I was in the audience of this performance. Great show. Powerful singing, high-quality tapping. Loved it. Greg is a tap-dancing god. Never thought I'd be able to see this again. Thanks so much for uploading.
What can I say! .Love them both! Greg was so lovable and sweet, besides his wonderful explosive talents and Bruce! Dynamic Bruce, pure, organic Bruce! Those who were fortunate to have worked and share their warm friendship, still feel their warmth and never be forgotten. Love u Bruce and Greg.

I hate comparing singers and performers of color, especially women of color. Reason being, opportunities are not equitable in the least. Phyllis Hyman was quintessentially unparalleled in this show...But Dee Dee has her own special magic, bravo!

I have this DVD at home. Dee Dee Bridgewater has got an awesome voice, huh?!
Bruce Anthony Davis was one of the best dancers to ever hit broadway and created quite a legacy! He always felt he was chasing Michael Jackson, but his dance skills actually far outweighed those of the king of pop and Bruce unfortunately never got his just recognition.
Whoa..I love phyllis better Dee Dee is adequate but Phyllis Hyman brought that swag to this number…. I can't help being floored everytime I see that tap number. Greg Burge was just dynamite so sorry he passed away waaaay too soon. This guy Bruce….He killed it…Nailed on point. Woo!!
So true. Dee Dee sings it well but there is no comparison to Phyllis version, Phyllis sounds amazing.
They are both legendary singers but nobody outshines Ms Bridgewater! Her jazz chops are unquestionably superior to Hyman's.
@sseaforth Gregg Burge was also the Choreographer for Michael Jackson's BAD Video. Such an awesomely dynamite talents .. both gone too soon. RIP

I give her cudos to have nerve to try this after Phylis, however I think I'd pull this video. After Phylis, the play should have closed permanent, as this does not cut it.
I agree DEE DEE is a lot better jazz singer.
Cannot compare to Phyllis Hyman in any way, shape or form.

50+ legends including ELLA, SARAH, CLEO, IVY, CARMEN n LENA have sung this song ,don't think a quiet storm soul singer is gonna retire the number.
DEE DEE way out swings and scats PH! Phylis may have been more striking physically.
