  • I went to Kumily/Thekkady (Kerala, India) for only one day, was it worth it? I went on a boat trip at Periyar Lake and walked through the tea plantations, guess which of these I enjoyed more? ;) For more travel vlogs from India SUBSCRIBE here: goo.gl/E8BHMY

    In India when u walk on road u should walk by left side of the road..Thank u.

    • @RebornInIndia
      @RebornInIndia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is so counter-intuitive. In Poland where we have right-hand traffic, we should walk on the left side of the road so that the vehicle behind the pedestrians which is on the right side passes further from the people walking, and the vehicle on the left side is closer to the pedestrians, but at least they can see it from distance from the front. It would work the other way in left-hand traffic and I really see no logic in walking on the left side in India. You're not the first one to be telling me this.

    Hi ... (Sorry didn't get ur name) ! Happened to see ur Vlog accidentally on TH-cam !
    It seems you have been guided by wrong sources about travelling around Kerala.
    There are other beautiful places other than Kochi & Alleppey Zone (Guys here excuse) !
    I, myself am a budget traveller and suggest you to try travel from down south to north Kerala next time !
    December to February is the best season ! Here are a few places I can suggest ...
    # Ponmudi Hill station (Scenic Beauty) / Kovalam Beach in Trivandrum District;
    # Munnar Hill Station (Scenic Beauty, Climate & Tea Plantation) in Idukki District;
    # Gavi Forest (Beautiful, Peaceful & Silent) in Pathanamthitta District;
    # Athirapally Waterfalls & Punnathurkotta Elephant Sanctuary in Thrissur District;
    # Parambikulam Tiger Reserve (Wildlife Sanctuary) / Silent Valley National Park (Eco tourism) / Neliyampathy Hill Station
    (Beautiful and considered as Poor Man's Ooty) / Tipu Sultan Fort in Palakkad District;
    # Teak Museum (Nilambur) / Arya Vaidya Sala Museum (Kottakkal) / Keralam Kundu Waterfalls in Malappuram District;
    # Thusharagiri Waterfalls / Beaches / Memorials at Kozhikode District;
    # Vythiri Eco Village / Edakkal Caves / Adventure Camps / Wildlife Sanctuaries in Wayanad District;
    # Muzhappilangad Beach (longest 4km drive-in-beach) / Memorials in Kannur District and finally
    # Bekal Fort / Chandragiri Fort / Hosdurg Fort / Theanvarikallu Falls in Kasargod District !
    Hope U have a better trip with these places in mind, next time to Kerala !

      quick question, did you go to Karnataka area?
      I was thinking of Kumily/Thekady and then in a few days saw your video put out, which made me think I won't go to that area because I like natural nature more than tea farm areas, although I'm sure there are towns in the area that don't have the tea farm look.
      If you went to Karnataka have you done a video? Thanks.

    I am someone who lives around kumily. In my opinion the place is so crowded and overrated. There are so many wonderful places around kumily where we locals prefer. Usually I take my couchsurfers to those places and they like those places so much. Few to name are Kalvari Mount, Idukki Dam, Idukki Reservoir, Anchuruli Tunnel, Ramakkalmedu.

    what i feel different from others is that, tourists they always take taxi , they just don't walk much like you and also don't stay in small rooms like you did, they just stay in big hotels and take taxi and go everywhere and don't have time to see the pulse of the locals,but you just walk and talk with locals. i liked it, and if you wana see much in nature, then you can visit "Wayanad" lots to see in nature and tribes there.
