    Honda has made longitudinally mounted V4s for years. The Pan European, ST1300 and finally the now discontinued CTX1300.

    Thanks for teaching me, an American, about some of the neat bikes here! I like the Buell though; it's unique and different, a real world sportbike. Erik pioneered what is now a common feature on modern motorcycles: the underslung muffler, or silencer. He was all about mass centralization to promote good balance and handling. He thought that, with the big silencer out to the side, these characteristics would be compromised. Now, many bikes have this, e.g. the Kawasaki Versys

      Cheers mate! Yeah the Buell was a massive leap forward at the time!

    It was a bummer that Motus went out of business. They were on a good path, just not deep enough pockets to make a go of it.

    No Hondas on the list? My VTX 1800 was made in Marysville Ohio in '02, I wonder if they're still producing bikes there?

    • @roadblastmedia
      @roadblastmedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha fair point mate those hondas are cool but didnt make the top 6 and i guess its still a japanese brand in the end

      @@roadblastmedia Fun fact: the automakers from overseas with assembly plants in the USA (Honda, Nissan, Toyota, BMW, MB, Hyundai, Kia, etc) are required by the US Govt to use a significantly higher percentage of US-made components at those plants than the US-based automakers. This means that foreign brand cars made in the US have more US material & labor content than US brand cars do. My brother worked at Ford for 25 years and he said that a big percentage of materials and components were imported from overseas, mainly the Far East. I'm not sure how those govt regulations affect motorcycle manufacturing here.

      @@roadblastmedia "toaster" hahaha clever. When Fisher and Paykel bring out their Cafe Racer I think the world of motorcycling is doomed. Can't see those US 1%ers on electric Harley's tho or me for that matter ha ha. Some machines just have to go bang ICE,s forever. Another great vid mate controversial and thought provoking.

      @@daintree2455 haha cheers mate yeah im not a big fan of an electric but those performance figures are very impressive but in the end of the day you cant beat a proper exhaust note compared to nothing but tyre noise it just wouldnt feel right

    Thought you would've mentioned Keanu Reeves Arch brand. Know about them? Another cool brand ,if you aren't familiar is Janus Motorcycles. Check them out.

    • @PineyRider
      @PineyRider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@roadblastmedia Janus makes some cool antique looking bikes. Just about everything made in house or locally sourced. They actually use Amish craftsmen to do some of their metal work. The engines are from China though. Look into them. Totally different kind of bikes. Look straight out of the 1920's!!
