Added tip :use blue tape for your pencil Mark ,that way you don't have to sand it l off and if your cabinets are finished you have a nice Mark and you didn't damage the cabinet by putting a pencil line on it just use some tape I recommend frog tape from Home Depot yellow is good because you could see the pencil line really well.
One of the best tutorials on constructing and fitting drawers and slides, effortlessly and seamlessly. Thanks Buddy.
I have watched hundreds of DYI videos on YouTub, and this video is by far the best tutorial I have ever seen. No second guessing. Keep them coming, great job!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Jigs are the name of the game to the novice woodworker. Kreg has a great selection of speciality jigs for tough installs. I am a fan!
I have installed draws and doors with my Kreg tools before. This video explains it VERY well! Thanks
I was installing new drawer pulls on finished drawers. Taping a small piece of paper or a post-it note to the front allowed me to make my mark for the Kreg jig without having to wipe off the alignment mark. Of course, that technique works in unfinished wood as well. The jig saves so much time. Love it.
Nice pace and I appreciate all the commentary and problem solving along the way.
LOL, I bought the jig, but your VIDEO, shows me not just using it for the slide, but holding the drawer as well, WOW. GREAT
These videos are amazing! Thank you! I finally bought my first home and I’m building everything for the remodel by hand. Kreg products are an upfront cost but save me so much time, money in wasted materials and FRUSTRATION. And the pride at showing off my “new” home.... not enough words to describe!
That was one of the best videos ever!!! So clear and easy to follow without all the fluff. Excellent job!
To enter this comment, I just use the proper jig.
Seriously though, thanks for showing what seems to be a pretty straightforward process.
thank you for showing the adjusting the slotted screw to fix misalignment. for the life of me, it's been very frustrated to use these jigs only to have the drawers not leveled. i was contemplating returning the jigs but looks like this is expected and i can do additional adjustments afterwards. i'm glad i found this video!!!! i was losing all hopes installing drawer slides!
Glad the video was helpful! If you have additional questions, our technical support team is here to offer advice: kregtool.com/help
Great video and tools! Would be great if you could link to all the tools used in the description. Thx
I’m just getting into wood working and the pocket hole jig from Kreg has been invaluable
Thanks for caring enough to make sure. We get what you are doing...which is awsome explanation...that was great.
Slowly buying kreg tools. Love them
Thank you for sharing
Great video and process.
I believe that the smartest people work at Kreg! So good!
Thank you sir for the video, I always try to run away from drawers, but with your tutorials I have learnt a lot by your step by steps explanations and am so happy to carryout my very first DIY experience. Thank you kreg
Great to hear!
Thank you for making a job like this less intimidating, now I feel I can do this with ease.
You're very welcome!
Terrific video that makes everything approachable. I’ve been using pocket screws for all my shop projects and they are also great for furniture where the homes will be hidden. Kreg jigs are awesome.
Finally I come across this after 3 days of searching, amazing and very detailed video. I appreciate this very much. Thank you 😊
You're very welcome!
Great video on making drawers. I ordered both Jigs...the tools make the job
Thank you Kreg for the very informative video. I like your stuff.
Excellent video! And great design work!
Seems to be a very good intro to the cabinet process
Like how you placed the bottom in. I just did this on two drawers. I'm just starting out and this was easy. I see others cutting out Dado's.
Everything clearly explained. Thanks for the great video.
Great video. I’m a novice woodworker but now am confident I can put a drawer together. Thanks
Thanks for breaking it down so easily to understand, awesome
I've been dreading drawers. This was helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Does Kreg make Jigs to build Jigs?
Never realized it was so simple to install a drawer! Of course, now I have to go out a buy a Kreg jig.... :-D (was planning on doing so already!) Thanks Kreg - for making a beginner's life easy!
Happy Building!
excellent video. thank you
The Kreg jig for drawer pulls is pretty sweet. I used to make my own out of scrap wood, but then you end up with several laying around the shop. This saves me the trouble. Ditto for the European hinge jig...used to make these out of plexiglass, but that got a bit tedious and time consuming. These two Kreg jigs are my mainstays.
Thank you for such an informative video
Thank you, I plan I'm buying both
Great job. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. You are a wonderful creator.
Thank you
Nice video.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing. You make it so easy to follow. I truly appreciate you.
Great video.. made it seem effortless. Thanks. Cant wait to buy some and get building.
Nice video. Clear explanation. The only thing is it needed jigs to help built the project.
Good workmanship
Wow!! Thanks SOOO much for this video!! I am wanting to build some closet organizers and adding drawers. This explains it perfectly! I just need to buy a bunch of jigs!!!
Either use jigs or free hand it. Jigs just make it easier.
Thank you for a great and informative video. I built myself a MPCNC table, that I now want to put in some draws/cupboard underneath, and this video explained everything I need to do.
Great video!!!!very well explained, tank you.
Thank you for this great tutorial. It makes life so easy. How about the installation of the bottom drawer?
well explained and easy to understand for people w/o experience. thanks.
Great video. Thank you
Our pleasure!
I like your idea brother, thank for the tips.
Thank you!
Wow, that’s a lot of pocket holes.
I have to make some drawers so naturally i come across this video. I now need to buy all the Kreg products. 😀
Thank you!!! Really informative!
Great step by step video
Thank you for a great video, keep up the good work!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the tutorial. I can finally fix my cabinet. I don’t have to wait for a cabinet maker that’s too busy or just doesn’t show up.
