my 2021 UK spec RSQ3 I just got last week doesn't have google maps. I even paid the 115 quid for the yearly subscription to the "online" upgraded navigation from the Audi app. I could see why Google wouldn't be standard because then nobody would use Audi's maps but when I pay 115 quid for a yearly subscription I expect Google to come with the upgrade.
Audi released a patch that allows you to activate google earth for maps but you need to have a specific tipe off mmi and a grafic card installed on your car. This can be done by your dealership
Apparently the hardware in 2017/2018 is not compatible with the new software layer in the latest Google maps…what a disappointment…however I realised that Google maps app works just the same via CarPlay…oh well…

well not really the same. You can't have it in front of you, only on the smaller screen. And it doesn't tell you which ramp to get on or off the highways, etc. Disappointment.
Its not the fact they dont support it. Its a subscription base.....Car only comes with it I believe for the first 3 yrs like most other manufacturers onboard GPS system. Its also because your hardware is old. Google updates has changed the way how their maps and android works on vehicles.
Like every option, Google Maps expires in 2 years . Yes, it is true that there are no renewals for free, those options are now paid for. But it can still work for free, you need: Insert a sim card that has internet or use it with a tel hotspot and 3D maps will work 100%

I got that notification for my 2018 Q5... Satellite view was the deciding reason I chose the car. And obviously they didn't lower the cost of the service.

For the older Audi's until 2018 there is a software-update available. Just ask your dealer to install it on the MMI or if it's compatible.

There is a workaround that re-activates the Google Earth… it’s a script that needs to be installed (connected to VIN).
