The road across the Nullarbor certainly was unsealed back then. Three days after we got married in 1971, my wife and I drove across it in an XT Falcon, at night! The unsealed section was much further north than the road is now. Knocked on the door of a motel in Ceduna at 1am. The things you do at 20 years old. That was the first of our 26 crossings.

@@roberthayseniorcounselcomm6523 Driving from the west, that old unsealed road actually joined the existing road where the Nullarbor Roadhouse is.
And 50 years later people are driving electric vehicles along there. Wild to think about! 🤯
One thing I love about Cam is he spends a lot of money on his vehicles but he's not afraid to use them for what they are designed for. on ya mate

been there found a massive survey bouy on the beach near baxter cliffs. was an awsome trip would do it again.
Always love the adventure Cam, but I have to say the edit from 6:33 to 7:53 bloody marvelous, that song was great, visually expressive and the final panning shot across the vehicles top piloting !! keep it up bud, leaps and bounds

We stayed at bilbunya dunes a few years back for 2 nights. First day we rolled in, threw the rods in and caught salmon after salmon. Was simply awesome. No one around, perfect weather and those incredible sand dunes. Was a once in a lifetime experience.

I crossed the Nullarbor with my dad in a HT Kingswood when it was a pretty rough dirt road. The track into Pt Culver with the conveyor belt looks in better nick than the highway was back then.
Great episode. One to add to the list. Pleased the damage didn't live up to the concerns I had from the thumbnail. You blokes travel deluxe! :)

Hi from Cairns & thanks for the great video Cam. We have a GX very similar to yours (15k kms so far). Interested to see how the clean side of the airbox looks in future. I am seriously considering an aftermarket airbox using OEM filter.
Nice drone shots! As a videographer I fully appreciate how difficult they are to get especially when multitasking.

My parents drove the unsealed Eyre HWY in 1964 in a ford station wagon and towing a caravan.
I love to see people with strong regional UK accents (I’m guessing Liverpool) really enjoying the Aussie bush. Standing in shorts and thongs cooking up a storm. It is such a huge polar opposite from his life back home. Well done, mate and welcome to Australia.

Hi Cam. Love your videos. Great work. How do you find the MEGA swag compared to the Big Boy, particularly in relation to getting in and out of it but also ability to sit in onto it when on the stretcher? Does the smaller opening cause issues? Tossing up between the Big Boy and the MEGA....Cheers.
Thanks mate! On a stretcher, both are equally easy/comfortable to get in and out of. Can only sit upright in the Mega. Both pack up to similar size. Mega takes 30 seconds more to setup/pack down with the extra middle hoop. Mega has the shelf inside it. After having both, I’d recommend the Mega! Absolutely love mine!
It's only a matter of time before this vehicle has a chop lined up and a new canopy with a tinny and kegerator.😊 you should have asked for a two for one deal when you bought it, because, I can see, this is not going to be a family car for long🤭. Don't worry, Cam, your secret is safe with me😂

Hi Cam, just watching your latest video, great job, just a question, we also own a LC300, we are heading off in a couple of months for an extended trip around Oz, just a question re 4WD capabilities, are they easy to navigate thru, we really haven't had a chance to test anything out, our last vehicle was a 100 series which was fantastic cheers Les & Denise

As much as I like watching your boys trips one can't but ask how long are you as a family man, prepared to be "one of the boys"? And what does Tiff say knowing half the new rigg is hers?
Hey mate, we read this together and not quite we fully understand the question. But we’re fully supportive of each other’s interests/hobbies and the vehicle was always going to be my daily driver. Which means it’s for shopping, picking up kids from school, boys trips and towing the van on family trips.
What is the pocket system on the front of your drawer fridge?

You've swapped out the Baserack for the Yakima I see. Hows the wind noise compare?? I've got the ARB baserack on my GX 300 and also not impressed.

Ahh I see. I thought you had the ARB and dumped it for the Yakima. I have the wind deflector and a Stedi light bar and the wind noise is pretty bad on my base rack anything above 80kmh
