- non integer powers for the Mandelbrot set give really interesting chaotic behavior like that of the burning ship and other chaotic variants. In this case the power is 2.001, which splits the needle into infinitely many more warped needles.

Theres a varient which makes the needle split even MORE similar to the burning ship
You have to flip the mandelbrot twice though.
Once in the formula. and another time only visually. and do basically the same 2.001 thing.
It'll look very similar but the needles will always split into 2 as you zoom in more. instead of just being one
if you just zoom into one of the tips instead of one of the bases.

I started by having the mandelbrot reversed (Facing to the right instead of the left) then I did ^2.001 to give it the burning ship needle parts and then did something to flip it back again to the left after that. This essentially "double" splits the needles more and more as you zoom in just like the burning ship does. and looks more accurate and interesting. it has some wild patterns and shapes if you zoom in. very reminiscent of the burning ship.
Maths Town created a Mandelbrot that is more like the Burning Ship. That is, the equations of the Burning Ship and the Mandelbrot Set are combined.
how? how am i supposed to blend z^2 + c and abs z^2 + c? clearly ((z^2+c)+(absz^2+c))/2 aint workin, and i can't find any other way to make a recursive mandelship variation.
I made a version of the Mandelbrot set that looks more like the burning ship the further you zoom in:
z^2+c * abs(z^2+c)^0.1
I also found someone else's suggestion:
abs(z^2+c)^2 + c
@@ishu4227 The way it works is that you just do ten iterations of the Mandelbrot equation, then one of the Burning Ship equation.

mandelship refers, apparently, to something i called a "altershipbrot"
it's burning mandelbrot because it's got the same chaotic type areas as the burning ship, but it's a mandelbrot and has (relatively) no formula similarities to the burning ship

@@chrisrodriguezm13 the first Mandelbrot might be quasi, but I'm not too sure. If it is, then the quasi one would look similar to that minibrot but it would be shorter since the minibrot is actually 2 minibrots fused together (they separate when the power goes up).
