longer than the actual build etc. Either way it was epic fun
Can you tell me if the MAMMOTH requires a BEC as well as the ESC. I am having an issue with intermittent jerking when it runs.
Ideally you'll want to run a external bec so the servos get maximum power all the time
@@burdon84 Many thanks. the Savox servos seem to be the cause of the jerking in that they intermittenly appear to lose power so a BEC might be in order. the wiring plan from CROSS RC does not show a BEC requirement. THANKS AGAIN.
If you look at the wiring diagram in the book it does say about adding a bec to the servo board. Savox servos are very power hungry at the best of times and are no doubt a big part of your issue

These trucks are actually used for numerous jobs, whether it be large vehicle transport, troop carrying or anything else it was made to do
Jay, it’s a MAZ 537, they have had many different roles in the military and non-military roles in a variety of off road applications. It is truly the Beast, except for the rollover. Great work AusssieRC

You might wanna do some more research mate, mine was 1449usd, it's the flagship edition with all the upgrades. It comes with so many extras it's not even funny, even a free tool kit. Anyone that assumes this truck isn't worth the money, hasn't looked into it enough.
