Its best to use water that is not fully boiling. It can actually break down a lot of the nutrients and you dont get the full benefit. I like to stay in the 170-180 degrees (F). I notice my matcha tastes a lot better if I do that. Maybe try it out and see what you think taste wise
Yeah I don't use boiling water either for the nutrients and also it doesn't taste bitter at all with just warm water and with boiling it can tend to have a bitter taste to it.
DON'T use boiling water in these glasses. I once poured boiling water in my Chamberlain Coffee mason jar to mix my matcha and the glass cracked. So i always do this step in a separate glass that is more heat resistant. I think it's also written on their website that these types of jars ale for cold drinks only.:)
not even necessary in this case - water over 80'C is real bad for green tea. 60-70'C would be ideal. she's even got the best temperature regulating kettle right there.
This can happen to fine china too. The trick is to have a teaspoon or any type of metal in the cup of your choice to absorb the shock of the heat, we just keep a teaspoon by the kettle on the bench top 24/7.
also if you’re using a mason jar and putting cold milk on top of a warm shot, if you keep on doing this every day the repeated temperature change can also make it crack! be careful guys
While this is definitely not how you would we would prepare matcha traditionally in Asian hkuseholds, it's also more approachable. Most people don't own a bamboo disk..however, matcha shouldn't be brewed at 176F and never boiling
If you have troubles with mixing matcha with ice try putting ice first and then pouring matcha. That way you don't have to mix it afterwards or worry about temperature. Also, please, don't use boiling water
HOT TIP: If you like it to be sweet but you don't wanna add sugar to it, use Sugar-free vanilla syrup (good for coffee, matcha or any beverage you like) its very delicious and it adds a sweet vanilla flavour to it without having to use sugar!!! (ofc, you can use original vanilla syrup for flavour and more sweetness but I went ith sugar-free to lower the sugar intake) thank me later ;-)
just today I made my first ever iced matcha latte… and now I see emma uploaded this tutorial! I did it the same way she did, except I dont have the electric frother whisk thingy 😂😂
Im gonna try this, ive never made coffee or latte in my life. All I make are EGGS and AVOCADO AND TOAST. Recently, I went to starbucks and got their matcha latte, it was good, but DAMN IM NOT PAYING $5.00+ whenever I want it. I will let you know how it goes
The quality in this channels videos are so good. I wished to use the same camera in your main channel anyways, I really love you and I love your coffee company.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Caffeine makes you feel better is why coffee tastes better Maybe that's why I like Emma so much,,Emma's mixed with caffeine and coffee a lot,, I think I'll go on the internet and buy some Emma, mixed with her favorite coffee, does she come in a can ?
I was curious about where you source your coffee beans? Didn’t see you mention anything about fair trade for the farmers who source your beans. It would be great to put in your ad. Your welcome
The tutorial is fun though, the water should not exceed 70 degrees to keep the benefits of Matcha and for a Cold Latte just use cold water directly. I tried the macha latte with almond milk but I find that the taste of milk takes over the matcha and we no longer feel it at all, it’s a pity.
We come from China's matcha base and have been specializing in matcha production for 30 years. Our matcha has been certified by European and American standards, and we offer affordable prices and excellent quality. I think we can cooperate!
Idk why but for some reason it felt like i was watching a 90s commercial for a matcha product. Might be the aesthetics of emmas clothes and the set up but it almost felt like i was someone from the future watching an old commercial. There is just something so aesthetic about it
waou you matcha is really green, most in my country they publish suerb photos of "green matcha" but whenever i prepare it it's never that green ...disappointing
Matcha Latte,, I'm going to have to keep watching this video over to find the ingredient name of what they are, Not just because Emma is wearing pretty colors, and in her eyes, I use 50% of Italian sweet cream an pie cherries,, maybe more? The side effect is it demands and controls,,,you only have enough time to get to where they go,, 😂 Unless you're still wearing diapers,, will buy you a little time,, 😃
You forgot to say Barney,, better get leak-proof diapers or it will run just like the everyday coffee pee down the legs into their shoes,,, wearing socks probably wouldn't help LOL Have a nice day,, you too Emma !
This style how to make really American style…..traditional real Japanese style is more strict more gorgeous time and flavor. There has totally Japanese culture 😢
I would really like you to have a bowl and "cha-sen茶筅" as an aplliance to whisk macha. It's a whipper made of bamboo and makes nice smooth delicate bubble that can make your macha less bitter but mild.

