It's worked outstandingly well for my fibromyalgia for at least five years now and takes the edge off my anxiety and depression. I started at 300 mg and I'm still doing great at that level.
Excellent wellnowdoctor. I reside in the UK. You are correct with your break down of Lyrica or Pregabalin as it is mostly known within the NHS. I have several prolapsed discs. There is benefit for the pain of the discs and nerve pain. However there is rapid weight gain. And i noticed swelling on my feet yesterday. You have got me thinking about that. I have to say the side effects are multiple and bad. I take this medication for a few weeks then change to another pain relief. It is a roller coaster but severe pain on chronic spinal damage can be relieved with LYRICA. Many thanks for the knowledge shared.
It has also improved my life greatly and wiped out my anxiety. I am prescribed this as a “Head med” for anxiety and it works so much better than the benzodiazepines I was prescribed before I was tried on Lyrica. I find the tolerance doesn’t go up anywhere near as fast as benzos.
@@alexxxjay6711 I’m on 600 mg a day as my anxiety was off the scale and I’ve been on all the SSRIs and they are shit and when you are in a crisis and they take 2-3 weeks to start to work and when they don’t it’s heart breaking but luckily a great doctor prescribed me Pregablin and although the dose was to low o was a bit naughty and googled safe doses of pregablin so I doubled the dose and within 30 minutes I suddenly felt like me again and felt like a miracle so I told my doctor and he doubled the dose and after 6 years I am so much happier. It’s about time pregablin became the go to medication as it works and quick. Just think of the amount of people who have taken there own life as they maybe suicidal and need something to work quickly and others who take SSRIs and they don’t work and then they give up
@MoynanPlayz I think it’s gotten a bad rap by people but if you show it respect, it is a wonder drug IMO also. I was afraid of my own shadow before I was prescribed Lyrica but now? Not so much. It has made me enjoy life again as I am confident in myself, it even makes sex 10 times better!. I also have experimented with what dose works for me as I was prescribed a low dose to begin with but I told my doctor and he put me up to 450mg . Might I add however that for me, it works best if I only take it every 3 days so my tolerance to Lyrica goes down. If I take it every day then it stops working for me as good so I try to only take it when my anxiety is bad
It has also stopped my Migraines with visual aura - which I've had since I was 11. So that is a side effect I am very grateful for, and was not expecting. It does make me way more sociable, plus my sleep pattern is great now. The negatives are - I lose about 20 IQ points when on it, plus it sometimes messes up my vision - but that passes very quickly. Plus my weight has increased about 50 lbs, but I was always too skinny before - being 6feet tall and used to be about only 140 lbs now I am 192. ( So I see that as a positive ! )
Interesting,, I have been taking Lyrica for 7-8 years for pinched nerve in my spine.. - Not only did it take all the pain away, it also cured me of migraines.. -Just like it did for you.. - I was getting at least two migraines a week, but after I started Lyrica, they simply disappeared.. - Glad to see it did this for someone else.. - Oh, and by the way,, I also gained weight,, like 45lbs. But having the choice of gaining weight or being in horrible pain,, I rather gain the weight, although I hate it, but that’s the way it is..
Probably because they aren't. Except meds to control diabetes, high blood pressure, anaphylactic shock, overdose meds...all meds have side effects, also.
he seemed to like Mirtazapine and Buspirone. Weird combination, but I can see there are many different points of view in medicine. Personally I'm a fan of the anti-seizure meds.
There are a lot of comments about how well this drug has worked for them. I am very happy for you, but my story is the exact opposite. I agree with everything this Doctor says and would suggest that a new user needs to be aware that it does not work for everyone.
Lyrica DOES help with social anxiety significantly IMO. Although, at times it does feel subtle I notice myself saying more words out loud, etc. aka less inhibited.
@@imgiwonlee my miracle combination pregabalin+st John's wort+ cialis. Not idea why it works but it does. Approached like 50 women by myself including in front of their boyfriend and in groups. On top of that taking the transit was less stressful
Consult with a doctor. St John's wort has a lot of interactions. But it'd the only factor I changed recently although cialis (ed med) can improve blood brain barrier
@@imgiwonlee well especially st John's wort+pregabalin. Cialis is an ED medication., but apparently it increases absorption through brain blood barrier a bit. I appreciate Dr. Landow's take on Lyrica. I wish doctors would treat things in a more holistic manner, though. I've been on Cymbalta, Gabapentin, and Lyrica, and, unfortunately, all of the same side effects that Lyrica has happened to me on all three drugs.
