    Hi! Thanks for the video, as always. One doubt and one sugestion: This time you only did auto retopo, right? In your experience, for static renders it works fine?
    And the sugestion is a little classic, but when I ended the video, as the one with the lizard, I had interest in seeing a full turntable of the character. Just my vision to let you know. Keep it up!

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey, i'm glad you pointed it out to me about the turn, I honestly forgot about it ! And I didn't thought it might interest many, but I'll try to remember to ad them at the end from now on =D

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And for the topology, yep i just used a zremesh. The feathers are quite good however because i did them in maya, but yeah for the rest it isn't something you should do for an animation purpose.
      it's just I did a challenge with others on a theme and we had just the weekend to make something in 3D so i just hadn't the time ^^'
      But for a still image it works fine ! Zremesh does a quite good job honestly, especially when combined with the polygroup option. I did my UV's in maya however, because I have more control than the auto unwrap in zbrush
      Thanks for the comment, have a nice day (●'◡'●)

      @@phoerens Super interesting and well explained. My unknown 3D area by the moment is the UV part, I'm starting to know about retopology at the moment, so your knowledge is a well point to follow for me. Thanks a lot again and see you in the next character :D

    very nice!! the feathers are sooo satisfying. Is there a particular reason why you did them in Maya and not in ZBrush?

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks! Yeah I made them in Maya because I could easily model them with a good topology. I know that in zbrush the zremesh will keep too much topology than needed
      And also, to place many objects and duplicate them it's easier to do in Maya, at least for me

    Where was the UV made?
    I watched the video several times and couldn't figure it out.

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was made directly in Maya, sorry I didn't showed that. And if I remembered right I did the uv of the feathers before duplicating them so that they already had the right cuts
      But I didn't optimize very much as it was just for one render image

    I am new to zbrush and how you created the hat was kinda mindblowing.
    I know bending functions from maya or blender but haven't seen it in zbrush yet.
    Btw how did you do that? It's at around 8:55 you opened up some window but I don't know how you did it.

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean the window I use right before giving the hat it's shape?

    • @phoerens
      @phoerens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah yes I think I explain it at the beginning of the video (not sure)
      But you can access it by going on the gizmo mode, and on the right near the gizmo of the object there is an option icon, you click on it and you will have access to a bunch of cool modifiers
      The one I used here is the bend curve tool. Super handy 👍
