We don't talk enough about the girl at 1:38, damn she's good. Edit: girl at 2:15 too!! The background singers in this movie deserve more credit, they carried this scene.

I think this actually shows that gender separation doesn't really make sense in Acapella, in my opinion. It just sounds so much better when everyone sings together, you get a broader range and therefore a way better sound. At least, to me.
I can't even begin to explain how jealous I am of the whole common audition situation in this movie, would've been much better than singing the same song five different times over the course of a single day. Also, I love this movie but it makes me kinda sad to watch it now because I wish I got to be in an a cappella group in college but I auditioned for almost all of them and they all rejected me (which I'm sure was due in part to a terrible choice of audition song, I didn't know any better, but that's beside the point)