My son died from taking Lyrica for too long, suicide. He was in the 6% that is caused euphoria and hallucinations, dependency came quickly, and depression and suicidal ideations, and he still lived in physical pain despite the high doses prescribed for years.
@@bellabear653 I've been trying to let people know and spread some awaremenss and get someone to care, but everyone just thinks I need someone to blame
I’m sorry to hear about your son and I would like to note that I take 600mg which I gradually got prescribed that dose. At first I thought it was a miracle drug as within minutes I was anxiety free but over time the effect has wore off so a couple of years ago I stopped taking them and in under a day my anxiety was through the roof, I lost my appetite and I had extreme insomnia but regardless I was determined to stop and I told myself after a few days I will start to feel better but a week went by and I felt no better so I gave in and I started to take them again and within 30 minutes the withdrawal went away and I felt so much better. I try not to think of it to much but it’s scary to know I’m totally hooked and will have to take them for the rest of my life but what happens if they stop making them? I would probably I just hope somebody reads this and thinks twice before taking them
Helps with my fibromyalgia. Lyrica has also helped with my anxiety disorder, but I have been noticing a strong burning pain under my right rib cage that comes and goes. I did not know about the risk to the pancreas. I have gained 30 pounds since I started taking Lyrica.
well, it works wonders for anxiety, i take 300mg twice a day and ive tried alot of shit, that almost killed me, but lyrica, literally saved my life dude, its highly individual dude.
Lyrica has worked well for me, with few side effects. I had some weight gain, lower extremity swelling. I've been using it for pain from a burst fracture in my back. However, I have now withdrawn from it and the problems that I was using it for now seem to have stablized. My understanding that it interferes with neuro plasticity which is concerning for long term use. I find the cost of using the drug is prohibitive, and outside of my financial means. That was my primary reason for stopping its use. But my arguement is actually if I don't absolutely need it, then I don't want to continue to take it.
It has been shown in some studies that Lyrica can cause both atrial fibulation and congestive heart failure. A family member just went through this. That fluid retained can also collect around the lungs and cause congestive heart, which it did in our case. Of course the dr.'s didn't agree with my suspicions so I searched and found some legit study cases, printed them out and gave to the dr.s.
Good day Dee Leb, pls I was put on drugs and its really messing me up. Could you pls kindly assist me the reports you spoke about in your comments, thanks so much.
@@akinwalepeter7705 Hello. It looks like I posted this 2 yrs ago. Would you please give me the link to this video. I will see if I still have that info for you.
EMG doctor prescribed lyrica because probably cervical blockage, lost strenght in my harm, difficuty to raise it, feel heavy etc... I am at my firt pill and WoW! For years I have numb toes in bed or every time in horizontal and with cramps if I move them. I feel like my muscles are in a very thick molasses. I have to walk for a minute to get them back. Well on my very fist pill I got my toes back when in bed, could move them at will and no cramps any more. I could even scratch my foot with my other foot toe nail. In fact before I could not move my feet as little as a centimeter without getting cramps. And that with just on the first pill. It is not a coincidence because my problem was every single night and for years. Not one night break. I was so overwhelm that I could not fell asleep anymore.
It is amazing for my anxiety and as a mood stabilizer. I live in Croatia,Europe so I have Health Insurance and i dont pay anything, it's FREE. I love it :)
I took pregabalin 75mg or 150mg per day since 5 months, no sides effects after the first week. I feel better. less pain, more mobility, less anxious. no weight gain at all. no swelling
I can't take it. It has made me very sick. I took it for fibromyalgia and neuropathy. It made me gain so much weight. I HAVE NEVER BEEN BIG MY WHOLE LIFE. I was 127 lbs when the fibro hit me hard. Go on lyrica, I went up to 187.5 lbs. Swollen so bad. I had horrible palpitations of my heart, my heart rate at resting was around 120. When I became active, 160's, my stomach blew up like I was 7 months pregnant. It did work in the start, but quit. Docs encouraged me to stay in it and I suffered so badly. It has done so much more to me. I took myself off of it to see if all that suffering had to do with the Lyrica and many of those symptoms disappeared after I quit taking it. Maybe okay for some folks to take, but I think it can also be very bad for some of us.
