- On this edition of the Autzen Audibles Podcast, Matt Prehm, Erik Skopil, and Jared Mack discuss the Ducks impressive blowout win on the road at Oregon State, what the main storylines leaving Reser Stadium will be, and how this should impact Oregon's long term outlook for this season.
Looking at the O-line when they were on the sideline... they were FIRED UP! They definitely got their confidence back this game and I think they can move forward, continue to improve but most importantly believe again that they are a very good unit.
OL: Zero false starts, zero sacks allowed, only one penalty, no tfls. Amazing turnaround.
Amazed that Gabe got a LOTTTTTTT of time in the pocket. First half, TV camera was at his back, and he sat back there for a good 4 to 5 seconds in excellent protection. On that play, you got good perspective of how the O-Line improved compared to last week.

Eh, it made it easier, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they wouldn't. OSU still had a 1st down with plenty of time left.

I guess you could say "we found our center," lol. that 3d quarter is what we have been expecting all year.
The only reason poncho was moved off center was because they tried him out at right guard to fill an injury. Pickard didn't beat him out at center. They experimented and found moving harper to rg and inserting strother at LG was better. None of you predicted that. Pickard is still the backup center, like he always was.

Holden is way faster than I thought and I feel like overloaded sides with him, Tez and Evan are unstoppable especially when o you can run the screen game on the other side to keep the defense honest

I think there's an effort to keep the linebackers and ends fresh, as well as making the linebackers rotation situational. Justin and Bryce to stop the run , Bassa for screens and passes
Some of the changes in the O line definitely helped but the biggest change happened between the ears. This team decided that Oregon State was a must win so they got focused and did not take off reps. This team has great potential and only teams with a lot of talent can win against lesser teams while taking off reps. Usually teams like this will play mediocre games against lesser comp that they dont recognize as threatning..this team will fight for Ohio State, Michigan and Washington but the rest it will be hit. Dan will try to keep them focus and playing at their standard but usually teams that take off reps do it out of laziness or lack of condtioning. It just doesnt go away after one game.
Still only 9 in the AP poll today, and with a bye they might fall out next week. This was the team we thought they could be, but they’re not getting any respect right now. They can be a sleeper, and people might take them for granted here on out unless the beat the buckeyes
I said from day 1, the offensive line was key for this offense to finally click. I would still rather have gone after Cam Ward in the portal, but Gabriel wasn't the issue.

As a Duck fan, I'm not happy unless I'm panicking (at least worrying) about something. I'm now concerned about our defense 🤦🏻♂️
They looked good today!! Granted it is Oregon State, but they definitely did look better. Wish we would’ve seen this the last couple of weeks, but I am a lot more comfortable now going into the buy week then I would’ve been if they played like they had played the last couple of weeks love the pod guys y’all’s and locked on Ducks are my only go to Duck pods I listen to, oh and I’m glad we got to see Dante Moore today… they did get screwed on that play where the refs called targeting plus roughing the passer, it should’ve been a no call but they could only take targeting away when the ref’s looked at the replay.

Like everyone glazing bama for beating a Wisconsin team without their starting qb? lol or how about Georgia coming seconds away from losing to an unranked Kentucky team? Ohio state has played literally no one this year . Don’t get too cocky my friend. You’ve never had your boys play under the lights in Autzen.
Great game…but this is one of the worse o st teams they have had in few yrs……but a win is a win!!!!! A step in the right direction…
Dillon only threw two bad passes all day. Two were just dropped.

To bring some contrast to this you played the worst Oregon State team in years. Oregon State is probably here worse off than even my team UW by far lengths, but the UW played a team that could beat you all too. So, keep it calm on yourselves the season is just starting. UW plays Northwestern next week. Again, I do not make any predictions as Northwestern as a team knows what they are doing on the field. The UW can barely snap the so ball. Making like 400 yards worth of penalties, just looking like it does not know what it is doing in areas. But let us see how this all plays out. Again, we are not ranked 6th in the nation or what. But we lost to a team that could beat you all. Doing everything possible to lose and we almost still won.
