- A classic dark ride at Silver Dollar City, the Flooded Mine was converted into a "shoot out" style ride several years back. The good news it is has seen a lot of restoration work this year for it's 50th anniversary. This was filmed before that work was done, so you can see what it looked like in 2016.
A behind the scenes look at what a former worker at Disney World, Silver Dollar City, and Busch Gardens Florida experienced in his time working at the parks. From driving large safari trucks around live wild animals while cracking one silly joke after another, to spending 5 years as a photopass photographer at Walt Disney World and seeing and experiencing all sorts of things, to being a conductor and train robber on the famous Frisco Silver Dollar Line at Silver Dollar City. With 10 years of working in the parks, there's lost of stories to tell. Here is some of them...

I hope they don't remove it but renovate it last time I went my gun didn't work at all
Fire in the hole was my favorite ride that needs a refurb, its actually WARM in there in the winter!

I LOVE the flooded mine! It's so classic. It's so Silver Dollar City! I hope they keep this awesome attraction. Maybe they'll update it?
I love this ride and I would hate to see it end. When I think "Silver Dollar City," the rides that pop up in my head are Thunderation, Wildfire, Barn Swing, Outlaw Run, Powder Keg, Fire in the Hole, And this. If they remove this, it would take away so much of my love for the park. Do you know the reason they could be removing it?
they've given it a nice refresh for it's 50th anniversary this year. So the rumors I had heard of it's removal, at least at this point, aren't true. But it's old. The building and ride itself require a lot of work to keep it going, and it's ride numbers are down. At some point they may decide that it costs more to keep it running than it's worth. Hopefully that's not anytime soon.

this reminds me of a haunted mansion theme ride in a local amusement park near my hometown. you even had the guns and infrared targets. but the funny thing is that this ride replaced what used to be a mine train themed ride. weird.

Annie Tolly Somehow, I remember liking the smells on those rides when I was a kid in the 70's and I haven't been there since when I was a young kid. I liked the wood smells on this one.
Strange, I know it is the wrong park but someone sounded a lot like Goofy to me! I definitely want to try this when I make it SDC.
As a frequent visitor and rider, I can almost guarantee it was the fellow on the pump!
This really reminds me of the Calico Mine Train at Knotts Berry Farm

Love this ride and the train. Nice to have easy stuff to do when you have been at the first aid room with your 11 year old daughter for 2 hrs. The staff there were wonderful BTW.
looks really awesome-I am physically disabledand have many serious medical conditions, so i am very sad at how much theme parks are choosing to remove rides like this (slow ones that rely on storytellong), and instead focus more on "thrill rides"-makes me feel like a second class citizen...not to mention, I am certain there are many others who dont have specific medical issues (like children, the elderly, pregnant women and people who just get motion sick) who can ONLY do thsi kind of ride.
orlendatube you should just get on outlaw run if you go back. That would be a great way to go out if you ask me.
The ride looks great this year. This is my kids' favorite ride. They have us go on it about four times per visit at least.
I used to love this ride when they had it at Dollywood!! Someone said they took it out because of snakes in the water but I think that's it's urban legend.
+Megan Hammarback I'm sure it is. I heard about the ride and as I recall it used to be where Daredevil Falls is now. More than likely with a replacement like that I was because it wasn't real popular so they put in something that would draw people intead. Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed the memories!