Gabapentin is cheaper the older drug in this category. I get a 50% reduction in pain for fibromyalgia at the highest allowable dose. If I take it when in pain it takes 2 hours to reduce the pain. When I was on Lyrica it made me very hungry all of the time.
In my case, my doctor gave it to me to decrease hotflashes (premenopause)...in my case, it makes wonders. But after seeing this video, I will find an alternative when these symptoms decrease in the next few years...
Pregabalina... Jedyny lek który przyjął się mi bez żadnych skutkow ubocznych! 😮 Ale... I could not take Lyrica at all...slept so much, dizzy a lot, n anger issues, suicidal thoughts too...my doctor was so mad at me for telling her that I was very sick on this medication. Ugh
In my latest research this medication causes brain synapses to stop resulting in brain damage. I understand the FDA passed this through as a non-narcotic which seems highly questionable.
@@clintparsons3989 oh yes its highly questionable about this material it's so taboo. It's not a good drug. The seductiveness of this drug is the euphoria. That's what catches people out including myself I tried it for bit. But this drug shrinks the hippocampus and is not a great thing to do. In the uk it was handed out like smarties and was told and sold to doctors as non narcotic. Yeah right. Now it's a CD CONTROLLED DRUG. after killing ppl. I would use this if in agony as a one off but long term it's just not got that efficacy and side effect profile is relentless. U right I agree with u
@@alexisaac9032 it wasn’t labeled as narcotic because it is not an opioid/opiate. In colloquial usage people think the word narcotic refers to any controlled substance people can abuse, but the word has a legal regulatory and chemical definition. It’s not narcotic because the word narcotic specifically refers to opiate/opioid drugs. For example, morphine, heroin, codeine, OxyContin and Vicodin are all narcotics because they are opiates/opioids. Drugs like crystal meth, pot, acid, Xanax etc are not narcotic because they are unrelated to opiates and do not work on opioid receptors. It was actually originally a drug to treat epileptic seizures. It’s still used for this but mostly used these days for nerve pain and anxiety. And any drug can kill you if you overdose. Even Aspirin kills a shocking number of people every year. I’ve been on Lyrica for like a decade. I take 300 mg/day and the only side effect I ever got was huger. It is as effective today for me as it was on day one. After you take it for about a week you don’t get high on it anymore. I never got any euphoria from it, just sedated but that went away after a week. it’s a very safe and effective drug when taken as directed and has helped thousands of people.
I took 50 mg 1X/day for 3 weeks for RLS. Couldn't use Gabapentin as it made me very dizzy. So did Lyrica, but not as bad. I already had problems with dizziness - caused falls in middle of night, which made my back issues worse. It did work for RLS, also back pain, also seemed to improve numb feet. Now that I'm off it feet are better, sleeping better as I'm not up half the night going to bathroom. I use a B12 and 3 CBD capsules before bed now instead. No coffee or chocolate after 2 PM. Icy Hot on feet and legs if they start to feel weird. A pox on all their drugs! It's generic now and 10 bucks for 30.
I just started taking lyrica for my diabetic nerve pain. After the 1st day my restless leg is gone, and I feel great. I hope this continues, because I finally got a full night's sleep.

@M K Wow. That is disheartening and near-criminal. I have read of muscle problems as an adverse effect but not tendon and ligament ruptures. I hope you reported to the FDA's MedWatch so as to let the manufacturer know in order for research and to make others aware. I truly hope you can recover! This med should not be prescribed for knee pain.
@M K I am very glad to hear you reported it. And, I am sorry you didn't receive a response. I reported serious adverse reactions to three doses of Alendronate (musculoskeletal but not as serious as ruptures) in the U.S. and did not hear back, also. I'm just hoping that if everyone reports, change may possibly take place. The drug clinical trials, to get approved, are not enough to prove and inform of adverse reactions.

