It's the ultimate combination of Jazz, Pop and Funk, and I daresay no one could have done it better. No one.

EXACTLY. This is precisely why I classified Julia as one of my TOP TEN bassists of all time- ahead of Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and many others. Julia is a natural. No tricks; No gimmicks; No fancy equipment. Just pure pleasure in doing what she does and that makes her excellent. I'd put this young lady up against ANYONE ON THE PLANET and know she'd hold her own against the very best and most likely crush the rest. Talent is one thing; creativity and style are another, but what this young lady has that many great players lack is JOY. She radiants joy and it brightens all of our day whenever we watch her play. That's the magic.

I absolutely LOVE this young lady and all I can say is that Julia's style and her instinct for fills makes her one of the best bassists alive and definitely in my TOP TEN list of favorites along with Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson (from the Brothers Johnson), Aaron Mills (from Cameo), Juna Serita, Larry Graham, Marvin Craig (from Lakeside), Mark Adams (from Slave), Verdine White (from Earth, Wind & Fire) and Bernard Edwards (from Chic).
Julia makes it in my TOP TEN and not necessarily in any particular order simply because I think each person I have on this list brings something so unique to the table that it's almost impossible to determine who comes first, second, third, etc. I just know that as a bassist myself, I recognize technique, style, fluidity, creativity and groove more than mst people.
While I certainly have respect for many great bassists including Bootsy Collins, James Jamerson, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Flea, Esperanza Spaulding, Tina Weymouth, Meshell Ndegeocello and a few others, what Julia brings to the discussion is personality, character and emotion that many great bassists lack. In other words, when you listen to (and watch) Julia play, you find yourself smiling and feeling lifted. The joy we get from Julia comes from the joy she finds in playing. But don't take my word for it. Just replay this video and watch her facial expressions and her body language as she plays and you will agree that this young lady is in paradise with that instrument in her hands, and THAT is the secret sauce that makes her one of my TOP TEN, and what makes her one of the greatest bassists alive.
Once again, this is not meant to undermine or devalue those many great bass players who have put in decades of work and who have long, rich histories of legendary accomplishments. No, not at all. I give them their proper respect. However, too often, these great legends have extraordinarily burdened lives that weigh heavy on their souls. Some are drug users; some have marital or relationship issues; some have histories of financial struggle or whatever else. The point is that so many of these great artists have heavy lives that when they play, they present us listeners with great skill, but no joy. Julia is a bundle of joy with her music because she hasn't had to endure the heaviness of life yet and to me, that makes all the difference in the world. If I'm buying an album or paying to see a concert, I most certainly would rather have an artist that makes me feel great and lifts my spirits just because his or her own energy is so positive, than to have a great talent with a bad attitude or negative energy.
Lastly, I am a bass player and the CEO of Samarian Entertainment and I would like to sign Julia to a recording contract. Julia, if you are reading this, please feel free to reach out to me via email and I will response asap. YOU NEED TO BE RECORDING YOUR MUSIC AND PLAYING IN FRONT OF MILLIONS. Much love.

It really makes me happy every time Julia throws a sick fill into a song and you can see her proud little smile after she does it. Really talented.

Not to say I don't like the idea of nice gear in her hands, but I think she has her tone, style, and whole production dialed. She's playing for herself and not a touring stage gig or record deal or even covering a live drummer's volume in a garage.
She doesn't need anything she hasn't asked for. At age 19 she is probably able to buy what she wants. In her TH-cam vid presentation, she hasn't asked for fame, followers, patreon donations, conversation, likes, nothing. Julia plays groove.

      Cool.
For all we know she's a dedicated trainee doctor, or whatever.
This may be just a hobby to her.
Maybe why she doesn't upgrade the bass.

I can't figure out what is more impressive:
how well the bass line works with the rest of the song
    or
    how well it's being played.
