    I am confused on how you got the values on the y axis, what was the calculation?

    Hi Jack,
    Did you leave a gap in the x-axis just so that you can see the dotted line marking the height of the smallest bars?

    Is it possible to use Normal PD function on the classwiz to directly return the fd values?

      The values you get are close - not exactly the same, but close

    how are we finding the percentages eg 68.27, 95.45 etc

      In your calculator, for one standard deviation either side, type min as -1, max as 1, mean as 0, sigma as 1. For two standard deviations either side, type min as -2 and max as 2, etc.

    I don't seem to find this particular topic in my book. so is it required for Edexcel spec?

      It's more of an application rather than a topic unto itself. Edexcel, like the other boards, could ask this question for evidence of your problem-solving.

    would we be asked to do these in an exam?

      There's no reason why you couldn't be asked to do something similar - it's not using anything new

    How do you split it up and get 28 when spliting into 4 standard deviation

    • @TLMaths
      @TLMaths  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4 standard deviations down from the mean = 40 - 4*3 = 28