Very honest transparent summary - thank you doctor. Most doctors today have NO idea about anything you just said lol I’m coming off of it now, never abused it, and I’m suffering pretty badly. Horror story withdrawals, hoping to see a light at the end of this nasty suicidal tunnel. If anyone has tips throw them at me, I’m already on Magnesium, L-Theanine, and CBD. They do seem to help me, so if anyone else needs help, those are a must. I imagine plant based medicine are the way to go for me for the rest of my life - js lol maybe should be for many of you out there at the end of your ropes with these god awful drugs promoted by gigantic corporations with no regard foe the patients buying this bullshit. And that’s what many of these drugs are - bullshit. Unless you’re already in a really bad spot, you most likely don’t need this stuff. My doctor told me noooo it’s not addictive at all! Hahahahaha way to go Dr Dipshit. Anyways thank you Doctor, you’re definitely one of the honest and respectable ones, and I do have a lot of respect for many like you. It’s mainly these addiction clinics who carry the worst doctors and staff. The DEA, the pharma companies, and the profiteering doctors have absolutely turned addiction treatment into a cash cow with outpatient clinics, and it’s very obvious to anyone who’s dealt with them for a while. They really getcha in the beginning, making you feel like you’re doing the “right” thing, which inevitably ends up being a worse thing - when you’re just addicted to THEIR legal drugs instead of street drugs. Did it serve a purpose originally? Yes - but not anymore - putting every patient on the highest dose of Suboxone possible, keeping them on it as long as possible with zero exit strategy (my experience asking for a taper schedule and being told oh nooo we let the patients take the lead on that LOL) and putting them on extra drugs just to make it harder to leave the treatment. Absolutely heinous system, and something’s GOT to give in this country before the healthcare infrastructure ever improves. As it stands, it serves almost zero benefit to patients, and all the benefit goes to the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies - and many doctors just play along to maximize profits. It’s a joke, the US is a scam when it comes to healthcare, and the Republicans (and establishment democrats) have helped to ruin it more and more for decades now.
Not sure if your able to tolerate NSAID’s if you can then take naproxen 500mg or 600mg for anti inflammatory effects and pain. I hope you have already passed the withdrawal phase but if you have relapsed then use vitamin B complex, naproxen it’s over the counter but under Aleve but don’t take it too often or to long duration since it will cause stomach and intestinal problems.

My pain doctor gave me free samples of Lyrica and the best I can say about it is that it didn't do anything TO me, nor did it do anything FOR me. Makes it better than Neurontin which gave me hateful mood swings and auditory hallucinations, was hearing things not there. My doctor called the noises tinnitus, all I know was I was in a really bad mood and hearing creepy noises. The stuff did not help my pain either.
When I was addicted to opiates, I took anything and everything, including Lyrica (Pregabalin) prescribed for General Anxiety Disorder. I used to buy box of 56 capsules with a strength of 150 mg each capsule and I used to take 10 capsules at a time ( 1500mg ), although I was prescribed 3 capsules of 150 mg (one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one before bed) i took so much cos I had an unusual euphoria in a haze where I could not distinguish reality, and even moments of depersonalization. This lasted until my kidneys became so poisoned (in combination with tramadol) that I ended up on dialysis, a biopsy and two months of hospital treatment due to acute kidney failure. The price in the EU of one box is around 50 euros wihtout doctor prescription. With a doctor's prescription, it can be obtained free of charge at the pharmacy upon presentation of a health card. It is very important to emphasize that it causes very difficult and even inability to urinate, double vision, dry mouth, palpitations, constipation similar to opioids. The most positive thing that happened to me while I was taking Lyrica in large quantities was that with the help of Lyrica, I was able to lower my Buprenorphine (Suboxon) therapy from 24mg a day to 8mg a day.
