木材の凹凸を無くすと耐火性が上がると伺ったのですが本当なのでしょうか？
理論的には凹凸が存在するということは表面積が多いということになるので燃えやすいと言えるかもしれませんね。それは水に対しても同じですよね。なぜなら表面積が多いほど水を受けやすくなるので直ぐに腐る。凹凸がないというのは顕微鏡レベルで凹凸がないということだと思いますが、いずれにしても表面積が小さくなります。それは火や水が材料に当たる面積がすくなくなるので結果的に燃えにくく腐りにくいということだとおもいます。本当のところは一度試してみるのがいいでしょうね。
