From experience on standard (where perception is juat circle) circle alone can do it, and block + circle can do sonic sway

I need someone to explain and teach how the evasion/vanish works.
Do you need to swing the movement stick towards the direction of the enemy? It’s been frustrating finding the timing and my ass is getting beat up by the higher difficulty bots just super countering and vanishing.
I think you just timing it and press R1, it works a lot for me.. but i'm not sure what the right input, because I just mashing the button.
The only counter you need to press a direction for, is Super Counter. Protects you while getting hit in the back as well, and doesn't cost any resource, but the timing is very strict. For High-speed Evasion (vanishing behind your opponent), just tap the block button as you're getting hit (I think it takes a bit of ki). But I'm not sure if it works while you're stuck in a rush attack combo, unless they try to Follow-Up attack after knocking you away or such. Between such gaps, you can tap Block right when they attack with their Follow-Up, to trigger Z-Counter, which I believe makes you vanish behind opponent and counter as well. They can Z-Counter your Z-Counter too.
Super Counter is Up+Rush Attack buttons.
You just gotta tap block, that’s it, just gotta get used to the timing, don’t mash it. Be intentional with it

Just play the game and dont mash, best way to learn is to practice.
Pick your main
Go training mode
Set ki and life to max
learn how to vanish all rush attacks
then learn how to combo
Keep on practicing
They are right, practice practice practice. I’m going to make another video soon and hopefully it helps. This is definitely not a button mashing type of game but as long as you keep practicing even by playing the episode battles, get the feel of the controls and getting use to the movement you’ll get there

does blast deflection work on ults or just supers?
It should work on ults as well. Gonna go back in the lab and research it

Not a fan of how they handled beam deflection in SZ
In RB2 we could deflect beams for free without any ressources, I think it was better, especially considering it takes 2 skill points to deflect a beam, that’s huge, and the buff we get is not really worth it
But still, I don’t get the idea of having to spent ressources to deflect beams when we can vanish them for free with an illusion 🤷🏻♂️
