I appreciate your honesty man. I’m guessing this is going to be a one and done franchise. WBM just doesn’t have what it takes. They did their best, but their best isn’t enough.
It sucks cause Montreal really do shine at making bosses story and cinematography but they fail in optimization and just making a game work they should be a collab so they can focus on what they’re good at.
I honestly think it’s just leadership, they forced WBM and rocksteady to make co-op games
They can learn from their mistakes
You're so right, it's WBM's special ability to make a cool looking game but with terrible game design choices
@@Blballerboy it’s not even the fact that it’s a multiplayer game because multiplayer works the real issue is and you can see it from playing the game for a few hours is that they were trying to make a Batman styled marvel avengers game but marvel avengers failed and so it feels like all that delay that was spent was actually to remove as much of the live service and put in the cost downs and customization and so on and so forth.
Both this and avengers broke my heart it's a hard lesson for developers on how not to make a superhero game

I hate how all the heroes make light hearted comedic comments. I loved the Arkham games because of how serious it was, how batman was a no bullshit serious indimidating guy. But Gotham knights feels like marvel, not DC.
Shoulda just made another Arkham prequel with the nemesis system and the court of owls and possibly co op

Honestly, I played for 55 mins then got a refund. Under the steam refund page when asked why I chose the option that stated "It's not fun". Honestly this doesn't even compare next to something like Spider-Man. Honestly, I'd wager to say that Avengers had better combat moments. (such as Cap's shield kick combo) Don't play yourself folks, we don't owe these companies anything. They owe US good games if they want our money
I agree with many of your statements, you mentioned the same complaints other players have made. I am immensely disappointed the direction Gotham Knights has went, from the playing mechanics, the open world to the story that felt underwhelming in the final boss battle. The game is not worth 70 dollars in my opinion. I enjoy seeing the Bat family interact, but that had limits as well with glitches and what happened with Tim.
Its not even that bad it’s only bad for the people who hyped it up so much and comparing it to Arkham
Im doing a full co-op run with my friend and it’s honestly a lot of fun.

I could tell just by looking at the game that I wouldn't feel it. Since 2020 I saw this game scream tedious. Yikes there's no defending this. They wanted to not be arkham they succeeded 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 WB Montréal everyone. Hope the rumors of the second project are true. This studio is in serious need of redemption.

Switch the difficultly to easy and turn off all the RPG UI crap. Once I did that the combat became 10x better. Feels a lot more similar to something like Spider-man.
Everything is rudimentary, I literally replayed the arkham games after i touched this, im mad i paid 70$ i should've waited for sale
I 1000% disagree with you. I'm loving the game. I can't even make it through the trap in the second chapter and I'm still having lots of fun.
I play robin and I love the game. Wasnt feeling other characters at all. Overall I'm loving it so far
Same been maining Robin since the start and it feels like his game. I try out Red Hood every now and then but he feels so slow and his non lethal rounds bother me lol

@@WalkBesideMe i don't think that counts as an arkham type game my man. since rocksteady is done with the arkham formula, it's perfectly reasonable to fear that this game was the last hope to convince publishers that arkham type games are viable in the future. whether developed by wb montreal, or anyone else. and it's clearly not been a successful launch.
@@TheKanistan it's still in the Arkhamverse and we don't even know how the game actually plays yet so it's foolish to even assume that. Gotham Knights is not even a Arkham type game anyways it's more of AN Open world RPG beat-em up
repetitive gameplay, poor optimization, cookie cutter combat, mediocre dialogue/script, boring copy and pasted enemy types especially the brutes, outdated graphics and bland gear menu HUD UI.

Yeah I'm deep into the story and I feel the gameplay needs some variation and uniqueness bc it can get repetitive. I enjoy the story but the constant lvl ups to keep up is annoying tbh.

The thing that still shocks me is it looked like shit 6 months & I comment that then people just attack & say I’m a fucking dick. Dude look what everyone is saying? This is just overall bad but I’m the asshole? Whatever this is sad that this piss poor game is 70 dollars.

