Hey Maxime, I totally love Odin 3. How would you program the "Gojira scrape"? Would it be the same as your "cheat code" for bending but using the scrapes keyswitch instead of the pull-off? A tutorial would be awesome!
I tried doing slides with octaves (when you play octaves on every 8th note and on e.g. the 5th string + 5th fret and the 3rd string + 7th fret and slide a half-note upwards), but I can't make them sound realistic. Is there any tip for me?
I feel like I must be doing something wrong. Even with a new instance of Odin III.1 and only two notes, I cannot seem to get any slides or bends to function. I've tried using the manual slow and fast slides both up and down, the auto slide keyswitch, the auto slide toggle switch in the UI with overlapping and non-overlapping notes, and nothing seems to actually bend or slide the note. I know I have to be doing something wrong but no matter what I test, I can't get any reasonable result. I want to slide from E3 to F3 back to E3 and then down to D3 and the only results I can get are clearly picked individual notes or broken slides that go to wrong notes or completely cut notes off. Any advice?
keyswitch "auto slide" don't work well with string selection.... i'm selecting the 8 string to slide on that string "fret 2 to fret 12", but before slide the notes that i want, Odin play the inicial note on other string (7) (making a sound glitch)
Cool! I was having trouble with the slide articulations not having enough sustain on the target note for what I'm working on. Would you recommend the third technique for that type of thing? Also is there a way to slide chords?
The first 2 techniques should still work great for that. As you could see, by adding the the target note yourself and removing its attack, you could decide its length
thanks to this i cant decide whether to use this over heavier7strings, like them both equally 😭 i've got a question though, is it possible to make the slide speed relevant to the length of the overlapping section of the 2 notes instead of a knob?
@@SolemnTones what about that fret buzz you get when youre releasing your fingers off of the string, idk whats the actual name to call this and if its already a thing in odin 3 and i didnt notice it, thats my bad but id like to have a keyswitch for this if possible, i feel this could come in handy with the existing human noises to have a realistic sound
Hello Maxim, Odin 3 sounds very impressive by now. I have 2 questions, will there be a feedback function and chord recognition in the future like there is with heavier7 Strings? The chord recognition is really very helpful for non-guitarists.
@@SolemnTones Chords, such as major, minor, seventh, etc. A chord mapping function so that chords are also played with incomplete notes. For example, if you play E-G-B, which triggers an E minor chord, the notes "E B E G B E" are played accordingly. If you play G-B-D at the same time, the G major fingering is triggered, causing the notes "G B D G B G" to be played on the strings. How a guitarist would play the chords.
I have had luck using the ohmicide plugin, and also there is a pedal in amplitube named "feedback" that works ok. The feedback i have created doesnt quite sound as good as i want it to
playing around with the slide keyswitches and it seems like they are just general slides with no real destination at the start or end of the note? usually people are sliding to or from notes in the key they are in. I think the second way you show will address that tho, so the slide keyswitches are basically just effects and arent really meant for programming specific notes in key ? anyways amazing product !
The pre-recorded slides start from the specific note (so they do match your key at the start) and then go down or up at 2 speeds. The auto slide keyswitch (or auto slide function in general) lets you slide from/to specific notes.
@@SolemnTones okay gotchya sir thanks for your reply. take that melody example you have there lets say you wanted to slide to a quarter note at the end, i tried adjusting slide speed but the note wants to keep ringing out a half note, if i put a note afterwards it seems to override the sustain of the slide. it seems if you wanted a quarter note melody with nothing afterwards youre going to be dealing with added sustain regardless of slide speed? sorry to bust your balls lol i just like really specific articulations.
@@Loveandlightforall could you send over a midi file with what you're trying to do? I'm a bit confused by the explanation and it'll be easier to show what to do within the file itself
could have sworn there was a bend tutorial? Am I tripping or was it taken down ? I’m playing around here today with Odin 3 I see that the bends are maxed out at 100 cents is that correct ? a quick google search shows that a whole step bend is 200 cents, so we are limited to half step bends ? most people bend whole steps not half steps so 200 cents would make way more sense right?
You can turn up bend intensity in the advanced pane (assuming you updated to Odin 3.1 ), which will extend how far you can bend a lot. We still gotta put out the tutorial for it
@@SolemnTones do you know the parameters of the bend intensity or is it slightly obscure? all the other bend controls have a form of measurement, attack measured in milliseconds, amplitude by cents and speed by hz I’m guessing bend intensity is adding cents ? do you know by how much ? I see there’s 12 measurements involved would be nice to know the 12 incremental measurements. did I mention you’re very handsome and helpful ? it seems also that theirs a separation between bending and vibrato controls ? If forced vibrato is off it seems that none of the parameters effect the bend key switches, is bend intensity the only knob for bend key switches with vibrato turned off ?

how do you apply the key switch to each midi note?

Mind blown! Sounds so good... Question: Is there a muted rake option? If not, how would you go about to cheating it? Thanks in advance.

Afraid not, as midi does not have look-ahead, so I wouldn’t know how it could be possible
