The RAW mode is something most of the reviewers skip, don't know why. You were absolutely spot on with that and also with the whole comparision. Great Video.
If you are an experienced RAW shooter on Samsung you should know (unlike the author of this video) that Samsung strangely enough has 2 different RAWs. The one in the “Expert RAW” mode is worse than the RAW in the ordinary Pro mode.
I still don’t understand why Google still to this day has not addressed the ridiculous over sharpening on the 2x portraits with human subjects. It’s terrible.
3x zoom is actually hybrid zoom, not only digital cropp. Pixel uses 5x shot for the inner part of the 3x+ photos, and melds it with 2x crop in the outer frame.
I'm sorry Samsung but the camera is not onpaar with Pixel 8 Pro. couldn't find even one situation where Samsung makes better photos. Pixel color science and computational photography are unmatched. (I know it is subjective nevertheless)
I had 8 Pro. I just bought S24 Ultra, I love it been out taking pics for last two days, overall S24 Ultra is better, as there is no need to edit dark pics anymore. Indoor pics on both are not 100%, but future updates will improve this, I have no regrets I'm happy to say. 😊
Thanks Dan, people want to get the camera assistant from the Samsung store and Good lock apps, I've come from 8 Pro to S24 Ultra, no regrets so far pics are brighter and with the Samsung app camera assistant, it's been great today comparing to without the app yesterday. Gonna watch now. ❤😊xx
50 MP mode was already the sweetspot on the S23U. 200MP has been pretty bad so far. I guess it is a hardware limitation due to the relatively small HP2 sensor.

S24 Ultra software came in a bit hot and rushed, there's going to be an update to its camera to fix some issues and performance in the relative near future. With that said the S24 Ultra, even its sub optimal state, is still holding its own.
Yea. Though I appreciate early reviews, from my experience with both Galaxy S's and Pixel phones, they get noticeably better after the first few updates, photo/video wise. I wish more of these content creators would do day 1 reviews as they do, but then a 3 month followup etc. I went on vacation a few weeks after I got the S21 Ultra when it came out. We liked the place we stayed at so much we revisted it the next year. The photos I took the 2nd visit were night and day better than the 1st visit. As if I took them from a different and newer phone all together. Similar expereicnes with the Pixel 2, 3 and 4 XL's when I had them.

Samsung image processing is horrid. Pixel 8 Pro is amazingly detailed camera especially at 50mp full resolution even at 10x zoom. Why do you keep saying you're surprised how better the Pixel is??
Question. Does anyone have a clicking sound on their pixel 8 pro while you shake it left and right?? I did drop mine with the a case and the phone did look and function fine but when i took it out the case and shaked it left and right i could hear a bit of light clicking sound around where the camera is. I dont know if it always have that even before i dropped it with the case or its originally supposed to be like that? Thanks for the great review!😊
...Not actually a clicking sound, but definately sounds like something is rattling/moving inside🤔 Have dropped it half a meter a couple of times but uses a protective spigen case. Overall satisfied with the phone. It's not the fastest around and I wish the sound could be better/louder.
I'm disagreeing with some points. First of all, I think there are often HDR-Issues in the s24 which is really annoying. I think especially the exposure in harsh lighting conditions is way better the the Pixel. In Night shots I feel like the Samsung gets a higher dynamic range and there are less burned out areas. But on the other side there are often some parts that just get into one colour without any details especially while zooming. I think overall the Google hat besser Video, Night shots and the better ultra wide camera. But the front camera and portraits are so so bad, Google has to fix a lot!
There are many people complaining the reason why the s24 is being compared without getting any updates bla,bla when Google releses its telephones nothing happes Google coparers its phones without getting updates too 😒😒😒😒
I just bought a Pixel 8 Pro after literally decades with Samsung and I was so very disappointed at how bland, soft and dark the pictures were. Then I realized I was used to Samsung's bright, highly sharp and perhaps overly vibrant pictures. Even in the comparisons in this video I would have picked the Samsung although you said the Pixel looks better. I think I need to get used to the more "natural" and true to life looking pictures of the Pixel and not the "artificial" ones of the Samsung.
I sent my S24U back and keeping my S23U, thought it can handle finally moving objects but I was wrong. Also coulours were bad, night pictures blurry and display was washed out. A lot of people sent it back. Don’t know why nobody is talking about that. S23U still 👑
Get a Samsung if you like taking pictures of useless inanimate objects from random distances. Get a pixel if you know people and hang out with them in both indoor and outdoor settings during various times of day and night.

Galaxy s24 ultra cameras are simply amazing pixels too I love how samsung fixed the night shots and their daytime shots both phones have extremely good processing power I choose samsung because samsung did a lot of hardwork to make their cameras amazing however I am not hating on the pixel but pixel needs to improve on their cameras hardware as not only samsung has 200 megapixel sensor but a lot of chinese manufacturers like xiaomi vivo or oppo have 200 megapixel sensor google needs to step up

Only if the Pixel had a ecosystem like Samsung and Apple. The pixel watch and pixel tablet are basically mediocre and gimmicky compared to the other competition's products.
Pixel has some way to go, but until Apple starts making smartphones and smart speakers, there is not much of an eco-system there either :) Also, Apple products work terribly with other brands.
Samsung always makes the colors look so unrealistic and too bright. They've always done that and I don't understand why. If they're using Android programming why it wouldn't be similar. I know they're not using the pixel AI to make better photos, but it still doesn't explain why they're always too bright compared to what you see with your own vision
It doesn't look food for the s24 ultra so far. Even when it wins it wins barely , the others are very close, but when it loses though ,it loses BIG TIME it looks like a 4 year old smartphone.
I am looking forward to a raw photo comparison between pixel and the Samsung, both edited in Lightroom with adobe standard colour profiles. Samsung still keeps its horrible software interpretation algorithms into raw as well. I just keep my edited raw on my 8 pro, also got the cobalt colour natural colour profiles, I get the most of the performance on my pixel photography.
I think instead of using Expert Raw, you shouldve compared the normal Raw mode on s24U. Expert Raw has known issues with its raw files and Samsung is aware of them but refuses to fix them. The normal Raw mode is much much better with a lot of latitude and much less artifacts
why the f do people care so much for what are the most minimalistic differences between cameras. I can understand professional photographer being this anal, but seriously who the hell cares among others.

Regular people don't use raw mode, and there's only so much information you can put in a video before people start getting bored

Colour is so important, if you miss it then you miss the meaning of photography.
Unfortunately the S24 Ultra is out of the games because of it.
Color you can fix in post but details nothing can be done about.

s24 ultra is such a minor upgrade over s23 ultra while pixel 8 made major leaps over 7 pro. Pixel is miles ahead in my opinion

For a full RAW in Samsung you better avoid “Expert RAW” mode. RAW shot in ordinary Pro mode has a better dynamic range.

I have pixel 7 and i always had that sound, it doesnt bother me.

Haven’t tried the s24 ultra, but I can tell you, after using my 8 pro for about 2 months, the pictures look very artificial sometimes.

The galaxy is way overrated from a photographer’s point I’d go for the pixel any day.

Didn't find anything good with p8p, so traded that in for s24ultra. Its not perfect but much better than p8p.
