I've never seen a Peelers before, too - actually I didn't even know the brand. When I first saw it I was like "oh a 300 SL" and then I noticed it is very different. But the front design reminds me a lot about the 50s SL from Mercedes with the round grill and the round headlamps. You found there really some very rare cars. Triumph Italia is for sure also something you don't get to see to often - it is also a car I didn't know it exists. Oh, Fiat 131 Abarth - noticing the 2 door with the wider wheel arches. Fantastic! Haven't seen a 131 for quite a long time. But I must say the facelift as Supermirafiori is my favorit. Totally loving the tail lights from the facelift. But I must say the tail lights of the first series are also cool and for sure looking better than the ones from the third series. Beautiful Vauxhall beside of it. What's the red car beside of the Mini? Very nice looking Jaguar S-Type although I still must say that I like the X-Type from that time more. The retro design was just done better on the X-Type. Although the S-Types are fantastic cars and from what I heard far better in quality compared to the X-Type. The cute Mini Van looks even smaller when seeing the modern VW Beetle beside of it. But probably it would look as same beside a new modern Mini Clubman. I must say I like this last version of the VW Beetle. This was also in my thoughts about whether to change to the VW Golf or something else when I decided to sell my X-Type to get something with less problems. But I am worried about these old TSI engines from VW from that era - the timing chains were very slim and especially the early years often had engine failurs about the timing chain, especially the 1.4 TSI. Ah the P6 with the spare tire on the trunklid. I've seen such this a few times already. The Nova is really in a great condition. And I bet it is a cheap car to drive and maintain. The two tone design on the Mazda MX5 reminds me about the Lotus Elan. The round front end is also kind of similar - who knows maybe the Mazda designers were thinking about the Elan when designing the Miata. When seeing the Capri I must remember about the South African Ford Capri Perana V8 that I've seen a year ago in this colour. Aubergine is really a lovely colour on the Cortina. Great show Glyn! Looking forward to part 2
Thanks Sven, Happy weekend and i hope you are feeling better. The Vauxhall is the VX4/90 regarded as the sporty version of the Vauxhall Victor. You can tell its the vx 4/90 because of the/maroon /red flash. The red car at 5.40 is a Mk1 Austin A40 farina. I agree the X type is more pleasing but i couldn't help but admire how nice the S type was in condition. You rarely see one so nice. My grandad had a P6 with the kit to put the spare wheel on the boot. 1966 in Connaught green(dark green) and a strip speedo that as a child i watched it climb all the way to 100 mph. I've seen quite a lot of Nova's all of a sudden this year.
Wow - your opener with the Peerless is a rare one! Think the company only existed for 3 years - amazing. And then the Triumph Italia - crikey - rare again!! Another 3 year production run!! Cheers for the shout out on the P6 - bit of trivia for you - although you may already know - an early L reg only has the vinyl on the rear roof bolsters - later L reg (and newer) has the full vinyl roof like this example. Mid L reg was the change over. I'm biased 🤣 - I prefer the roof painted. That said, I also prefer the earlier P6s but both nostalgia (for the one I owned when I was 21) and decent examples for sale at the time meant I ended up with our 70's example. What a great show - I think you managed very well with the wind btw. But yes, crazy grass - not sure I'd have been that happy pulling on to that!! Looking forward to part 2. Cheers, Mike & Maia
Interesting info on the P6 vinyl roof and i would agree i prefer the painted roof , hm but i also quite like some of the huntsman models. My grandad had a 1966 P6 in Connaught green with the strip speedo. I remember as a child him showing me how it performed as i watched the speedo go all the way up to 100 mph. Fun times. Wind noise is very difficult to control and can spoil commentary but thanks for that. The grass wasn't just grass but really heavy tight weeds i think they were hoping they wouldn't need to cut it and that the public would trample it all down which they did but you kept tripping over the heavy weeds. When i first pulled onto the site i saw the grass and thought i don't like the look of that but it was one road in and the same out. I had cars behind me and i couldn't leave i was committed to entering the show. I was in the xjs and when i left the road onto the grass i went so slowly and i could quite literally feel it pulling on the underside of the car. Fortunately all was well. In future if i go i think i will do a recci before i go. Are you off to Rustival tomorrow? If so hope you have a good day weather is supposed to be better . Best wishes to you both.
@@TipTopMotors. Hi Glyn - I really like strip speedos - the only downside of having the V8 model I have. Yes, not great to subject visitors to that - heavy weeds etc could do mischief on an old car. We're off to a show on Sunday. So no, not going to Rustival. I can't explain why exactly - no logical reason - but I just don't fancy the whole 'scene' of it somehow. Maybe next year. Best wishes to you too.
That one looks another good turnout mate, however I agree the field is disgusting 😮 some rarities there again! 131 Abarth is a cool car 👌 the red Mk1 Mex with the bonnet up looked a nice one too! It didn't look a very warm day! Great vid Glyn 👍
It wasn't very warm and we did well for it to stay dry. Its been the story of the year this year very few of the shows have had decent weather. This show though as i recall was in early June.Cheers Neil.

Agree about the field - I don't like seeing cars on long grass. Some really good cars there though 👍
some more interesting ones to follow in parts 2 and 3. Thanks for watching.