This game plays totally different from the previous Arkham Series also Gotham knights doesn't even take place after Arkham Knight this was a totally different story Batman Never Dies in Arkham Knight.
Everything about this game is very mediocre including the combat system as soon as I found out WB Montreal has developed this game I knew it was going to be complete trash just look how they treated Batman Arkham Origins the game was totally broken and they didn't have no interest of patching the game all they want is cash anything that WB Montreal developed I stay away from it until this day I never played Batman Arkham Origins just because the game has severely Breaking bugs.

and the gliding is jank. The cape doesn’t move no matter what angle you take. In a dive the cape is spread out like a regular glide.😂 truly horrendous and disgraceful this game is

I know it's not a popular opinion but I really like this game.
I'm still playing the arkham series to this day. Doing AR challanges, mostly. Getting this game would feel like a severe downgrade, personally. If you had fun, great!
Now that I figured out the upgrade system the skill trees how the game is structured and the combat system it’s working fantastic for me and I’m really enjoying it it took me a while though.
I'm liking it very much! The loop is fun like as you said. Can't wait for the finale 🔥 Yeah in the long term it might be boring
I’ve managed to complete it. Everything just felt predictable. I know it shouldn’t be compared to the Arkham Series but how it made you FEEL like YOU were the BATMAN! This game just takes all that awesome feeling away. Just feels like CrimeStoppers Simulator.. ☹️

I agree bro it’s like what is good is really good but what is bad is really bad
The first few hours for me were pretty rough. I also had fun but was annoyed with no traversal and had to unlock it. The combat is kinda hard to get used to when you play like Arkham and realize you have to learn a new system entirely. And once you get passed to hurdle of unlocking traversal, and getting more momentum moves, it gets better. I don’t like batgirls glide, the dive bomb mechanic just doesn’t feel right and it isn’t as fun as Arkham. I’ve pretty much grinded a few hours just to get to mission 2 of clay face, 3 of freeze, and 3 for Harley because I wanted to get traversal and better suits. The suits customization is good, but the transmog system is dumb where I can’t just customize the suit and have to deal with a basic black color. Once you really master the combat it can be a ton of fun. And even in coop it gets better. But I agree with the grind fest stuff its a bit much. And oh god those stupid drone things. Took me like an hour and a half to get all of them.
Honestly I think a Frame Update patch, Battle rebalance patch and a Gotham Knights: Batmans Final Case DLC (4 or 5 Hours) can salvage some of the game (No pun intended)
Agreed. Especially if they let you free roam Gotham City as Batman in the DLC. I can get down with that 👌
It’s took 3 hours for Batgirl Gliding ability
It’s took me 30 mins to a hour I am still in the beginning of the game taking my time and enjoying the game
The only thing this game did right.......was it made me realize how special AK rocksteady was. Who in their fucking right mind at that studio decided to change this ICONIC game into this basic mobile graphic RPG whatever.
those frame drops to the low 20s is nasty. ill wait to this goes on Sale. this not a $70 game respectfully.

Lol It’s just what we have feared or concerned of from everything we seen. It’s not about competing with Arkham. We just want a solid game that could stand on it’s own. And from what I’m seeing, it just fails to do just that. :p
I already got refunded for my purchase. Tried it for 80 mins, did the stealth training and grab training and was like I'm out.
Its a painfully boaring game with below Adverage everything for normies to eat up like most games soullessly are churned out these days.

The combat is the most fun part of the game for me, the traversal is mid and the stealth is also mid, I haven’t done that many story missions but the story doesn’t seem bad

How is it not the developers fault? they made this, and I am more than confident that this studio will NEVER get to make a game at this budget and scale again, whatever second game they have in development I bet will be moved to a different studio.

A lot of the criticisms I see are confusing.
A lot of the comments in this section are saying that they don't care if the game isn't like an Arkham game, but keep pointing out how it isn't anything like the Arkham games?
I didn't know there was going to be ranked enemies and RPG elements. That sucks. I'm sure it was well advertised and shown for a long time, but for some reason I didn't notice. Maybe its because most open worlds these days are incorporating it.
And this game's world looks like playdoh or clay. Its the way the lighting gleams off it. Doesn't look good at all.
The first demo showed the dumb damage numbers and levels 😂😂

