That came out really nice! My very first chalk paint project was on metal and from that point on, I was hooked! I love DIY paint because it is deeply pigmented and adheres to anything I've applied it to. Thanks for the inclusion of mama and baby birds, too!

I have a metal nail polish rack painted black. I want to paint it gold. Would you use DIY paint right over the black paint? Or would you primer it first?
Yes with DIY Paint you should be able to paint directly over it without priming. If you are using the DIY Golden ticket liquid patina keep in mind it is opaque (more like a sealer than a paint)so you can see through it unless you use several coats.
