I share Dan's sentiment about the game impressing me more and more as it progresses. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series and this game with its fun weird ideas! Really cool. Its gone from a chill fun watch to the wishlist. Thanks for the spotlight, Dan! Playframe being as reliable as ever
I really like the design of bosses dropping currency during the fight, rather than just when they are defeated. So that even if you struggle with bosses, it still feels like you are progressing.
Just in case this got lost in the desire to grab the last photo without a chase sequence, I think you can go farther north from the bug capture room, many of the bosses seem to be guarding a traversal ability so its probably worth checking. Really enjoying this series, nice and chill.
I know this was probably recorded like two weeks ago, and love these little moments of "what about that corner ya missed" being Excellent reasons to go buy/play games yaself. I sure hope Dan goes back to the final room and head up, they usually had a path in them right?
One thing I find darkly funny is how everyone in here got sent to be a janitor. And most of the friends you've made seem to have lived a good life met with tragic end just like the player character. Which makes me wonder... Has everyone's first instinct upon arriving been "Must... Break... STATUES!". Would also be really funny if there was a way to get to being judged at the beginning without breaking statues and you just get let into the palace. Then credits roll. Like how Farcry 4 can end super early.
I know it's nothing to do with each other, one being Dagoberg and the other Dagobert, but I want to believe our little crow friend is somehow connected to uncle Scrooge.
26:00 Today on "Can Dan read a map?", extendable bridges. 29:21 Maybe if you use it when there's more than 2 or 3 enemies around, it'll be more useful? Just a thought. 30:20 Turns out Leaf Man is actually hard to dodge. 30:25 I see Carrie found a new transition. Bright, but still neat. 30:38 I wonder why all of these are the same shape as a D20? 32:10 Those eyes are hilarious. 36:07 Yikes, what a way to go. 36:10 Oh, I read that photo way wrong. Still, bad barn cat, even if good cat (though, tbh, I'm still unsure what a "good cat" is. Most people call an utter menace a "good cat".)
Dan: This is a pretty cool boss fight.
Me: No! It's a pretty cool boss flight! Now fly you fool! Fly!

Every time the word cinema is mentioned, I see the Martin Scorsese "Absolute Cinema" meme with a vine boom. I'm enjoying the experience so far
I've known Croutan for barely an episode and I already love them so much
Dan: We're being attacked by Film!
Me: I love interactive forms of fiction. Audience participation media is the best.

A NPC obsessed with bugs, enemies with black bodies and white faces and glowing angel moths? I see what you did there game. I like it.

I see that Ghost Slaughter 3 learned some of their moves from Dead Hands in Ocarina of Time, which is indeed terrifying.
How dare you remind me of that childhood trauma 😱

I'd forgotten about Crouton. Agree that it's a wonderful name for a cat.
Did you hear there will be a Lil' Gator Game expansion? I'm hyped!
That would be amazing
I was already enjoying the soundtrack for this game, but the ghost slaughter boss music is EXTRA rad.

I love cats named after food. My cats are Piccalili "Pickle", and Caviar. Would 100% name a cat Crouton

Absolute CINEMA

I'm not sure why, but Ghost Slaughter 3 reminded me of Nier Automata bosses.
💙
... Why is the power up upgrade a d20? wouldn't a d12 make more sense? Or even better, 2d6...
