Sometimes it takes a pro! Shoutout to Bowtie Transmissions for getting the Pitbull dialed and teaching me quite a few things! Comment below if you have any questions!
(I bought a 700r4 from Bowtie Overdrives and installed it according to there plans everything went smooth had to install a B&M super cooler trans now never gets over 150 runs all day at 135. BTW this was installed on a 91 chevy 4x4 with a SB 350 373 gearing also installed an LED for lock up and SWITCH. Thank You Bowtie Overdrives.
What will cause my 700r4 to lose reverse or very slow to go in reverse but will slip if i give it gas and i lose O/D in short distance say 1 mile and trans will slip if going up a hill and steep grade and then i hear a shutter i assume is coming from the toque converter. When cold you take off and gun it it dont slip at all. Does like it should but olny last a short time then i lose od and will slip if i put small amount of throttle. Please help me if you can. I am a poor 60 yr old man and trying to fix this on my own from another trans i pulled less than a yr ago because it wouldnt shift right no matter the adjustment on the tv cable. Still got to were it took 40 plus mile a hr b4 it would shift from 1st to second. m trying to fix one from two. Dont matter witch one long as I can get back on the road. Anyway I hope you see this and can help me. I cant afford to pay anybody to help me so I really would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank You...
K is a 4x4 GM truck transmission , your transfer case bolts up to. You will reuse your tail shaft housing , my transfer case is the 208 new process in my 87 tbi 4x4 1/2 ton truck. You will be asked this when ordering a replacement or when combing the boneyard. There's another symbol also but as an old chevy fart I forget these things. Sometimes stuff pops into your head in the checkout line or sitting on the pot.
Great to hear, Mitch! Sounds like you got all the things corrected. Do they not have a TV cable setup for the Pro-Flo system? Were they running pressure gauges when testing the transmission?
They had to modify an existing plate and modify a tiny bit of my throttle linkage to make the setup work. And they did run the pressure gauge, both in the test truck and in my Bronco to make sure everything was dialed in.
I would never try to a Chevy to a ford everything seen like this break got 91 700r4 but every one says junk but don't race they last long time got ford m105 still working after 25 years
What went wrong? You installed a 700r4 is what went wrong bro 😂😂😂 you always do a built 350,400 or 200 transmission. Never a 700. 4l80 is also a option

It’s because that Chevy trans can’t handle all those Ford ponies bud.
Hmm thats weird because chevy won the engine buildoffs by making more power
What the hell a Chevy tranny in a Ford
I learned nothing about the transmission nice video tho 🤷
Haha thank you!
