    I learned to grind primarily Blade Down by Chad Osborne. Ive only recently begun grinding blade up and appreciating how much more I can see what Im doing when grinding to my blade edge. When I flip back blade down it makes it real easy to clean everything up and match both sides.

    That won't exactly make daggers easy, but it certainly can help.
    Bit of random trivia, my first attempt at making a knife was a dagger (not a quillon dagger, but it was double edged), the hardest part was that I was trying to create convex bevels using a bench grinder. The result was unsurprisingly terrible, but I wish that I still had it to compare to my more recent work.

    Curious as to the best place to find 1"/25mm contact wheels at?

      I suggest starting with the guys you purchased your grinder from.

    Neels, Great advice but how do you keep it from making a thin edge when using this technique?

    Neels, I'm considering getting a disc sander (I'm in South Africa) for knife making what brand/make would you suggest? Great video as usual!

      Ross Moffett - I have a Herbst and a Northwest disc sander. You are welcome to pop in and play on them both defore you decide to buy.

    Is there a specific reason for using a 1"/25mm belt and not a 2"/50mm belt? What are the pros and cons of 1" VS 2" belts?

    • @NeelsVandenBerg
      @NeelsVandenBerg  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, that's easy ... I only have the 40mm diameter wheel in 25mm wide ... ;)

    Dear Mr Neels Vandenburg I am new to this industry which I got into for all the right reasons which is to get laid. None the less the reason for this correspondence is an official / non-official " cease and assist " and warning that you are using my patented ( pending ) JGRIND 2000 grinding machine which I personally designed. I understand this is of the most awkward situation but we are still buddies. ( just don't use my machine ) we can settle this act of piracy out of court. I noticed you had this sick bad ass dagger you made! I want it, just send me the dagger and you can use my machine. Thank you very much your friend Jay ( owner of the JGRIND 2000 )