Glad to hear it! If you're interested, you can find more how-to videos at www.buildsomething.com/how-to/list
I’m not a wood worker, but I did the same thing with a piece of cardboard and scotch tape. Worked perfectly, but then I’m Scottish 🙋
Wendy Stevend I’m Scottish too and use cardboard as well.
Highly informative!
Well presented, my compliments.
Kreg tools rock. I own all of them. Their folding table be very aware. It will pinch you as you have never been pinched before. I knew but forgot and dam if it did not cause me to scream.
I wanted to add handles to my kitchen cabinet drawers and doors and now I need to buy that jig. Another Kreg item on the list. I'll wait for that project a while tho.
Can you post the product and where to get the jigs.
This was as easy to follow video as it gets.
Thanks !!!!
Here is a link to the Drawer Slide Jig shown in this video: www.kregtool.com/shop/hardware-installation/cabinet-shelf-jigs/drawer-slide-jig/KHI-SLIDE.html
Thanks Dave, Great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Really neat trick to use the brackets on the inside of the cabinet to mount the drawer slides to the cabinet.
I have those already and I always thought they were to hold the drawer in place while you mouht the slides on the drawer.
Great tip.
Thanks.
I want to install drawers everywhere!
Great help. I love Kreg products.
Only one critique, the drawer face is called a drawer front. A false front is the piece that covers the opening under a sink. They are usually a fixed panel. Hence “false front “
Best video tutorial on how to do this, yet! Only thing to make it better would have been tool list.
Glad you liked it!
This is a really helpful video. You don't need the music in the background. It's annoying. Thank you for this information.
Great Video. Easy to follow. What size kreg screws did you use for the 1/2” thick material for drawers? What size screws did you use for the 3 part hinge?
I don’t know if that drawer was misaligned on purpose to show how to fix it or not. That’s how good this guy is.
Nicely done. Two points though, the exposed pocket hole on the backs of the doors looks bad, maybe fine for a shop. Also, when drilling the pull mounting holes with the jig, you didn't put a backing scrap to prevent tear out on the outgoing side of the drill inside the drawer.
You're giving fine woodworking critiques to a Kreg commercial, my man...
Awesome video. Thank you.
Btw, your voice kind of reminds me of a more mature version of Chris from Family Guy.
I have the best Kreg Jig of them all , Kreg is a woodworker who lives next door, easy peasy
well presented instruction
Kreg makes a jig for everything.
Wow, I've never seen that many holes in a cabinet in my life. It wasn't that bad until you opened the doors... How much wood is left? Kidding, cool vid.
very good video
Is that microjig required or can one use the standard Krueger jig?
This is such a confidence building step-by-step. Too bad Kreg is not available in my location.
Nice tools
you know what , at the first sight, I thought your drawer slides are manufactured by us, however at the installation part, I found the soft close mechasims are a little different shape. lol. you are good at designing cabinets boss, nice work.
I tore out all the cabinets from my kitchen and installed all brand new cabinets last year. The new cabinets didn't come with pre-drilled holes (for obvious reasons) so I had to drill them myself. The doors / drawer faces are beveled, so doing this by hand was a major pain! After one or two, I decided to buy the cabinet hardware jig to do all the rest. It is AMAZING. It not only cut the time down to drill all these holes, but gave me perfect alignment of the handles throughout the kitchen. I'll never install or even build another cabinet without this jig!!!
Does it have a set up for the drill bit since it is smaller.
If I’m going to use 22 inch drawer slides what size should the length of the drawer be?
Thanks for the great video. I got just one question, what is the drill and mandrel you used in this video?
You can view a complete list of Tools used at www.buildsomething.com/plans/P8167D2955EE3AAE5/Classic-Stepback-Cupboard
A lot of jigs but I can see how they are useful. Great video
All these great jigs! Almost feels like cheatin'.
Great products.
are all the drawer sides the same length?
Pocket holes certainly have their place in woodworking , but I avoid using them whenever I have an easy alternative .
Pocket hole joinery system
Ok, twoweary, please tell us about your "Easy alternative". And please include photos and drawings - that will help us try it your way. Thanks.
I am installing a double oven and need to build the cabinet.
Do you have a plan for that?
I do not see a project plan on our website for that specific use, but we do have many free project plans for cabinets. Maybe one of them will fit your needs or give you a starting point: learn.kregtool.com/projects-plans/search/?plansearch=cabinet
@@KregToolCompany thank you
Nice video. How long are those screws that are used with the 1/2 inch ply?
When working with 1/2 plywood, you'll use 1" pocket-hole screws. You can look up the best screw size for your project here: www.kregtool.com/screw-selector
The screws that you use for the micro jig are different from the standard jig say k5..right!
BRAVO
Thank you
Good video, in case I missed this in another comment, what about frameless cabinets? Does the jig work? How? Regards
th-cam.com/video/Ik_FfBGWPa0/w-d-xo.html
Do you have to make pocket holes or would it be ok to just put screws on the sides? The screws would be visible but would that be functional? Thanks
Technical Support will be happy to help with this. You can reach them at technicalsupport@kregtool.com or toll-free 800-447-8638. Thanks!
Ty👏👏👏
Can the drawer jig work if cabinet doesn’t have faceframe?
Yes, this product works in face-frame and frameless cabinets
Perfect. So easy and clean job. Its a shame that here in Brasil, the Kreg jigs are very, very expensive.
Thank you Sir for the tutorial 😊I have one jig from kregg .
If andy from the office did wood working... Great video!