exactly! my matcha always tastes better when i use hot water.
LOL you got to be kidding! I mix my instant coffee with anything and everything just something new , always taste better!
Yeah I don't use boiling water either for the nutrients and also it doesn't taste bitter at all with just warm water and with boiling it can tend to have a bitter taste to it.
yeah exactly actually 80ºC is the perfect temperature
That is right. Hot but not boiling.
Don’t use boiling water for matcha, lower temperatures are much better. A high temperature will make the matcha bitter and lose it’s depth of flavour

same
that happened to me too cause i always saw her doing it 🥺😢

love this but use water thats about 175 or else you can burn the matcha and it might taste bitter
Facts!!
Love the artistic spill. Adds a bit of character
While this is definitely not how you would we would prepare matcha traditionally in Asian hkuseholds, it's also more approachable. Most people don't own a bamboo disk..however, matcha shouldn't be brewed at 176F and never boiling
i always love emma's drink tutorials
If you have troubles with mixing matcha with ice try putting ice first and then pouring matcha. That way you don't have to mix it afterwards or worry about temperature. Also, please, don't use boiling water
these videos are the only thing that keep me going
The blue matcha is everythinggg

thank me later ;-)
THE LATTE LOOKS GOOD!
the gentrification of matcha
Fr lmao nothing like having some out of touch white girl explain matcha preparation.
I forget we’re not allowed to share cultures anymore 🙄
EMMA IS DRESSED FOR THE OCCASSION!
not the boiling water :O also any steel tool should touch matcha :(
I'm just getting into matcha and all of the info is a little overwhelming. I'm glad to finally find someone "down to earth." Lol.
I love these videos and love how passionate emma is about her drink making process❤
matcha is a drink of gods
I love that this video kinda looks like a commercial from 1999. Like the warm yellowish vibe, so gorgeous
Yesterday I got your mason jar for my birthday so now I know what I'm going to drink tomorrow! Love from Germany 💚
if the water is too hot, it can actually make the matcha taste bitter. 176° F or 80° C is the optimal temperature for matcha.
i still watch your videos everywhere on TH-cam.
omg i have been putting way too much matcha in my lattes
i thought you shouldn’t use boiling water cause it’ll burn the matcha and might taste bitter?
Someone commented shes using a temperature regulating kettle
You’re right, you shouldn’t! Water over 80°C will burn green teas like matcha.
I like to use a little honey in my matcha shot
the perfect amount of sweetness!
i knew it
i’m a barista and i’d love to do pop ups for chamberlain coffee!!!!! that’s would be so fun!!!!!
just today I made my first ever iced matcha latte… and now I see emma uploaded this tutorial! I did it the same way she did, except I dont have the electric frother whisk thingy 😂😂
How did you whisk it? I have no whisk lol
@@Lexi-nb7jh haha lol i have no whisk either, I just use a small tea spoon and “whisk” (stir, mix) for 3 mins aprox
this is my therapy
Great format, I really enjoyed the video!
I’m here for this beauty not the matcha 😍
Thank you Emma for amazing videos, i hope more and more.
everyday Emma chamberlain.
Where can I get that go to cup? It looks so good.
It needs a syrup to make it sweeter. Doesn’t taste good with the small amount of sugar in that creamer
I feel special being so early.. love the vibes btw.
Im gonna try this, ive never made coffee or latte in my life. All I make are EGGS and AVOCADO AND TOAST.
Recently, I went to starbucks and got their matcha latte, it was good, but DAMN IM NOT PAYING $5.00+ whenever I want it.
I will let you know how it goes
love the sweater
Tip: do not boil the water, bcs it takes away the sweetness and it turns a little bit more bitter than expected
iconic slaying always
from which brand is the almond coconut cream?
Yum! Can you do a tutorial on how to use your espresso machine? (A sage barista express?)
The Best Matcha ✨️🍵💚
i was waiting for this 1
LMAO she always cracks me up
She's cute.
I have included a nice matcha as part of my morning routine.
Matcha "burns" at a certain temp. You want the water temp at 170/180 def not hottter than that
The quality in this channels videos are so good. I wished to use the same camera in your main channel anyways, I really love you and I love your coffee company.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

use honey too
I was curious about where you source your coffee beans? Didn’t see you mention anything about fair trade for the farmers who source your beans. It would be great to put in your ad. Your welcome
The amount of matcha you have in that tin would literally last me 2 days…

Great tutorial but boiling water on the Matcha will burn the tea and lead to bitterness. No more than 80 degrees is best :)
no but i love this so much
makes me want to try matcha
Good tutorial, but you're using good matcha! It deserves a proper whisking~
I needed this 💚
I love you❤❤

WATER SHOULD NOT BE HOT HOT HOT IF WANT TO MAINTAIN ITS GOOD PROPERTIES OF MATCHA
MOTHER
Lmao… Every Asian watching this NO. NO. NO
#Cringe
Dont use hot water for matcha itll make it more better and wont get the nutrients from it
I think she just hurt her own company in like 6 different ways
Lol the artistic spill looks like a dinosaur
Noooo boiling water only warm!
mines nit that beautiful green color://
Wait did I just realize this is her brand???
💚💚💚💚
Make a dirty matcha girly pop
Boiling water .....nope that burns and ruins the matcha .
i just put it in a plastic water bottle and shake it up
too much water for my preference
😂 dont use a metal spoon, it oxidises the matcha. The metal sieve and whisk are ok though 😂😂
I cringed at the ‘hot hot hot water’
I cringed at your face
The madonna gen z.
Also ppl given her crap about her podcast um like girl karl ove knasguard.
hola mi amor
You dont use hot hot hot water on matcha.. it makes it really bitter!!!
