Great video and review of the 5100E. I just purchased one from my local JD dealer earlier this week - hope to get it delivered in the next day or so & get some hay cut! Seeing this review a few weeks ago is one of the things that got much more comfortable with the decision to go with the E series. Thanks for posting this!
@@RockyAcresFarmstead Just getting the stock tractor with 24-speed & a 520M loader for now. Only thing I went ahead & added is the block heater. I will probably come back & add a radio later and maybe the lights. I don't have any livestock right now so I'm hoping I can get by with just the standard lights, though.
From a used to be small time plow boy.. We had a 1989 4wd with cab 2555. 77hp and about 9000lbs with loader and cast rear wheels and true axle shafts. I always felt like it needed more weight! 😂 it was a very rare occasion to run out of power. I pulled a JD 4/18 3pt mold board plow down to the frame no problem. Subscribed.
Back in 2015 I was looking at a new 5100E with H260 loader. Exact same as you have except no DEF. The cost was $89,000 Canadian (about $70K US), I lucked out and my dealer had a guy that had a 2015 6105D (now the 6E's) with cab mfwd and 24x12 tranny that he bought new 7 months ago (wanted something bigger). I ended up getting the 6105D with 276 hours on it with lots of warranty still on it. The tractor did not have a loader, but my dealer installed a new H310 self leveling loader with quick disconect hydraulics. I paid $72,000 Cdn for it loader inc (about $57K US). Sometimes you get lucky, but always keep a close watch on your dealers inventory.
I do agree with you about most tractor review videos. Most of them sound like a used car salesman. Tell you about all the features but nothing about the performance or reliability of the machine.
Hey bud u may already no but you can get wat ever radio cd player .then just go to Best Buy and buy a radio Install Kit for a 1900 - 2000 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE it plugs right up no wire cuting or any of that crap

I have a John Deere 5100E it’s struggles brush hogging 200 acres with a 15 foot batwing it has problems with it overheating hydraulics I have owned it for three years I am getting ready to trade it in on a 5100m
Wow thanks for the heads up. It gets hot here in Florida and I was looking at the 5100E specificity for the M20 cutter for 100 acres we cut but if you say it struggles with the 15' I might need to rethink what to get.

Is it a good tractor the 105e?
Great video. Thank you, because I just bought my 5100E for snow removal.
Thanks!

New review video will be coming out. As soon as the darn thing gets here!

Great video, nice rig!!
I had john deere dealer install a radio in our 2019 5100e speakers are already in the cab from factory

I run a JBL external Bluetooth speaker in my cab. Charge with a usb.
I started doing that this hay season!

Thanks for that! And more importantly, thanks for the support and watching the videos. I really appreciate it!
When you engage the pto, is it a gradual start or hard start
Always gradual.

@@RockyAcresFarmstead What are you thinking about going with
Already ordered. Should be in either October- December. You’ll have to stay tuned. Pretty similar in taste is all I’ll say.

Great video. So, if the cost was the same for a new 5100E or a used (140 hrs.) 5115R (both 2019’s), which would you buy?
5115R. No doubt. More stout tractor and different transmission!
great job. I just purchased a 5100E. What is the difference between the rear scv's?
Ernie Granke - I only have two remotes. You can get up to three on the 5100e.
@@RockyAcresFarmstead I only have 2 also just wondering if there is a difference between them
Ernie Granke no difference that I am aware of.
@@RockyAcresFarmstead thanks
what mower was that that was off set?
630 MOCO