Hey WellnowDoctor; How does a drug that works on VGCC s cause withdrawal? Most of the withdrawal is from the opiates they also take. In my opinion. Thanks your great.
i really wish i would have known all this before i started it. i suffer from Scleroderma and Fybro among other issues. I started this drug at 127 lbs and stopped it a month or so ago and now i weigh 160. It did not help me at all. @Splint Meow yeah I got more and I basically take 300-600mg a day now. I feel like I’m just better off on it tbh as it helps anxiety but that’s partly me just making it seem ok to carry on in my own head. It gets rid of 90% of the opioid withdrawals though. If you only used up to 300mg a day for a week you’ll be fine
Hi Doc. I enjoy your videos as they are very informative. I am taking pregablin for anxiety at a dose of 600mg. I have tried to stop a few times but it is very difficult and I find it harder than opioids. Can you give any advices as it worries me to be hooked to this degree.

I'm so sick it's not even funny, I have the runs and cold sweats. I was vomiting the whole day. It's been 7 days and I still haven't recovered from it. How long are these withdrawals supposed to last?
I'm going through the same thing. I can't do anything to stimulate myself or pass the time without getting depressed 2 minutes into it. My anxiety is high and I'm sweating heavily in bed and have bad shits. All I can do is painfully stare at the walls. I can't think, sleep, talk, read or do anything. Disgusting drug.
I’m afraid it’s a drug that is very hard to come off and everyone of the symptoms I had to injure and I tried to come off them a couple of years ago and lasted a week but there were no signs of improvement so I gave up. Like everyone I thought it was a miracle drug as it completely got rid of my anxiety in minutes but down the road I find out I’m addicted so please think before trying pregablin
It completely got rid of my nerve pain and suppresses my anxiety/panic disorder to a point where I don’t need Xanax at all I was on heroin before thinking it would stop at some point (before I was using pain pills) so my logic was that I could get off it easier I only have a neurologists appointment in may so until then I don’t know what’s wrong with me yet but the medication helps a lot I still take a bit of kratom and I’m clear headed even if I take Xanax it’s the same like with people that have adhd that get adderall that calms them down while others get speeded up by it.
For what it's worth, I have to disagree with the DR. I had back surgery be cause I have congenital spinal stenosis. I couldnt feel my legs or move them. I am totally recovered, but I have nerve damage/nerve pain in one leg. It COMPLETELY eliminated it. Unfortunately, it makes me very hungry.
I'm 32 yrs and male and suffering small-fiber-neuropathy caused by a auto-immun disease. Taking 600mg of Lyrica for two years i can agree with the side effects. For me it's dizziness, gaining weight, sleepiness, blurry vision at times, and increased kidney values. There may be others since i have a lot of issues but i can't link them to Pregabalin. I tried the alternatives, but the side effects were worse or the gain in pain relief was minimal or non-existent. I have a bad feeling about taking this dose for the rest of my life but right now there is no alternative. I would say my pain relief is about 40% and declining since i gain more and more resistance to it.

Can anyone give guidance on lyrica CR (extended release) tablets if they are any good in terms of side effects from the normal lyrica? I am taking 150mg a day of normal immediate release lyrica (25 mg morning, 50mg evening and 75 mg night). I can’t tolerate more than 25mg in morning because of drowsiness. If i switch to 150mg extended release lyrica, will it cause side effects like taking 50mg or 75mg lyrica immediate release in morning? I don’t know how much quantity is released at a time in extended release… hope it’s less than 25mg during the day
It works well and in minutes but if you stay on them for long you will be hooked and the withdrawals are awful as the anxiety is so bad you can’t concentrate, eat, sleep and enjoy any activity so please be careful
I say to any doctor First do no harm This is a nightmare drug it should be illegal I have been going through extremely bad side effects and now withdrawal I have never been a drug addict and now I’m going through hell Please don’t come on here and tell people to take this horror show
Thanks Dr really appreciate your message I'm Graham it works with diazepam for a brief time now I'm paranoid about leaving the house losing my savings pain all came back 5times worse than I felt like my body.was a shell of my former self but on it it works great
I am still having anxiety, nightmares, thoughts i can not control. Not bad thoughts, just jumbled. My withdrawal caused vomiting, dark & stinking urine, no appetite, could not hold down even water. Flailing limbs, terror. I may be the 1 in 12 who get it, but i got it bad.
