      Indeed! I think that's one of Emily's horses and there are some videos with him, too.

    Even though I don't have horses I really enjoy watching the many successful journeys you work through in complete style. A great talent you have!

      Here also. I used to ride my uncles horses. Loved this. I would be afraid now after 2 back surgeries. Still love them.

    I love how he at least started with his head down. You're always capable of making such tremendous breakthroughs in such a short period of time. 💪 A true gift! 🙏

    I am continuing my colts' training with your fundamental videos. He has had 30 days on him and now it's on me to keep up the training. We worked on one rein stops, disengage the hindquarters and the relaxed rein. I even trotted today and he was very responsive. Now to keep this up for 4 more days. TY Ryan

    I like your feel and softness as you worked with the horse. I have a nice horse who is really tough to get the right lead. At 56 years old, I have someone working (successfully) with him to get it. I like to think that all the "prep" work I have done with him has it made it easier for her to get him loping around on the right. I am going to add your preps to my plan. Thanks!

    I just got home from my riding lesson and the school horse has problems picking up the right lead. My instructor, who is a barrel racer and an amazing horsewoman, was having me do the counter bend to get him into the right lead. I couldn’t do it. She got on him and she did it but it took a while. I was happy he gave her a hard time as well. LOL I would love to try this on him, but it’s not my horse so I’ll just keep doing what she says. I hope he figures it out soon. He has a great and comfy canter (left lead)! I just want to ride! 😊

    Could you make a video about using your body and not the reins to control the movemnts? I was never taught that when I was young and used to have riding lessons. Also how do you make them trot or canter? They used to tell me to trot, I need to kick my legs a bit or make a clicking sound. Even though I haven't been on a horse for years (and God only know when I'm going to have a chance to ride again), I'd love to learn, your videos are so informative. Thanks in advance!

    Has he been vet checked for any physical issues

      Well in my long experience..horses have hand, side, leg
      Preferences….as do humans..most humans are right handed..( not me) and most horses are left handed..( not my Morgan mare) but the others were….watch your horses, horses in general..in the pasture.. most prefer the left. This is why most barrel racers. go for the right barrel first.. cause it makes 1 right and 2 lefts.. just to be aware and the veterinary’s don’t need any more $$ at least here in Wy.
      S….

    Was it raining a lot right before this video? If not, that horse sure is sweaty for one that just started a ride.

    Ryan please can you write out the order of cues when you are releasing to right lead in order to create the counter bend and then the release? I’m confused 😂 and I want to practice in my head before I do it on my horse, thank you!

  • @healthcubes

    So it was no physical issue?

    • @user-mb1hg4qu9f
      @user-mb1hg4qu9f หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably not. He more or less requires a complete physical for "problem " horses before training to rule out discomfort. Plus, his wife is a certified equine physiotherapist.

    A riding issue. Most owners (including me!) need more tools in the toolbox!

  • @Kelly19217
    @Kelly19217 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My concern firstly would be to have him checked out could be a physical problem, then if ok would make me think when he’s been ridden the rider hasn’t been consistent on riding him equally on both leads, I know horses have a preferential lead rein, but they need to keep alternating.

    Its interesting to watch him at the canter. Hes either traveling hallow backed or flat backed; almost like he isnt really engaging his hind end at the canter and rounding his back at all. Is the lead issue possibly related to that? Maybe im way off in my observation? He sure is a cute guy!

    He almost looks like something might be out in his neck or back. It could be the reason he's not flexing properly just a idea.