Fighting the brutes is so boring
The graphics are very identical from the previous generation when Batman Arkham Knight has released 7 years ago on ps4 and XB1 there's nothing generation about Gotham knights. The whole point is the gameplay got to be on point and from just looking at various different reviews from different Channel on TH-cam I see how the gameplay is it's not very appealing the combat system feel very sluggish and clunky and why should somebody have to keep dodging every time you fight against artificial intelligence you didn't have to do that in the previous Arkham Series the combo system was free flow and fast pace that was definitely improved it was very satisfying.
Also the Batmobile motorcycle is totally trash it looks boring by any means necessary I feel like they could have done better they should have added more interesting animation mechanic especially when it comes to the combo system and WB Montreal should never have removed the Parry mechanic that's part of the free flow combos when you are surrounded with different enemies on the game you can extend your combos perfectly best believe I'm going to stay away from this trash bag mediocre game by any means necessary.

The time trials are piss easy you shouldn’t have failed in the first place
@@justinserrano4506 The traversal time trials can be quite tricky especially as the game doesn't feel fine tuned for precision grappling
Gotham Knights looks and plays great on the series X, the new game plus and Heroic Assault mode 40 levels of 4 player co op...this game is great

Watched this when I was a decent bit through the game didn’t understand then finished the game and now I completely understand
The gameplay is a bit repetitive and the traversal is a slog but I’m solely in it for the story. And I’m enjoying the story so the negatives don’t bother me that much. But if the story didn’t interest me as it does I would be much more upset.

It feels like they tried too hard to have a different system then Arkham that it ended up having some things that improve on what Arkham did, and other stuff just drag’s because of it. If they make a sequel hopefully they realize that and fix it but overall I do like it I just think there are some area’s they can improve on that they tried to make sure it wasn’t too much like Arkham

Yeah this game is making me want to build a time machine and fast forward to November 11th to play you know what.
Personally I'm having fun because I'm a nightwing fan boy so I'm gonna like it even tho I recognize its big flaws but I wonder if this game can pull a cyberpunk and they make it good later on but for right now it has big flaws
its not the devs fault they made a crap game we need to stop giving devs a pass on things so frequently if monetization decisions are made that we hate fair enough not devs decisions but they are the ones that designed the mechanics and story for the games we play us giving pass on devs might be one of the reasons modern gaming has gotten so bad
Only think I dislike about it is the traversal isn’t unlocked fast and yeah the brutes are kinda meh. I agree with that but I’m gonna play as all 4 characters throughout the game for certain scenarios to make the gameplay better
All I did was watch the whole movie cutscenes...and even that is dissapointing AF!

finished the game last night playing robin, story is alright , but the game is average and mediocre. Cringe dialog and stiff animations. Im really for suicide squad kill the justice league.
I have not played this game personally please do not hate me, but I feel like at the ending of the game he should have lived. Batman should have survived instead of sacrificing himself again I thought they were going to be two options to this game. One have him be revived and fight you and him being too far gone so you have to kill him. 2 or you get through to him and You take him back to the hideout and he becomes Batman again but no, he sacrificed himself again. Why couldn’t he have just auto piloted the bat wing to blow up the Lazarus pit without him dying again, I swear if they make a sequel to this game Batman better be alive like you could’ve had the Gotham knights be playable in this game and still have Batman in this game. You didn’t have to kill him sure, did it work for the main story yes, but why did he have to sacrifice himself again that just doesn’t make sense to me keep in mind I have not played it, so don’t attack me please

All the little things pile up to big garbage for this game to me. The traversal is ugly. It’s not even physical possible to grapnel like that. The car driving is jank. Combat flow isn’t there with all of the dodging and ranged enemies with no indicator. Ending is predictable soon as you see the first cutscene.

🤔 If you can read the menus properly and grind properly, you can unlock majority of the abilities and even you movement early in the game.....😒😅 The developers even said this game is not Arkhams Batman. A friend and I destroyed this game on hard mode and we are gearing up for NG+. TOO HYPED!!! "Comparison is the thief of joy."👌

The only thing that needs milking is your IQ.
Just a lot of their design choices are dumb and it bogs the game down. Everyone the story gets interesting it rips you out, the traversal mechanics are lacking fluidity and speed. The combat feels slow and bullet spongey enemies are so dumb. I think this game def was supposed to be live service too, and they changed their vision after the avengers disaster. I’ve been having some fun with the game, but it’s grindy for no reason.