My Physical Therapist doctor gives Lyrica, my Psychiatrist gives me Abilify. (I already used Prozac, i may be immune to seratonine inhibitors). I have obsessive behaviours linked to anxiety. This makes muscle spasm and trigger points. I cannot use Lyrica + Abilify at the same time. Psychiatrist says Lyrica may cause side effects to me, should i start using Abilify instead of Lyrica?
Pardon me don't get on ability better try some snri or a new ssri they r a hit and miss i tried prozac and paxil but duloxetine is the one for me ,also can try mirtazapine its also good if for pain u can try milnacipran or venlafaxine or duloxetine if it is available there in your country but don't give up
I have had spasms and headaches but duloxetine cleared the whole shit !!!! I was heck of a lot worried with spasms and pain now it's all very much manageble .
I have fibromyalgia...Duloxetine worked only for about a month for me then abruptly stopped. i started at 60 mg then moved up to 90 mg and my legs / arms went numb for an entire week. moved back down to 60 mg and i was happy. i was so sad when it stopped working because my mood was very stable and i was completely pain free. I just started pregabalin today 75 mg twice a day. within a few hours of taking the first pill this morning i noticed euphoria. I have sever major depression though so i don't mind being happy! I realize that my body will have to get used to the medicine but i hope it provides a benefit to the pain as well and not only to my mood. Also, with my insurance it was only 28 $. With a generic good RX card it was 157$. I get it from Walmart.
Has anybody taken Lyrika lets say between 200 - 400mg for lets say 1 or 3 years on a daily basis and has then stopped it? Was it then difficult to taper it of.
It's worked outstandingly well for my fibromyalgia for at least five years now and takes the edge off my anxiety and depression. I started at 300 mg and I'm still doing great at that level.
lucky you
Hi Robert, I was just wondering if you could tell me if you had trouble with weight gain on this medication? thank you.
@@robynwaldeck5055 You do not need to be an expert for this, this sort of medication increases appetite, it is a fact.
I just started with 150mg per day, feeling quite sleepy…how long did it take you to overcome the side effects?
Glad it works for you, but it doesn't do shlt for me.
It's also used for people with nerve pain with spinal cord injury and off labeled for anxiety, ibs and spasticity.
Lyrical has been a godsend to me for cervical spine radiculopathy.
If it's OK to ask what mg do you take I have the same thing and I have been put on 100mg twice a day
It has been a life saver for me in treatment of anxiety for me
Me too
Moynan Playz me too, I take 25 mg or at most 75 mg.
( So I see that as a positive ! )
The generics are very cheap.

But having the choice of gaining weight or being in horrible pain,, I rather gain the weight, although I hate it, but that’s the way it is..

Did you have weight gain or swelling?
@@PandaA-cv3mm yeah i did actually, but im off my meds now, feeling great :)
I swear by pregablin it can save lives it has mine as a brilliant mood stabiliser especially and GAD.

Yes it can.sent me to the hospital with those side effects.not good
EMG doctor prescribed lyrica because probably cervical blockage, lost strenght in my harm, difficuty to raise it, feel heavy etc...

In my latest research this medication causes brain synapses to stop resulting in brain damage. I understand the FDA passed this through as a non-narcotic which seems highly questionable.
They did that because it isnt an opioid/opiate.

B Complex vitamins and eliminating processed food from the diet helps tremendously.

I have CRPS or RSD and have been taking lyrics 75 mg twice a day, and I’m not getting any pain relief. Does this drug even help?
Ashley Slayton you need 300mg
I'm on lyrica for nerve pain and restless leg syndrome, 600mg daily, and it it works 90%. Minimal side efects.
Lyrica replaced Gabapentin. What will replace Lyrica? Awesome drugs but Not for daily use.
i really wish i would have known all this before i started it. i suffer from Scleroderma and Fybro among other issues. I started this drug at 127 lbs and stopped it a month or so ago and now i weigh 160. It did not help me at all. I also have osteoporosis with extremely fragile bones and this extra weight gain is not only physically disturbing but emotionally draining also. when i struggle to simply raise my arm due to muscle fatigue, those extra pounds hinder it even more. Thank you for this!
Tks for writing this, I have similar situation and I do not know how to stop this medication, as they say not to stop at one. How did you stop?
Mireille Mordo I told my doctor and just stopped. I went back to gabapantin immediately. I haven't gained 1 pound in almost a year.
