When will a viable alternative appear? I’ve been a fan of Nick’s pitchfork prophecy for many years now, and really appreciate his no BS, tell it like it is, economic analysis. The only problem is that he never offers up a coherent alternative to the top/down approach of the rich get richer political dogma. I mean, what happens after the pitchfork parade? Where/when does middle class expansion actually occur??? Might I suggest a nascent bottom/up idea that has true power, Sustainable-Life!!! Where sustainable-life is life inclusive of fresh air, clean water, shelter, food and energy production, processing and storage, security, healthcare, education, communication, transportation, privacy, and duty free access to the marketplace’s of ideas, labor and governance. While this list isn’t exhaustive, it is the minimum required to produce a taxpayer, under any and all forms of governance. Be they capitalist, socialist and even communist. Pick any tax paying profession, from truck driver to prime minister, if you’re going to produce more than you consume, it requires a Sustainable-Life level of life performance to achieve it. Again, while I appreciate the acknowledgment of the economic dysfunction, the axiomatic nature of systemic socioeconomic decline and the intractable nature of purchased oligarchical governance, absent a clearly defined foundation to build upon, and a cause of action that can appeal to all people around the globe, it seems unlikely that endless war and greed has much to be concerned about! For what it’s worth???
