    I wish all this Mormon history would become a tv series, animated or not. It's great material.

      @@marquitaarmstrong399 Make no mistake, there's a lot of animated stuff out there that's definitely not for kids and going that route wouldn't be a bad way to make a period piece, actually.

    The Mormon.Church has always excelled at keeping its members deep in the dark about so many embarrassing parts of the church history and of Joseph Smith's personal life. Only recently was the church finally forced to admit that he had 33 plural wives. In Salt Lake City there is a prominent sculpture of him and Emma looking like an idyllically happy couple in perpetual romantic married love. I'll bet many Mormons still have absolutely no notion of what the reality of their relationship must have been like.

      Like i have said before, the mob of people needed to kill off Joseph Smith back in 1820 so we would have nothing to worry about this cult religion.

      So glad _someone_ has commented on this issue! It seems as out of ever 20 audio cut-out, the host (i.e Derek) and participants (i.e. Bryce and David) experience only one. And that's on a good day. I mean, I totally get that it's a technical issue and not at all the fault of Derek or any of the other (unless all three of them aren't paying attention to the wellbeing of residing gnomes or pixies, which of course would drive them (or rather even force them) to be given proper attention and respect by randomly plugging and unplugging equipment, causing disturbance in the electrical flow by hinging grandpa Gerignomy the Gnome on Jolting Duty - tied up with wire inside an outlet [don't worry - Gerinomy lost both consciousness and ability for tactile awareness a long time ago, so he's fine - never a single complaint from that ol stone fox, I tell you! =) ). But once in a while Derek asks Bryce or David to say something one more time due to cut-outs, so it seems weird (to me) he would do that, but then - especially when longer segments are cut out - he chooses not to ask for a repeat? Nah, personally I don't think. So there are really only two reasonable explanations left: Either it's a purely technical issue with that appears mic to recording device and only on odd occasions leaks through to be detected mic to headphone. Either that, or old Grand-Gnomepa Gerinomy's hitched up to an electrical socket inside someone's (probably Derek's) wall, like an epileptic Christmas tree at an underground rave party.

    Re: Early Christianity- it’s hard not to have watched the events of this past summer without speculating that early Christianity was basically an anti-Roman “Jewish Lives Matter” protest that crystallized around one (relatively random and insignificant ) martyr and was amplified by the PTSD of the destruction of the temple.

    I am so going to be checking his channel out. I’m an Ex-Mormon of 20yrs now and don’t let them have any ground. I nail them for what they are, and breaks my heart how the majority of members have no clue of all this

    Jeez, Derek, will you make sure everybody's data and microphone connections are solid before recording? There were so-o-o many audio cutouts with Bryce _and_ David throughout this otherwise-fascinating video. I know you noticed in real-time as you commented on them.

    Something nice and relaxing to watch on this Thanksgiving Day.

    • @atheodorasurname6936
      @atheodorasurname6936 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't observed Thanksgiving Day for years, because i think a year-round attitude of genuine gratitude and appreciation for good things too often taken for granted is much better than one annual day of families, friends, or other groups holding a get-together mainly for the purpose of gorging on a variety of fattening foods, often preceded by a superficial religious gesture of everyone "saying grace" before starting the big pig-out. As an agnostic and atheist, i am also truly thankful for not having my mind chained up in any organized religion.

    Just at 38:00
    In regards to Missouri in that time, and the current events now in 2024, huge amounts of Mormons are trying to move to Iowa. Springfield area I believe.
    I learned that they believe they will retake their land (God giving it back) and establish Zion. To finish unfinished business.
    Because of this series, I can clearly see what is going on and why! 😲
    EDITED:
    A lot of Mormons are buying land in Missouri, as well as learning how to live off grid.

      Missouri being across the major barrier of The Mississippi was the actual Wild, Wild West. People think of the Southwest being that-But that was later. Wild Bill Hickok shot a man on the square here in Springfield Mo 1/4 mile from where I sit. Billy the Kid was more North. The Younger bros just west. The people here are still having to deal with generational trauma from some real low-life ancestors. This area and town fools itself. It’s quite violent here according to stats. Lots of child victims. Arguably the highest rape rates in the country but also the highest number of churches per capita. …
