"if you're gunna hit it into the trees anyway, or top it, you might as well top it as far as you can or hit it into the trees as far as you can" ..... words to live by. 🤣
Great advice as always coach. Tried it on the range this morning with great results. I use the PRGR launch monitor on the range and noticed a 5 to 7 mph increase immediately. Strike was poor initially as using a new movement but returned with practice. I noticed however, that the monitor read over 5mph more if placed on an upturned basket compared to placed on the floor, which I think means my greatest speed is too early in the downswing. Do you have, or can you do, a video which would help move this speed later in the downswing toward impact. Keep up the good work.
Can't wait to try this. I was talking to me ole man the other day, airing my frustration at my lack of distance, and I said I'm really robotic, and that's too many swing thoughts. I played a round at the weekend, and promised not to take more than 5 seconds at address, and it seemed ok, but this sounds great, cheers.
@@FreddyfredsterI ended up looking like a fat penguin at the range, but shifting my weight about before hitting the ball absolutely worked. Just for perspective. I hit a 328 a year ago, before I had too many swing thoughts. Only been playing a few months. It was a seriously lucky shot. I've never got anywhere near it. As I've been fixating on straight shots and accuracy, I've struggled for distance. Thing is, I know what to do, so if I trust myself, I've shortened my routine, and it seems to work, and now, getting loose, the range work the other day was great. More distance. Scottie Scheffler said when interviewed, what are your swing thoughts? He said, just hit it! Once you know what works, trust yourself, and give it some Scheffler! 😄
I've seen occasionally some instructors showing videos of Mcilroy doing some clear press down into the target side foot before he rebounds into the backswing. I've seen many (if not all ) top ball striking tour pros in Gears3d and Sportsbox AI models having their upward movement start as early as when their lead (left) arm reach parallel on the downswing (it not long between the top of the golf swing to that point).
@@jzmouse8842 maybe also check out the “easiest swing” TH-cam channel. It amplifies coach’s suggestion to provide additional weight transfer for less flexible seniors. Great stuff here and there. As a senior I’ve been using for a year and my back no longer hurts.
Patricia, if you touch the screen you will see a cog shape in the top right. Press it and then select playback speed. You can control it yourself from .25 to 2x
@ I have 108-112 club head speed. AoA usually 2-4° and path 2-4R with face 1-3 open to that. Ball doesn’t go up. Launch is always like 8° with my 10.5° head lofted all the way up lol. I’m fucked
@@CoachLockey yea it doesn’t stay on the planet on the ones that do launch lmao. I do catch some thin but with the strike tape it’s usually middle to middle toe
I think a lot of us have felt like that. Keep working. It's taken a while to hit straight regularly, but you can do it. This vid could be the final bit of the jigsaw. Good luck.
Good job! Think it will help!
Love these positive, to-the-point tips.
It is so refreshing not to have to spend ten minutes listening to why my swing is incorrect first.

Great video! Thanks for sharing
Nice tip mate. I know that I suffer from static lower half, not wanting to “sway”. This will help me overcome that.
Ill definitely try this thank you 🙏
Another great tip. Cheers Coach.

Let’s gooo
I can't wait to try this
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, coach! You earned a new subscriber with this video. Loved the GK analogy.
Welcome aboard!

Spot on bruh
This is a new concept for me Coach.......I will give it a go 👍
Game changer for so many with ground reaction forces. Hope it helps.
Thank you very helpful
Thanks Matt
Thanks coach will stick with that 👍👍
Lets gooo
Whats ur advice for sr players with less mobility?
Even more essential for you
Interesting, will try on the range

Force preceded motion??? Good stuff. 😮
Would you do this for irons also?
At 6:08 in the video, he mentions he does it with irons as well.
100%, just not as vigorously 👍
Coach...Now that Mark is 326 off the tee (hahahaha) you have to be like 380-390?
Does moving around naturally cause you to take a faster backswing? That typically doesn't work for me.
Why doesn't it work? Because you have never done it? Practicing it will change your timings and get you hitting it further. Trust the process.
@CoachLockey I'm in!!
Slow mo please

just like a boxer!
I’m just doomed to never be able to hit driver
No no no, you have it in you bruh 💪

if your face is open 1-3 with a right path, thats problem no1.
if your 2-4 up and ball doesnt launch, you are striking it low on the face
