There is no denying the defining presence and spirit that is The Black Crowes, what brings every song up into the uncharted musical stratosphere well Marc Ford PERIOD.
I was at this one! One of 2 nights at the Orpheum. Saw both shows! Got to meet Johnny Colt & Eddie Harsch (RIP) before the gig! They strolled into a Dunkin Donuts down the street from the venue. Johnny was in his own world, but Eddie was SUPER cool. Very down to Earth and personable. Both shows were decent - not great - as this was the Crowes at their druggiest. Also! Can't forget to mention the Penny Lane wannabe standing behind me who was screaming "PLAY 'GIRL FROM A PAWNSHOP'!!!!!" at the top of her lungs! And when they finally did?? She went completely ape-shit..jumping up & down and spilled her beer...all down my back!! Good times!! haha
this was suppose to be the time where marc was too high to play, I have yet to see anything like that on youtube, starting to think the brothers robinson were just pointing the finger at somebody. Blame Marcs addiction when they didnt want to face their own. Another great show Marc.
Marc Ford is by far the best guitarist they ever had.....period! I saw them in April of 93 on the High As The Moon tour....still one of the best shows I ever saw in my life. I saw them again in 08 on the Warpaint tour and they were great, but that 93 show was absolutely AMAZING!!!!
Some shows back then it was obvious that Marc was too high. I witnessed a couple, but if you caught the shows when he was just high enough it was rapturous.
Saw both shows and i think one in Hartford ct at The Meadows ? Thinking Govt Mule opened both showes , the thing that stsnds out is the way Johnny Colt would play into Mark Ford... in my opinion the best lead guitar and bass fit the crowes ever had in spite of being diluted at times buy narcotics , shit it happens to the best of us at times....the second night Hard to Handle JAM became a legend, especially here and on the Fillmore recording!
THE FUN TIMES MADE SO MANY FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE FROM TALLER, HAD A GREAT TIME WISH THEY WOULD ALL GET BACK TOGETHER, BEST LINE----UP MARC FORD YOU ROCK.................
@@jimtaylor519 cool. saw him 3 times, actually. excellent guitarist. it's just too bad Alan Woody had to die.got to talk to him once.his accent was so thickly Southern, I wasn't understanding him.
he takes a good snippet, it seems, here and there from 'Band of Gypsies'. that Strat sound which'd make a lot of stuff sound like BOG's. I mean ,it's Southern Rock, but the 'rock ' part's what matters.
Who the hell shoots concert footage and only focuses the camera on one (rarely two) members of the band ? Especially when the most noted performer Chris Robinson isn't in ANY shots. Was an Marc infatuated teenage girl on the camera or somebody with a boy crush. Ridiculous !

Right on,fully agreed, undeniable, could not be more uncharted with M.F. on guitars.Thank you!
Marc Ford, was the best fit, and way underestimated. I'm a huge fan.

Michael Bonfilio had a similar meeting with those guys at a Toronto show. Eddie was the best!
at this show, and only this show, I heard a girl scream a few rows away like she'd been run thru w/ a sword.
Someone knew who the real talent was that night..........................
well...Marc played some good leads for us......OK DB....CR

Not sure there’s a better lead rock n roll guitarist than Marc. The feel and phrasing...awareness. He had it all.
@@hundenstihl - Has it all. Favorite living guitarist and it ain't close.

I was Next to Warren at the Soundboard..he was so into to the show....Hi fives...never forget it...
Multi cam shot show in single form, never spliced. Meant to be this way for the Ford fans.