Did you loose any of the weight you had gain? Also, is Pregablin and lyrica are the same as gabapantin?
Mireille Mordo i have not lost any of it. i dont know how similar or different they are but they all effect people differently.
Started taking it to get off opioids a couple of months ago. Been taking between 300mg-1500mg a day and I’m down to my last 75mg tonight. Guess I’m going to have a great time in the coming days and weeks 🤦🏻♂️
Doctor if you our ever in a situation where you suffer from constant pain, I would highly recommend that you try Lyrica, works great.
My physiatrist put me on it for mood coming off antidepressants also have adhd any video on this drug in regards to treatment for those!!!!?????
Hi Doc. I enjoy your videos as they are very informative. I am taking pregablin for anxiety at a dose of 600mg. I have tried to stop a few times but it is very difficult and I find it harder than opioids. Can you give any advices as it worries me to be hooked to this degree.
I'm taking two 300mgs a day as well and am on methadone for addiction, and I think lyrica dependence/addiction Is just as hard to stop however it's an amazing medicine
@@Hfeel893 I have had to through opioid withdrawal and it’s not nice but every day you start to feel a little better but lyrica I tried to come off and got to a week but felt no better so I’m back on it and I don’t think I will ever be able to stop as the withdrawals are to harsh
I thought it was helping but killing me slowly
I just started lyrica a week ago. I'm a little worried about taking this medication long term. I have actually been feeling a little more down lately but I already feel about 50% better as far as my pain. It only costs me a dollar but it is upsetting how much money fizer makes off of it. I may stop at some point and go ahead and try cbd tinctures.
I Am A diabetic2 and also have C.O.P.D.stage4 I have flymymialga I also have psoriasis.I was sent for 7 x rays mostly on my hands fingers wrist joints and middle of my back ,side of my shoulders and my neck. I find it harder getting up each day I feel heavier and the. Pain is constant 24/7 They took me off gabebentine recently as after being on them for ten years they didn't once check my bloods to see if it was giving my organs any trouble which they found out it was rotting my liver. I don't think I can take this longer as it is definitely getting unbearable is there anything I can do
Yeah it works great I started playing my instrustruaments again I started studying and working with my job on stocks ,does it not stimulate
The gabba receptors with man made false normal copy ,Lyricagabbin when I stopped taking it I was nervous paranoid filled with pain PTSD came back worse I yes had seizures sweat was running off dirreahiah I became a hermit it is ruining my life no doubt that
Well, at least it improved your spelling!
Great video! This is all true...stay away from this drug. I was only on it for a short time and the withdrawals are so bad it feels like I'm going crazy.
I'm so sick it's not even funny, I have the runs and cold sweats. I was vomiting the whole day. It's been 7 days and I still haven't recovered from it.
How long are these withdrawals supposed to last?
How are you now? Did you taper down slowly in small amounts or just complete stop using Lyrica all at once?
I'm going through the same thing. I can't do anything to stimulate myself or pass the time without getting depressed 2 minutes into it. My anxiety is high and I'm sweating heavily in bed and have bad shits. All I can do is painfully stare at the walls. I can't think, sleep, talk, read or do anything. Disgusting drug.
Same to me after 1 year using.. now im Just trying lower dose
Jesus
It completely got rid of my nerve pain and suppresses my anxiety/panic disorder to a point where I don’t need Xanax at all I was on heroin before thinking it would stop at some point (before I was using pain pills) so my logic was that I could get off it easier I only have a neurologists appointment in may so until then I don’t know what’s wrong with me yet but the medication helps a lot I still take a bit of kratom and I’m clear headed even if I take Xanax it’s the same like with people that have adhd that get adderall that calms them down while others get speeded up by it.
thanks doctor for this information can u explain what is lirica
For what it's worth, I have to disagree with the DR. I had back surgery be cause I have congenital spinal stenosis. I couldnt feel my legs or move them.
I am totally recovered, but I have nerve damage/nerve pain in one leg. It COMPLETELY eliminated it. Unfortunately, it makes me very hungry.
Its like these people Haven’t tried ir. It makes you sleep like a rock
Does Lyrica feel like ecstasy and happiness?
