    Never in a million years did I think I’d ever be able to play this song, but I’ve wanted to for a very ling time! I’m almost there. Keep them coming! How about Somebody to Love by Queen? please! I’ve tried watching other tutorials and they’re just not as good as yours.

    That is an awesome song! Piano Man Steve Lungrin did a tutorial of this one a long time ago. You made it more feasible for the masses. Good work.

    Loved the more advanced tutorial!
    It is a great song, and, because the rhytm repeats itself a lot, it isn’t that hard to pick up!
    As always, a great job, Nate!

    I love this tutorial. The suggested rhythm practice at the beginning is SO helpful. I now love playing and singing this song. I appreciate that it isn't too simplified, and it comes off "as good as" Elton....or close enough to make me happy! I do not enjoy playing "simple" versions of songs. This is right on point! Thank you so much!!
    If you are taking requests: I'd love to learn "Country Comfort" by Elton John. 😃

    Hi Nate!!! Great choice of song! It is a great tutorial. The intro is a bit tricky to follow but I guess lol it is probably just a matter of replaying and reviewing it at a slower pace. The sections with the chords are amazing. I will take another look.😀🎶

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Charlie! Yes the intro is definitely the trickiest part, maybe work on the rest (you can always learn the chords but keep the rhythm simple) and then come back for the intro later?

    Totally up for some more advanced tutorials like this 👍; getting the chords down and filling out the details (and some improv 😎) is a fun approach that makes more challenging songs seem quite playable. I have many requests! For starters, *Violet* from the Seal acoustic ep? How about it, eh?

    Pausing it makes ads pop up. He goes so fast but acts like he is taking it slow. I played piano from 8-12 years old and I can't keep up with this guy. Granted,I'm 35 now but goddamn!

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rebecca! Appreciate the feedback. One tip I have would be to use the settings wheel in the bottom right and changing playback speed (50% or even slower).
      As I mentioned, this is one of the most advanced tutorials I've ever done so I had to go a bit fast to fit everything in. Check out this playlist of easier tutorials I've done: th-cam.com/play/PLyKUNsqxTQI2QXzsZDk6aMIV7khIUcWEQ.html

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hold it down while you are within a chord, qith a quick lift every time you switch to a new chord. Check out this video for more details (it's the same approach for almost every song) th-cam.com/video/GetYKdfLbgE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y-h00Dw9GK8ybH24

    this one is tricky...Nate, i think it may help viewers (ie me) if you play separate parts...intro...verse..chorus.. (with rythmic complexity) at a slower tempo before the capitulation at the end in normal time. The transitions between left hand octave bass and single note bass could be better explained, but are apparent (can be seen) on the video. For those prepared to do some work the explanation is succinct and easy to follow ... a difficult piece but well worth the effort ...many thanks and kudos to Nate who is a great teacher.

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey this is really good feedback...i think I could do more slow demonstration in my tutorials in general. Thanks!
      In the meantime, it can be helpful to adjust the playback speed (click the little settings wheel at the bottom of the video) and slow it down to 75 or 50%

    Interesting, I've played a slightly different version of this from another tutorial, but was never happy with how it sounded. This guide is perfect and sounds just like Elton.

      That's awesome to hear! It is challenging to translate his playing to something approachable for beginners/intermediate players that still sounds like him, glad I hit the mark here.

    You ask for comments about whether or not this is too hard. I think it's important to note this is NOT an easy song. As you said at the beginning, simplifying it too much would almost be like an insult to Elton--not to mention ruining the song. So it takes someone at least intermediate level playing and more than beginner understanding of music theory to follow. That is your audience. I barely play piano so I'll struggle with this. However, I've been playing guitar since 1977 ("and I only know three chords!!!") Ha! I get this and I'm looking forward to sitting down at my keys and working through this. Might take me a year, but it'll be worth it.

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback! Hope you enjoy working through the challenge. I'd suggest keeping it as a project song but keep learning some easier songs alongside it. Cheers!
