Love this show and the Raneys, there needs to be more shows like this, it warms the heart that people like the Raneys care enough to help people in need without asking for payment for their help. Good old fashioned neighborly people lending a helping hand.
This show is so inspiring. We don't live off the grid, but on the edge of the wilderness, we do encounter some of the same critter related and garden issues. Love to watch!

My dad moved to Alaska from Texas in 1974 as well, he was 38 and a bush pilot for many years until he retired, he lived off grid in a cabin on a river you could only get to by boat, airplane and snowmobile in the winter. He built the cabin and lived in it from the mid 80s until the early 2000s. He had so many stories it was nuts. He passed at 82 about a year or so ago.
We love this show. We live in Alaska and we meet Marty Raney and spent around 45 minutes talking to him. He's a really nice person and we hope to see him this summer. He invited us to come to he's Home Stead. Can't wait to go. 👍💥👱♀️
I am impressed with not just show but this familys perseverance and dedication to helping and using the materials from each homestead as much as possible. This family is very clever at what they do.
I love homestead rescue because it helps me with my place! I don't care if the people are bad off or need help or not. I like how they figure things out to finagle the homestead to work on less.

Out of all who watched and commented there's 2 of you asking the same question. Now common sense would tell you, if they didn't answer the question , why are there only 2 who didn't get the answer ???
All reality shows lack a certain amount of reality. You'd have to film thousands of hours of "reality" to finally get a show if you did not somewhat stage what was being depicted. With cameras all around it's hard for true surprises to take place. That being said, the idea of each show, whatever the shows title, is there in the first place for entertainment, so they don't have time for you to see the "paint dry". They just show you the dried paint so to speak. So yes, most if not all reality shows have to have some scripting going on. Does that make them fake? To some it does, but to others they realize the reality of how the shows must be somewhat staged in order to be short enough to fit the format and to also be entertaining. And of course, most people just watch the show and they either like ir or not, never worrying about how it came about. But you can never please all the people all the time lol!

Raney's are real people who actually care about others and are willing to help make lives better. Cut from the same mold as me.