Yes it does I take it in high doses 900
@@Harry-uy5ft is 150 doses will make me happy
@@wanted-ib1iw maybe a bit higher if your just getting starting
Does this play around with blood sugar by any chance?
So what's the best treatment for diabetic neuropathy
Poison. Wish I never heard of this drug. Horrible side effects. Very hard to get off of.
Hello! How have you been doing since, if I may ask? What sort of pain is it like, is it constant or intermittent?
@@matovicmmilan nothing changed so far. still same side effects. don't have my new blood values until end of septembre, will see. you're taking it too?
@@rico6311
Sorry, I didn't get the notice that you answered. Yes, I'm taking Lyrica 75mg before bed for anxiety, no noticeable side-effects but this helped my mum a lot with what most likely was a post herpetic neuralgia.
She suddenly started feeling excruciating pain in the upper back/right arm and failed to obtain even a slightest relief from diclofenac 75mg injection, paracetamol, tapentadol worked a bit, but in the ER they didn't know what it was and didn't give her anything! Thankfully I had these and some other meds just in case like this.
it is evil it did nothing for my pain and made me aggresive and 1 in 500 take there own life it is evil my advice leave well alone
@THE ORIGINAL PROFESSOR CHAOS where did you hear that about sudden death being a side effect? I need to know how true that is cause I've never heard that. I am on it and am very alarmed to hear that.
I think it causes heart failure.
It saved my life , I used to be on hard pain meds from an arm break! This drug is awe awesome, helps with anxiety and pain!!
@@chiefseattle9158 please don’t say that
Acts like speed, makes me very forgetful and after 3 years is not working on my pain anymore. But afraid of withdraws so I stay on it. And I've gained 50 damn pounds. Started out thinking this was my miracle drug.
Ditto. I have gained 10lbs in 5 weeks and the Lyrica is not helping with the nerve pain it was described for.
@@jamesweber4938 I would get off of it if i were you, especially if it isn't working for you. It does relieve my nerve pain. Almost wish it didn't. The weight gain is a huge side affect, along with memory loss.
I will give it a week on the maximum dose for me (300mg) and if my nerve pain has not subsided I will wean myself off it.
@@jamesweber4938 good call. Good luck!
I am going to wean myself off Lyrica (Pregabalin) starting today. No benefit from taking it and lots of side effects for me.
Terrible drug, weight gain and so hard to come off! It’s a brain killer.
Hi i have developed this nuropathy pain after stopping klonopin. I don't know what to do about it. Its been a month. Don't know what to do about it
Does Pregabalin gives more energy and euphoria at higher dosages or it seems more relaxing and sleeping ?
Depends on how you are that day it seems. It's all of the above really. If you rest you will REST lol if you're working or anything physical it usually keeps you boosted with a kind of "I just smoked weed" effect
16 dollars a pill? My god lol. I get 60 capsules for 7 dollars in Australia.
I don’t know how much quantity is released at a time in extended release… hope it’s less than 25mg during the day
It's 2-2.5$ for thirty 150mg pills in Iran paid in cash lol
Does it work instantly against anxiety or to you have to take vor a few day to show some effects like it is the case with ssri?
It works well and in minutes but if you stay on them for long you will be hooked and the withdrawals are awful as the anxiety is so bad you can’t concentrate, eat, sleep and enjoy any activity so please be careful
I say to any doctor
First do no harm
This is a nightmare drug it should be illegal I have been going through extremely bad side effects and now withdrawal I have never been a drug addict and now I’m going through hell
Please don’t come on here and tell people to take this horror show
Man I just misspelled lyrics I didnt need a health awakening
This guy never had anythng good to say about any drug. But I think he passed away which is sad
My mom’s on pregabalin she has so swollen stomach 300 mg per day and swollen legs arms ankles anyone with these side effects ??! Plz help
How long did u take and how much?

I get it from Walmart.
cortenay1 any update?
I’ve been duped but it helps with anxioty and sleep
Has anybody taken Lyrika lets say between 200 - 400mg for lets say 1 or 3 years on a daily basis and has then stopped it? Was it then difficult to taper it of.
What is the appropriate dose for depression and anxiety?
