@@katrinasept9175 Hi there! So I use a apple MAC Computer and the software I use to design is Adobe illustrator. Hope this helps! :)

This is amazing, you have a lovely eye for design - the problem here though (for a small startup) is that you would need to pay for the full printing on the box and on the candle which can be quite expensive. The concept of changing the colours and the quotes when most companies have a large MOQ just for one design - would bankrupt me very quickly :-( For me I’ve had to opt for a sticker label - so the design challenge is label design, should it be white or clear. Should it be a little label or a wrap around - where to position the writing. Choosing a font is also quite hard.

That’s why I thought at the end of the video...
Naah it’s quite easy, if you have photoshop for example you can search for mock-up where you can drag ur design onto it and most of them automatically fit perfectly. So 90% of the time putting it on a mock-up is quite easy
If you have illustrator it's quite easy just use the perspective tool once the perspective grid comes out align it how you want your mockup to look in space on the perspective tool widget make sure you click the right side of the 3D cube that you want to work with drag your label and it should snap onto the 3D mockup.

1. where do you find your mock up images from?
2. How did you wrap the logo etc around the candle and on the box, it's amazing to see, wish I could do this!
3. Can you do a tutorial just on that? On how to find the images, the process of getting the lables you create on the box/jar/packaing/candle etc because that is literally what I've been searching for everywhere and can not find!

I could see these coming in a set of 4 in a subscription type box so the quotes could sit on top of each individual top and when the box opens those are what you read vs the logo over and over...

Hey, the size is based on the mock up size. Normally you’d get the template from the box supplier and the dimensions will be on there. I use Adobe illustrator to create the designs and then photoshop to add it to the mock up x

So if this was actual project with a client I would need a template from their packaging supplier to work with. The supplier should give information about what material is being used too☺️

How much would you charge to design other people box and candle labels
I only take on clients who want a whole branding process, stuff like packaging design would be an extra on top of this 😊
I loved the process from start to finish, plus I think the colours were perfect. I also loved the idea behind the brand niche and the quotes, very cool (it's the little things y'know 😊 ). The packaging is very attractive and something that'd definitely catch my eye.

I've been a primarily a print & digital designer since 1999. Yeah, I'm old. But one of my long time food truck clients just entered into the fresh packaged retail food business so here I am venturing into food label design. Suprising how much compliance/required info goes into food label design. Not too mention how much I'm having to draw upon the psychology of color theory & element placement I'm having to draw upon. I have a whole new respect for packaging designers.
thanks you for your respect , im working as packing designer since 2017 , it was good experience for me but most time im facing issue about design idea , i got stuck many times also i had issue with how to choose right font , but most of my designs get client satisfaction

These look like ready made photoshop mock-ups available online. :) ( apologies if I’m wrong)
These are Photoshop mockup just place the image and save and it shows directly on the package

Thank you!! My tip would be to do some courses on both of them to know the basics of each software and then use your time to just play around with it!! I’ve learnt the best things is just just do it!! Try and crate your own brand, make some other brands and logos and you’ll learn as you go💛
I totally dig the color you use for the packaging!
Adding black as a combination of the pastel colors makes it feel luxurious and befitting the brand niche which makes candles as a gift (I mean of course you would want your gift to look lux to your recipient)
I've watched several of your branding videos and so far I've always liked your choice of color palettes! I think color picking is definitely your strong suit! 🤩👍

So I made a palette with hex codes, but they don't show up the same on illustrator and photoshop even if I switch to rgb instead of CMYK on illustrator. Is there a solution to this?

The labels look to feminine to be a realistic label for an acholic beverage. Color palettes need to be thought over.

It’s cute packaging, but i feel like you don’t really put much thought in your designs, it feels like every crucial step is rushed but it could be due to that it’s a video and you can’t show the “whole” process but it seems like something is always missing. It’s “cute” but not great.
Thanks for your opinion but you said it yourself it's a 'video' obviously I can't show the whole process otherwise the video would be ridiculous long, this was just for fun to get the creative juices flowing and a lot of people enjoyed it, so maybe you should give it a go 😊

Don't think I'd have the time! 😂 Between Client work, TH-cam and the content I put out on Instagram some days I barely have time to think! But maybe one day, I like the thought of a stationary business that sells a really unique and specialised to do list/ planner or something like that!

I only really work with people when designing their brand from scratch or completely redesigning their existing branding, then if they want packaging design included within that then yes I do it. The reason for this is because when working with brands that someone else has previously designed there is often missing files, logo variations and more, making the whole process a bit messy! I love your videos and intend to go through your back catalog when I get the chance, but just in case I can't find it there, here is my question. How do you measure things? Where do you find mockups? I love watching you zip around and play with ideas, but it is the technical things that I don't know at all. How do you determine measurements? Why do you prefer Procreate for some aspects of your design.? How do you move things from Illustrator to Procreate and back again? How would you go about saving this and giving the complete file, to your client? That is the nuts and bolts stuff that I am lost with and would need to know if I were to consider producing something for a client and marketing myself as a legitimate graphic designer. In all seriousness though, your videos are ones I click on most eagerly when new ones pop up.
That looks sick, really nice end product, beautiful balance of texture and clean design.
I rekon if the texture from the abstract strokes carried over to the large type then that would tie it together that little bit more.

Thanks so much!! Yes was thinking that but didn’t want to go too OTT with the strokes whilst keeping the individual letters on there. Learning that less can be more with things like this, but thank you for the feedback really appreciate it 🙌🏻
