    The workshop looks fantastic, Ian. A lot of hard work went into the final product and you should be proud. I have been watching you from day 1 and it's been a pleasure witnessing you grow into a fine young man and a true leather artist. There was literally no one creating videos on TH-cam regarding leather craft save one young fella from Leeds, and he would unknowingly start a revolution and possibly revive an almost long forgotten craft and skill. Leather working was huge back in the 70's (it was a hippie thing, I was a kid) but slowly started to wain except for the traditional cowboy/ranch work necessities. I'm glad you helped bring it back and have done so with such class and precision learning along the way. You do that with everything you do- which is why no matter what projects you have, they'll be watched. So, get in that garage when you're rested and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Woodworking is my other favorite subject to watch on TH-cam and one of my hobbies. Congrats on all your successes, young sir, and wishing the same for you in the future. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones from across the pond in Texas, USA. Troy

      I fully agree! Ian, you were and still are a great inspiration to so many of us. I came to leatherworking via knifemaking when I needed information on how to make sheaths, and I found such a great source of information and learning from your videos. Heartfelt thanks and best wishes from Austria. Keep the spirit up!

    I recognized the Ansel Adams pictures right away. I have the middel one as a print. Unfortunatel not an original but made from his students made from the original negative. No I am not super rich. It was sold for a reasonable price at the Yosemite gift shop. They had a special Ansel Adams section there.
    Your shop is quite well thought through.

    Thanks for showing the finished article Ian. It's a very functional set up. I have a large woodworking workshop and my leatherwork is undertaken at a very large kitchen table. This gives me great ideas to make that more functional.

    Love your new shop Ian! My shop is crammed into a shed in the back yard. Small and cozy. I just finished a tool board based on the design from your video. The templates you provide in the pdf were so handy for drilling the wood and punching the leather. Thank you for providing that.

    You've done a great job there.
    I am not jealous at all. Well, maybe a little bit jealous.
    OK, I'm consumed by workspace envy right now. But I'll get over it eventually.
    Have a great Christmas and New Year Ian.

    The workshop is looking really good Ian and thanks for giving us the tour. I've got some really great ideas for the bookbinding workshop I want to create (especially the lighting and flooring). That engineers tool chest is a beauty - I'll need to keep an eye out for one (or more!).
    One of the things I really enjoy about your videos is that you give us your reasoning for doing things a certain way. For instance deciding to keep a lot of the layout exactly the same as your old workshop due to your sight issues or the way you re-jigged the electrics without having to start cutting holes in walls/ceilings.
    Hope you have a great christmas & new year 🎄🍷🍺

    I'd like a look at how you handle stamp storage, assuming you have a decent amount. I've got a bunch just rattling around in a drawer and I'm looking for something better.

      I use a 4x4 piece of scrap lumber with holes drilled in it. 2x4 will work.

    • @pubplays368
      @pubplays368 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have some foam board that I cut to the shape of my drawer. I then drilled out holes the same width as the base of my stamps in the foam board. No rattle, cheap, and looks professional. Hope this helps.
