made with ultra fractal 6 formula: z^2 c m on odd iterations and z^2 c n on even ones. m and n are complex numbers that change to random stuff over the course of the video. i could list the exact values but who cares i forgot them anyway

made with ultra fractal 6. image stretched and skewed to keep the fractal inside the radius 2 circle that usually encompasses the mandelbrot set. you'll notice that halfway through the morph is the mandelbar, which is because rotating z 180 degrees is the same as multiplying it by -1, and the mandelbar is defined by multiplying z by -1 after the normal mandelbrot formula is applied.

made with www.ultrafractal.com/ very cool program yes anyway after the z^2 c calculate c^2 c and move c a bit closer to that point. how much closer? well at the start of the video it's 0% the way there but then it changes to 0.2% and after that the camera pans around. that was probably indecipherable but it doesn't really matter because this fractal isn't very interesting so nobody cares

okay so this formula is insane. rendered with www.ultrafractal.com/ so this a variant of a variant of a variant. i'll skip the details on how it's derived and just copy paste the formula: conj(abs(z^3 c))-0.5*imag(c) seems kind of arbitrary. that's because it kind of is, there's a lot of ways to combine these fractal "modifiers" and i just chose some that looked nice

how do you do animations like this?
Several of the vertically-symmetric fractals here may actually only be computing and mirroring the upper half of the fractal - particularly for the traditional Mandelbrot - and missing a lower half of unique structure as the characteristic function’s power value progresses through non-integer values.

because when the absolute value part of the burning ship gets combined with a coordinate in the lower imaginary area, it will add a negative integer into the equation creating the mandelbar, I'm not that good at explaining it though.

doing this for burning ship makes celtic mandelbrot and celtic mandelbar, for perpendicular mandelbrot makes mandelheart. celtics and ship all have minibrots of eachother, perpendicular mandelbrot and mandelhearts have minibrots of eachother, mandelbrot is odd one because doesn't have mini tricorns.
