sneaky chickens in the greenhouse. Good idea with the screens. That garden is so full of life!!! My broccoli did that last year to, the damn things were 5 feet tall with no head. I think you have all great things to make improvements on.
I thank you for this video. Greenhousing is an art, with many pitfalls. You have given me much to think about. My climate is hot and dry, so the rain barrel will definitely help me, and I am hoping to find cooling ideas, though. Loving the design
With tomatoes, we grow indeterminate as well. I pick them for fresh eating and salsa and things when they are ready and then wash and core the others and put them in freezer bags in the freezer. It's February and I have a huge slow cooker of pasta sauce in the works today when I don't have all the other garden produce coming in to preserve 😊
@@ThorHavenFarm yummy dinner last night and 9 portions of veggie packed sauce for the freezer 😊. It really helped lessen my load while massively pregnant (baby #3 born October 7th).
Putting a fan in the wall is definitely a space saver we have also found that ventilation is key to a greenhouse we need to figure out how to ventilate more I think the slope of the roof will serve you well but I'm worried about snow buildup on your plastic side you may need more supports just thinking out loud buddy other than that I love your Greenhouse✌💗 happiness
Doing great in the green house, everything seems to be thriving. Have you ever thought of putting in misters for those hot days. I don't know just an idea. Grandma use to have a blue tarp set up like a curtain with a little rope and pulley system. That way she can open and close as needed. Great video. Stay blessed. 💚💫✌
There’s definitely a learning curve growing in a greenhouse. You seem to have some good ideas to solve your issues. Venting from the top and bottom will help with the heat.
I have a big cooling tip for your greenhouse, a sun shade cloth around 40% can reduce temperatures in your greenhouse by 10 degrees! Meanwhile plants will grow just fine. I put everything in the greenhouse with the shade cloth on instead of having to move my plants into the shade from the sun twice a day. I purchased a shade cloth that could completely cover my greenhouse and staked them into the ground.
If you make and extra layer of plastic - 3-5 centimeters from the existing plastic, you will get same effect as the isolation of snow :) Know a guy in Quebec who messured snow isolation to about +2 - +4 cel. Actually very effective in winter :)
Great set-up, hope to have one soon, smaller but still. This year i did the square foot method in all my raised beds and aside of few newby mistakes, it did great way better then regular last year method. Rest was in grow bags so almost square foot...Have a safe winter Sir.
I've watched many of your videos. I enjoy your channel but I don't think I have ever commented. Just saw about the heat on the seedling. Rather than having another shelf to move the seedlings, you may consider just putting some sun filtering material there during the hot periods. Just a thought. You may have already considered this. If so, sorry for speaking out of turn. Just seems like it would be easier than moving all the seedlings.
Thanks so much! Probably cost less than $1000. Windows were free, supports are trees from our place, siding is all milled from our trees. So the plastic, cost of milling, a bunch of 2"x6" boards and plywood and then some 6x6 for the outside posts.

That's wild about the broccoli!!! Thanks so much!!!
Great info, thanks! We are new with greenhouse growing.

I really thought we were subscribed to you already! I really love your channel and the cows 😁
Oh thanks so much!!!!
Everything can be a learning experience. Successes and failures. 👍
Oh exactly!! All long as one learns from them! LOL

Glad it helped with some ideas!
I'm constantly thinking of new ways to change how to keep my greenhouse warm in the Winter & and having enough air movement in the Summer 🌞
Awesome greenhouse plans. The tomatoes plants are amazing.
Thanks so much!!!
Thank you for the great video. Congratulations with the greenhouse, it looks terrific!
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!!
Good information I like how you major greenhouse
Thanks so much!!
There is always a learning curve and hindsight is 20/20. I think the greenhouse is wonderful!
So true!! Thanks so much!!
Nice greenhouse 🖒👍

Great overview and info!! I think I’m caught up now…😂

Sheesh if you got 30+ trees milled for under $500 you got a steal on that lumber! Miss my Wood-mizer..
Yeah, the lady that came in had one of those massive portable mills with the lifter and everything. Only took her 2.5hrs to do all of them

Yup, fan in the wall will be in the plan. The 45 degree slope actually sheds snow really well. Thanks again!!

Yes, I'd like to do a mister to also help with watering which I totally forgot to talk about!! LOL Thanks so much!!
Misting…good thinking!
Thank you for all the great info. Love your setup there.

We got our greenhouse last year and i have definitely learned things that I did differently this year. This was all great info! :)
Awesome!! Great to hear!! Thanks again!
Very nice plans
Thanks you again!!
@@ThorHavenFarm your welcome much love xoxox
Never seen a greenhouse like that looks like it's solid. Your plans for next year sound good.
Thanks so much!!!
I like your setup, I’m hoping to build a greenhouse one day. I’ll have to come to you for advice when I’m ready to build!
Awesome, thanks so much! Let me know!

I love that idea! I think that's what I'm going to do!!
You should put the crash test dummy circle on bearings as a whirly gig.

Thank you so much for that comment!!! I actually didn't even think about that, but you're right! That would be so much easier!!! Thanks again!!
You could trellis your melons and that would open up the floor for you. Good job and ideas.
You could probably get away with doing brocoli now in there with the colder weather coming.
That's true!! Might try that!
What was the cost of construction? I love what you are doing.

Very different stumbling blocks in other places in the world
So true!!
So it is not a "classic" greenhouse plastic that you used. Did you see any damage from the sun after one season?
Nope, just a thick plastic. No damage at all yet from sun, snow or hail thankfully
