This was very intriguing. I liked how you compared satan's hold on us to be merely a game of "cat and mouse". I also liked how you compared the allurement of worldly possessions to neon signs fading in the sunrise. (1st John 2:16-17) I took a look back at some of my previous notes and found a verse that relates to your message. (Psalms 63:6-7) Thanks again for sharing I look forward to future bible studies.

Loved this. I am always looking for good Bible study resources. There are amazing ones on Formed, but I would love to hear more on this platform. I have learned so much from you, Matt Fradd, and your guests! Thank you so much for all that you do on this platform! I still have so far to go, but my faith has definitely been strengthened by listening to Pints with Aquinas. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and Aquinas' commentary on this section of scripture. God bless you and your family.

Matt, I came across this searching for a Catholic bible study. There is so much from the reformed theologians online ... the intetnet is nearly drowning in their interpretation of the bible.
I would love to see and hear more of these. There is a thirst for this type of Catholic material.
On the format.. 20 to 30 mins is brilliant.

These videos are so helpful....it’s so nice to hear the Bible/Aquinas be simplified so that us non-experts can understand and learn. It’s so hard to be in a business mindset for my job and then switch gears to read these thinkers or the Bible without a guide (not to mention the responsibility of being a husband and father with the duty of being a spiritual leader). Videos like this help me immensely. Once I can get my wife on board with a budget I will do my best to support you and some other scholars/youtubers. Thanks for all you do. Truly love Pints with Aquinas, counsel of Trent, Catholic answers, Steve Ray, David Wood, WLC, and capturing Christianity. God bless you Matt and the rest.

John 16:33 has been one of my favorite verses to study, especially in these difficult times. I particularly enjoy it because the language that Christ uses strongly evokes the emotion and charisma of a conquering king, which is an aspect of his character which I feel is often overlooked. This specific passage really shows him off as the "Lion of Judah."

Matt Fradd the part when Jesus said “behold the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone”.that hit me hard. Dang Thomas Aquinas commentary just makes a lot of sense as well.

Loved it...loved it...loved it...would love to see more videos like these Matt Fradd. Especially if it involves Thomas Aquinas’ commentaries. Christ said..”I have overcome the world”....this is not only a comfort for the faithful but a source of great strength and we need to keep our eyes fixed on Christ, through Him alone we shall be able to conquer every attack of the evil one. Also, without tribulation, we might not see the glory of God....
Also liked the part, where Matt said..we shouldn’t remain in our abandonment (gosh we do that so often)but return to Christ....
Awesome! Look forward to more Bible study videos...

Matt, this was inspiring, insightful, informative, and interesting all in one! I love this video and you do a great job explaining it. The analogies you give build up our understanding that it comes down to two choices...suffer without Christ (despair) or suffer with Christ (hope and salvation).

Yes please! Love the format, brevity and use of St Thomas Aquinas' words. It's "chewable". Enough to stimulate meaningful thought and meditation. As well as not being too much that it's overwhelming. In other words, I can use this and put it into action if that makes sense to anyone other than me! 😉

Can you do a video on the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11? From what I understand the saints, doctors and Father's including Hilary, Jerome, Origen, Chrysostom, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Augustine, Aquinas, Bellarmine etc... All state the two witnesses of Revelation will in fact be the great Prophet Elijah and Enoch in person. What are your thoughts, can you do a video?

Thanks for sharing this, Matt! This passage provided great comfort to me in a time when I was feeling particularly hopeless several years ago. It was a great help to have the divine reassurance that no matter how bad things can be or might seem, Christ has already overcome every bad thing.

Such a great reminder of “Christ’s peace in the midst” of strife and hardship. I tend to forget that. I will compartmentalize; stress here and Jesus over there. Life is much harder that way. I need to work on that. Thank you. And should TH-cam take you down, you’ll find another way, perhaps through email distribution like Matthew Kelly and Dynamic Catholic.

Matt, I'm from Chili. I follow almost all your videos, and the idea of a Bible Study based on Aquinas is very attractive and unique in TH-cam. I am very happy that you have done one.
I recommend you to do one on the commentary of the Paul's Letters, because the commentary of the Gospels are sometimes in certains masses online (for example in the Word on Fire masses). And in Latin America, the Aquinas' commentary of the Letters are impossible to found in the stores, so they are almost unknown here.
    (Sorry for my english)

This is my first time to experience doing a biblè study (even if it's online at that!) and I'm happy it was with you because you made it as insightful and relatable as you can! I am just a new follower of you here in TH-cam, but watching your videos had a great impact in my walk towards eternity! Thank you for doing a bible study here in TH-cam and yes, I would love (and hopefully hundreds more of your subscribers as well) it if you could do a bible study every week may be??? God bless!

So glad I came across this Bible study. I'm a SAHM of three little ones and I get through my days listening to your videos. I've been having a strong desire to read the Bible, but unsure where to start. I appreciate you taking the time to create these videos. Hope there's more to come! It's interesting to hear your take and St. Thomas Aquinas' take on this verse. I'm listening to this 2 weeks from now with the awareness of some sad news about a close friend so this is helpful. Thanks again.

Yes, definitely do more of these Matt. Perhaps you could start with a laid out plan so that people could follow a particular educational path e.g. the Gospel of John etc. Otherwise, random pieces are fine but an educational path may give people the notion that they have actually learnt something as most find it hard to read through the bible. This might be way to do it, perhaps with the Word on Fire bible in hand? Just a thought!

Aquinas' take on desire is so much more profound, simple, and direct than every psychoanalyst's entire ouvre combined.
Something about pre-modern psychology just rings true to our lived experience in a way that modern theories do not. You should do a video just talking about desire mechanisms and psychology. Perhaps get a Thomistic Psychologist on the show to talk about how bad the post-structuralists are lol.
