Most of us who natively speak arabic find it easy to do the fast runs /semitones and scales because they are in every arabic song ever so we do it without even realising that we're doing it. We call it 'orab'
Excellent analysis of a song I'd not seen of her's before and so good to understand a little more about the Arabic musical style. Agree totally about how she sings in the sweat spot of her vocal range which then makes her higher notes stand out. Singers who start high have less room to go during a song and thus a flatter less interesting performance. She's young and stil developing as a singer, but she's still be able to sing this song in 20 or 30 years time without having to transpose the song down in key.
Kia Ora... OMG... My first time finding a kiwi vocal coach. Tumeke. Faouzia makes interesting choices in how she's going to story tell with her voice. Very elegant.
Greetings from Lithuania! I have become your fan after this video. :)) I am 28, I have been singing since I was 7, but in the past 8 years I am not really practicing... but I loved singing so much. Your video and Faouzia have inspired me to start all over again. ♥
Always enjoyable and Amazing analyse ! I becoming addict to your professionnal reactions ! Please react to "crazy" cover by Faouzia...just mind-blowing !!!
Those runs are super hard but super common and super beautiful in middle eastern songs. Each countries in middle east has thier own style of that . Iranian one is pretty too

pls react to her stripped song Born Without A Heart, it is really beautiful. also, if you react to her cover of Say Something as a 13 yr. old, you'll see that her voice sounds almost exactly the same as now, so there is some natural talent there ;) btw loved this reaction!

Thank you for checking this out. My favorite song of hers might be Bad Dreams, she wrote it when she was 14 if i'm not wrong, the lyrics are so good as well. Btw, since you mention belting a lot, have you thought about checking out Sohyang's "Everyone" performance? You may have alot to talk since she her mix is insane (not only her mix though), she's praised by well known singers and vocal coaches here as well. Since she doesn't like being famous and sings for god, she might be the most famous unfamous singer :D If you'd do it one day, please use the vimeo version since it may have subtitles and is a bit safer with copyright reasons. :)
Great thank you for the heads up! I will take a look. Yeah belting is one of those things that people often think is unachievable, but it is easier than you think.
I agree with u that there are certain notes (voices) that ALL singers can achieve with practice the help of vocal coaches. but that's as far as I can go, before I draw a line. I think Faouzia & most talented singers are gifted with certain quality to their voice at a very young age, it just comes easy to them without effort. actually, did u know, Faouzia Older sister worked so hard to become a singer, & yes she took singing lessons too. she couldn't do it as good as her younger sister, that didn't take any lessons & yet, she blew her older sister out of the park at a very young age! There is so much to unpack here I am not sure where to begin. Firstly, I am not an alto like Faouzia, it would sound terrible it I tried to sing like her. Secondly, she has had a lot of music education and lessons. You can not discount the instrumental lessons. There are many singers who can sing just as well but they do not make it to the top. Faouzia is fabulous but she herself would also say there are plenty of other equally fabulous singers in the world.
I’m sorry but you sound nothing like her. She has complete control of her vocals. Faouzia sounds like a natural singer. She is passionate, spiritual and haunting. I love her.
I love Faouzia. But she sounded nervous in the beginning. And I am so attached to the original version, I don’t prefer this one. Oh well. That’s ok. I do appreciate your comments. Thanks.
She is a definite top pick for me too. Do you think? I reckon anyone would be in those circumstances at such a high flying event. ;) Nerves drive us to do better.
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Having heard this now a couple of times, I can hear things she does better than Sting’s original. And that’s his studio version. Plus she sings Cheb Nami’s part of the song too. I still think this one was a stretch, but she did an admirable job. And still a lovely voice.

Her haunting and emotive vocals sent shivers down my spine. Faouzia's incredible vocals exude maturity and control well beyond her age.

She sings since she was 6 and now she is 20
