I feel you totally. Did this job for 2 months. It’s crazy what they expect the drivers to do. I was up to 185 stops. From the time I’d pull in to load and carts weren’t even ready to the extreme conditions outside and their monitoring your every move. You made the right decision to get outta there. Hope you found something better 👍

Its a good job for someone who needs money and a steady income for a while and during that time you work toward a better job or career.
I am a driver for Amazon, I love it, yeah its hard work, but it is also great in many ways.
I go out alone every day, nobody bothers me, I never look at the clock and think, how much longer, the time flies by, I am always running fast to end early if I can and each day is like a new round of golf, or some sporting event.
you have a certain amount of time to drop off all these packages, they based it on your abilities, so the challenge is simple, stay busy, organize yourself well and get it done, if you do it right, it's fun and easy and you can do well until you find your path in life.
there are a lot of better jobs out there, this is not a career, so definitely move on from Amazon when you can, but it is a good pace to learn a good work ethic and get in shape while making money.

I just quit Amazon today. They gave me 344 packages to deliver. My van was so packed I couldn’t even move around in the van, I had to crawl over tote bags just to get overflow packages. That’s when I realized I’m worth more than this. I only delivered 4 packages then I headed back to the fulfillment center, left all of their work stuff in the van along with all those packages and left. I’m not going to over work and break my spine for some chump change. Then you get mad that I get overtime? Sorry not sorry. Eff dat.

So let's say he did get up and help right? How is he gonna scan the packages? You HAVE to scan the packages to mark them as Delivered....
At best all he can do is run the packages up to the door and walk away.... which is NOT gonna help him
Now if there was a way that he can also get a 2nd Rabbit (The phone Amazon provides you) and they both are linked to the route.... THEN that would be possible.... But you can only work off one phone at a time

If you need advice on how to make it doable hit me up, lots of secrets to the delivery game any route is manageable with the right attitude and mind set, this job is cake if you do everything right, stay safe, you was killing me cause everything you was saying I felt just like that. Believe in you, do you, if you wake up with a positive attitude every day and set out to do your best each day, you will succeed no matter what you end up doing.
If you have a goal, and a plan to achieve that goal, then the rest is easy, you just keep a positive attitude, keep looking forward, and set goals, always have a goal you are working and another ready to go for when you accomplish your current goals.
There is no better feeling that accomplishing a goal you set for yourself.
If you want to be a good dad, be positive, present, and goal oriented, people will take you seriously, your son will learn good values and hard work, and you will grow as a man each and every day that you work toward a goal and stay positive.
Don't make excuses, or blame others for your BS, just work hard, stay positive and work your goals.

Some days the route is really hard some days not bad at all. I’m just thankful to have the work so far they seem pretty patient with me. I thought delivery driving would be easier than warehouse. Man was I wrong! I worked in an Amazon warehouse for 2 years during Covid. The benefits and overtime pay were waaayyyy better. But the tradeoff is driving is a bit easier on the body than the warehouse, but productivity rates are more demanding and dispatchers will threaten to fire you in 2 weeks if you don't pick up the pace.

I work out in Syosset. Today, i just did 357 pkgs and 152 stops. We don't have any step vans, or Rivian Vans, so we have to settle for the crappy ProMasters. The A/C is weak, there's no ventilation in the cargo area, so it's pretty much as hot as H*ll itself. Managers don't care if you usually finish quickly; if you're falling behind because of things out of your control (like traffic) then they still berate you. My DSP has this culture where *rescues* are frowned upon, yet the workload isn't evenly distributed. The quicker you are, the more work they give you; they scheduled me 4 days in a row, and by Saturday, I'm fatigued, but they don't care. You're just a disposal robot to them; if you don't meet their unrealistic expectations, they'll just get someone else. No sense in killing yourself for them when they think so little of you. I'm moving onto unionized freight soon; Amazon is just a stepping stone for the time being. Get out while you can. I'd never recommended it to anyone longterm, unless your goal is to start your own DSP.
For $20/hr it's not worth it. Go to FedEx or UPS. The workload is there but at least you're appropriately compensated (moreso UPS)

I understand this strict on following the hours of service and regulations, doesn't mean they can't give me 5 days, It doesn't mean I can't work 5 days and then they have me come in as a rescue driver for a few hours before the time cuts short of hours of service.... At least get me in a little bit, But the money seems so small because the hours of service cuts us off, at least put in a placement where we can sign the waiver saying we don't want overtime hours, But 4 days a week and cutting it I ain't a teenager, I'm not acceptable for childlike money 500 weeks ain't cutting it😅😅😅😅

I feel you! I did Fedex during the summer of 2020 in 100° weather and i hated every minute of it. Now I'm forced to do Amazon again because i couldnt find any other job and I need to pay the bills. But i think you got to keep a positive mindset if you want to do this type of job otherwise it'll drain you quickly.

To any anyone thinking about joining Amazon. This job is an excellent opportunity to make at least $20 an hour, at least where I live. Just make sure they are respectful and that you take your time(
utilizing safety features in the van like handles and walking slower if you live in an area with snow or slippery conditions(I never slipped, it was my mission)and maybe do some working out on the side as doing this for 15 plus years is what I kind of credit to making me able).

I almost got myself killed today, I did not correctly engaged the parking brake on the van so the van start rolling down the street, I ran in front of the van to stop it but it was slippery from the snow, I slipped right at the front of the van while it was rolling I was literally under the front bomber trying not to get runover luckily I managed to get myself away from the van's way followed it jumped inside and stopped it. both of my hands lightly injured and my back hurt, I'm quitting tomorrow, my boss is a nice person, but this job is not for me especially in this cold and gloomy days of Michigan.

@@aliabbadi9149 how would you stop it by getting in the front?
Don’t quit. If your boss is nice can you talk to them and see if you can figure out a way to make you more comfortable, or maybe figure out if there is somewhere else you could have parked. Can you wear warmer clothes? Are there any other challenges?

@@keegancan As I came to a delivery stop I pressed the parking brake button, but I didn't look to the small screen in the dashboard to confirm the van is in park. I went to scan a box in the back when I stepped out to deliver I closed the sliding door which made the van to roll out because it was not in park, when the van start rolling I ran in front of it to get to the driver door (I was supposed to run behind it but I did the opposite) unfortunately I slipped from the icy road right in front of the moving van, the next thing I saw was the front bumper in my face as I tried to get up quick, didn't know how I got myself away from that rolling van and jumping inside to stopped it, there was a lady walking her dog, she was screaming when she saw me almost ran over by the van, she helped gather my glasses my beanie and the Amazon device which was ran by both front and rear tires, luckily the snow was thick and fluffy the device made it. It was bent a little. The temperature was like 7⁰F yesterday. Long story short I quit this job, it was too much for me, my body hurt from running all day and my shoulder hurt from the fall and the weather made it so difficult too I went to the warehouse to give them the badge and the vest they gave me, it wasn't worth it.

Flex is not worth it unless you have a specific van or small car that you use for it and on top of that once you calculate the amount of gas you are using versus the amount you are actually getting paid out for the route it becomes pointless , yes u may have less packages but you are putting ALOT of miles on your personal vehicle , the largest route I’ve ever done was a 5 hour and that was $200 but by the time I put gas in my truck when I was done, half that 200 was gone , so I say work through a contracting company with their vans versus flex , at least you get paid by the hour and not driving your personal vehicle.
